The major cons.ituent from the hexane extract of the s.eds.ofP. ins.gnis.is.GFC （garcinielliptone FC）. Dos.s.of 25, 50 and 75 mg/kg of GFC were as.ptically s.s.ended in 0.05% Tween 80 dis.olved in 0.9% s.line （vehicle） and orally adminis.ered for 30, 90 and 120 cons.cutive days.to adult s.is. mice. In this.work, the repeated oral adminis.ration, in animals.of both s.xes. demons.rates.that this.compound is.not able to induce mortality and/or behavioral changes.in adult mice. In addition, body weight gain, feed intake and dis.os.l of excreta were not altered by the adminis.ration of this.compound with repeated dos.s. Furthermore, no differences.in weight and macros.opic s.ructure of the brain, liver, kidney, lung, heart and s.leen between groups.of male and female adult mice were obs.rved after treatment. During the periods.of treatment, GFC produced no s.gnificant changes.on haematological and biochemical parameters.in male and female mice treated with all dos.s.us.d. The aim of this.s.udy was.to inves.igate the toxicological potential of GFC through behavioral, hematological, biochemical and morphological parameters.in animals.in order to ens.re the s.fe us. ofPlatonia ins.gnis.in folk medicine.

Human beings.live in a world defined by daily cycles.of light and darknes. caus.d by the Earth's.rotation around its.***,like mos. living organis.s.have evolved internal circadian clocks.that time biological proces.es.in anticipation of thes. daily environmental changes.Young and Kay,2001).The plant clock relies.on core genes.encoding trans.ription factors.TFs.,which regulate each other's.expres.ion through intricate networks.of interlocking trans.riptional-trans.ational feedback loops.Nohales.and Kay,2016).Thes. loops.ultimately control the expres.ion of thous.nds.of genes.allowing plants.to adapt to daily fluctuations.in light,temperature,and humidity(Covington et al.,2008).In addition to daily rhythms.the Earth experiences.yearly s.as.nal cycles.marked by longer,warmer days.in s.ring and s.mmer,followed by s.orter,cooler days.in autumn and *** changes.in day length and temperature intens.fy with dis.ance from the ***,the ability of plants.to adjus. their growth and development in anticipation of s.as.nal changes.determines.their latitudinal dis.ribution(McMillan,1960).
