Phe.ology allows organisms to ove.come.se.sonally variable.conditions through life.cycle.adjustme.t. Change. in phe.ology can drastically modify the.e.olutionary tra- je.tory of a population, while.a shift in the.re.roductive.time.may cause.allochronic diffe.e.tiation. The.hypothe.is of he.itable.re.roductive.time.was e.pe.ime.tally te.te., by studying a unique.population of the.pine.proce.sionary moth Thaume.opoe.pityocampa （De.. ＆ Schiff.） which has a shifte. phe.ology, and howe.e. co-occurs with the.typical population following the.classical life.cycle. Whe. populations of both type. we.e.re.re. unde. controlle. conditions, the.re.roductive.time.was maintaine. asynchronous, as ob- se.ve. in the.fie.d. The.shifte. population was manipulate. in the.laboratory to re.roduce.late. than usual, ye. the.offspring e.e.ge. in the.ne.t ye.r at the.e.pe.te. date. thus ＂com- ing back＂ to the.usual cycle. Hybrids from crosse. pe.forme. be.we.n the.2 populations showe. an inte.me.iate.phe.ology. From the.e.e.ge.ce.time. of pare.ts and offspring, a high he.itability of the.re.roductive.time.（h = 0.76） was obse.ve.. Informal fish marke.ing is an important source.of food and income.for many familie.. Howe.e., it is also a public he.lth issue. since.the.quality of fish can be.compromise. during marke.ing. The.microbiological quality of fish sold in town fairs in the.municipalitie. of the.Bahia Re.oncavo re.ion, Brazil, was asse.se. to characte.ize.isolate. base. on antimicrobial susce.tibility and to inve.tigate.ge.e.virule.ce. Sample. of mulle.s (Mugil sp.), musse.s (Myte.la sp.), and mollusks (Anomalocardia brasiliana) we.e.colle.te. in town fairs in the.municipalitie. of Cachoe.ra, Cruz das Almas, and Santo Ant ?nio de.Je.us. The.pre.e.ce.of me.ophylls, molds and ye.sts, total coliforms, e.che.ichia coli, and Staphylococcus aure.s was e.aluate.. e. coli and S. aure.s isolate. we.e.subje.te. to antimicrobial susce.tibility te.ts and the.pre.e.ce.of the.ge.e.stx in e. coli isolate. was inve.tigate.. Total coliforms and S. aure.s range. be.we.n 0 and 9.50 log CFU/g, while.high counts of me.ophylls, molds, and ye.sts we.e.de.e.te.. e. coli had gre.te. re.istance.(76.8%) to amoxicillin and S. aure.s had gre.te. se.sitivity to ge.tamicin. The.stx ge.e.was not ide.tifie. in any of the.sample. studie..
