So far,the nature and evolution of the lower crust under central Spain have been constrained mainly on the basis of a heterogeneous suite of granulite xenoliths from the Spanish Central System(SCS).In recent years,ultramafic volcanics from the Calatrava Volcanic Field(CVF)have also provided deep-seated crustal xenoliths which have not been studied in *** data,combining mineral,whole-rock and isotopic geochemistry with U–Pb–Hf isotope ratios in zircons from the CVF and SCS xenoliths,highlight the felsic composition of the lower crust under central Iberia.A number of the Calatrava xenoliths represents Variscan igneous protoliths,which are a minor population in the SCS,and were likely formed by crystallisation of intermediate and felsic melts in the lower crust during the Variscan orogeny(leucodiorite protolith age of 314±3 ma and leucogranite protolith age of 308±2.5 ma).U–Pb data of metamorphic zircons show that granulite-facies metamorphism mainly occurred from 299 to 285 ma in both *** ages are slightly younger than those of granitic intrusions that could be genetically related to the granulitic residue,which points to a main role of U–Pb isotope resetting in lower crustal zircons during HT or UHT *** zircon U–Pb–Hf isotopic ratios support the idea that the lower crust in central Iberia consists mainly of Ordovician–Neoproterozoic metaigneous and metasedimentary rocks associated with the Cadomian continental arc of northern *** rocks provide evidence of mixing between juvenile magmas and an enriched crustal component,ultimately extracted from an Eburnean *** more evolved components present in detrital zircons are likely related to recycling of Archean crust derived from North Africa cratonic terranes.

Background The association between parental perception of child's weight and their attitudes towards his/her dietary habits has not been reported *** study aimed to assess the association between parental underestimation of child's weight and parental attitudes towards child's dietary *** We conducted a cross-sectional analysis of SENDO cohort participants recruited between January 2015 and June *** information was collected through online questionnaires completed by *** calculated crude and multivariable-adjusted odds ratio(OR)and 95%confidence intervals(CI)for unhealthy attitudes towards child's dietary habits associated with parental underestimation of child's *** Sixteen percent of children in the SENDO project had parents who underestimated their *** who under-estimated their child's weight status were more likely to have unhealthy attitudes toward his/her dietary habits[OR 3.35;95%CI(1.71-6.53)].Conclusions Parental underestimation of child's weight was associated with unhealthy attitudes towards child's dietary *** and public health practitioners should pay attention to the parental perception of child's weight to identify parents who underestimate it as an at-risk group in which to inquire about lifestyle and dietary habits.

Impact of the Transboundary Transport of Air Pollutants on Air Quality in Spain

Although compliance with the European limit values for air pollutants has been achieved over large parts in Spain, some challenges remain for O3 on the maximum daily 8-hour mean and information limit values, for particulate matter on the PM10 annual and daily limit values and for NO2 on annual and hourly limit values. Transboundary transport of air pollutants has started to be recognized as a mechanism affecting air quality. Nevertheless, as a consequence of the complexity of atmospheric chemistry it is not easy to determine the importance of this effect. Photochemical models constitute an adequate tool to address this challenge, allowing the identification of pollutant pathways and the quantifi- cation of the influence of long-range transport of air pollutants. In this paper we evaluate the influence of out-of-Spain emissions on this non-compliance picture by using the CHIMERE photochemical model. For this purpose the model was run at a 0.2?-horizontal resolution for a European domain. Although at this resolution not all the local effects can be captured, transboundary transport of air pollutants can be examined. Several simulations were performed considering different emission scenarios. To see all out-of-Spain emissions influence, all the emissions were set to zero, excepting those in Spain. This includes examining European and ships effects on air quality in Spain. A second simulation was performed setting to zero just European-countries emissions, to see the effect of Europe. The third and fourth simulations were carried out by setting to zero France and Portugal emissions respectively. Ozone has been found to be the pollutant more affected by this transboundary transport, in particular in the summer period. The model indicates that the incoming air masses contributed in 2009 to the non-compliance with the European normative regulating the maximum daily 8-hour mean.

Solid-state polymer electrolytes are considered as an alternative to classic liquid electrolytes,particularly for application in highenergy lithium metal *** respect to common dual-ion conductors,single-ion conducting polymer electrolytes(SICPEs)are less affected by lithium dendrites growth and thus are particularly interesting for application in lithium metal *** this work,novel SIC-PEs are developed,based on an ionomer having poly(ethylene-alt-maleimide)backbone and lithium phenylsulfonyl(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide pendant moieties,further blended with poly(ethylene oxide)(PEO)and poly(ethylene glycol)dimethyl ether(PEGDME).These SIC-PEs exhibit ionic conductivity around~7×10^(−6)S·cm^(−1) at 70℃,lithium transference number close to unity,and excellent mechanical properties,with fracture toughness over 30 J·cm^(−3).Additionally,the electrolytes show very high resistance against lithium dendrites growth,by cycling for more than 1200 h in Li°symmetric cells at a current density of 0.1 ma·cm^(−2).LiFePO4||Li°cells with these SIC-PEs were cycled at 70℃ and C/10,showing initial capacity of almost 160 mah·g^(−1)and residual capacity of 45%after 100 *** work shows that single-ion conducting polymer electrolytes based on poly(ethylene-alt-maleimide)backbone are promising materials for application as electrolytes or catholytes in lithium metal polymer batteries.

Acetaminophen is a drug used to treat many conditions as headache, muscle aches, arthritis, backache, toothache, and fever between others, but collateral effects of this drug are not well known yet. Here is tested its effect on proximal tubule epithelium. Acetaminophen (APAP) at doses of 200, 500, 1000 and 1500 mg/Kg i.p. caused cell damage and changes in F-actin distribution in the proximal tubule of male Wistar rats. After 48 hours of treatment, the proximal tubule epithelium showed tumefaction and necrosis. Dose of 200 mg/kg decreased the F-actin and was observed a structure in patches in the basal cytoplasm of epithelial cells of the proximal tubule. This effect was increased depending on the administered dose. Dose of 1000 mg/kg produced the highest histological damage and changes in the actin cytoskeleton. Results of this study suggested that nephrotoxic damage produced by high doses of APAP included breakdown of cytoskeleton in proximal tubule epithelium.

Efficacy and safety of oral solution dosed misoprostol versus misoprostol vaginally in labour induction

Background: Labour induction is one of the most common medical procedures in obstetrics. The aim is to end the pregnancy when continuity is a risk to mother or fetus. Its main side effect is the increase in the cesarean rate, compared to spontaneous onset deliveries. On the other hand, mortality and morbidity in cesareans are higher. The most common pharmacological drugs used for induction are prostaglandins: dinoprostone and misoprostol. The “gold standard” for labour induction is vaginal misoprostol. The oral route is also effective and also has several benefits like faster onset and easear administration. In recent years several publications state that the administration of misoprostol oral solution, given in doses gradually, is associated with a lower cesarean and hyperstimulation rate than the cases where vaginal misoprostol has been used in pregnant women with unripe cervix. Furthermore, being its half life shorter, it may be very useful in case of uterine hyperstimulation and, probably, a high percentage of women prefer this oral administration to the vaginal one. The objective of this study is to compare the efficacy, safety and side effects on mother and fetus on use of oral versus vaginal administration for induction of labour for prolonged gestation (41 weeks) and premature rupture of membranes, both with live fetus. Methods/Design: Design: double blind controlled trial. Study population: Pregnant women whose labour will be induced due to premature rupture of membranes or prolonged gestation. Inclusion Criteria: 1) Bishop Test equal to or less than 7;2) Single pregnancy;3) Pregnancy at term (37 - 42 weeks);4) No history of uterine surgery;5) Cephalic presentation;6) Live fetus;7) No prostaglandins contraindications. Discussion: Nowadays induction rates are very high, ranging from 25% to 30% approximately. In these cases caesarean rates are higher than when the delivery starts spontaneously. The Preandean geological configuration of the eastern North Patagonian massif is established through the use of geological and geophysical *** positive gravity anomalies located near the Atlantic coast are due to 535 and 540 ma old rocks belonging to the Pampean Orogeny （Precambrian-middle Cambrian）,which are widely recognized in central and northern *** Famatinian Cycle （Ordovician-Devonian） is represented by a Silurian-Devonian marine basin equivalent to those of eastern-central Argentina and South Africa,and which was deformed at the end of the Devonian byan～E-W to WNW-ESE compressional event,part of the Famatinian *** strong gravity gradients,the NW-SE belt is coincident with fault zones which were originated during the Gondwanide *** event also produced NW-SE overthrusting of the Silurian-Devonian sequences and strike-slip faults that displaced blocks in the same *** deformation event belongs to the Gondwanide Orogeny that includes movements related to a counterclockwise rotation of blocks in northern *** strong negative anomalies located in the western part of the area stem from the presence of rocks of the Jurassic Ca（n）adón Asfalto basin interbedded in the marifil *** volcaniclastic sequences show mild deformation of accommodation zones in a pre-Jurassic paleorelief.

AIM： To analyze the relationship between perisinusoidal stellate cell （PSC） activation and the dietary fat quantity and composition in the treatment of hepatic steatosis. METHODS： Using an experimental rat model of steatosis based on the intake of a hyperlipidic diet （14% fat as olive oil or sunflower oil, HL-O and HL-S, respectively）, we analyzed the liver＇s capability of recovery after the treatment with a normal-lipidic diet （5% fat as olive oil or sunflower oil, NL-O and NL-S, respectively） by immunoo/tochemical and Western blot analysis of glial fibrillary acidic protein （GFAP） expression in PSCs, collagen quantification and serum aminotransferase determination. RESULTS： The fatty infiltration in the steatotic livers decreased after the treatment with both NL diets, indicating liver recovery. This decrease was accompanied with a lower collagen deposition and aminotransferase level as well as changes in the PSC population that increased the GFAP expression. The above-mentioned effects were more pronounced in animals fed on NL-O based diet. CONCLUSION： Treatment with a balanced diet enriched in olive oil contributes to the liver recovery from a steatotic process. The PSC phenotype is a marker of this hepatic-recovery model.
