Although the functional neuroanatomy of the midbrain dopamine （mDA） system has been well characterized, the literature regarding its capacity to innervate the hippocampal formation has been inconsistent. The lack of expression of definitive markers for dopaminergic fibers, such as the dopamine transporter, in the hippocampus has complicated studies in this area. here we have used immunohistochemical techniques to characterize the tyrosine hydroxylase expressing fiber network in the rat hippocampus, combined with retrograde tracing from the dentate gyrus to assess the capacity for afferent innervation by mDA neurons. The results indicate that virtually all tyrosine hydroxylase fibers throughout the hippocampus are of a noradrenergic phenotype, while the overlying cortex contains both dopaminergic and noradrenergic fiber networks. Furthermore, retrograde tracing from the dentate gyrus robustly labels tyrosine hydroxylase-immunoreactive noradrenergic neurons in the locus coeruleus but not mDA neurons.

Objective: The aim of this work was to identify the risk factors for the occurrence of prematurity at ChUPB. Materials and Methods: a case-control study was performed between February and June 2021 at ChUPB. Our study population consisted of premature infants who were matched to full-term newborns on a 1:1 basis. The variables studied were maternal characteristics (age, marital status, education level, and occupation) as well as pregnancy (maternal history, prenatal care), delivery (maternal fever, rupture of membranes), and newborns (gestational age, sex, and weight). The chi2 test with a significance level of p 0.05 and the adjusted odds ratio were used. Results: A total of 609 newborns were hospitalized, 219 of whom were premature (36%), of whom 100 premature infants meeting the inclusion criteria were enrolled. Maternal age 18 years was noted in 20% of cases (adjusted OR = 2.94 [0.86 - 10.06]) versus 5% of controls. Low educational level was noted in 47% (adjusted OR = 4.33 [1.88 - 9.96]) of cases versus 14% of controls. The risk factors identified were previous preterm delivery (adjusted OR = 0.06 [0.00 - 0.80]), maternal fever before labor (adjusted OR = 0.43 [0.20 - 0.90]), and premature rupture of membrane (RPM), (adjusted OR = 0.32 [0.16 - 0.64]). There was no association between marital status and insufficient prenatal visits (ANC) in relation to the occurrence of prematurity. Conclusion: The reduction of preterm births requires improved monitoring of pregnancy, delivery and care of the newborn. But primary prevention lies in improving the living conditions of the population.

This article describes cases of anti-tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-α-induced autoimmune hepatitis and evaluates the outcome of these patients in relation to their immunosuppressive strategy. A retrospective analysis of medical records was performed in our center, in order to detect cases of autoimmune hepatitis(AIh) associated with anti-TNF biologic agents. We describe and analyze eight cases of AIh following anti-TNF therapy, 7 with infliximab and 1 with adalimumab. A distinction should be made between induction of autoimmunity and clinically evident autoimmune disease. Liver biopsy is useful in detecting the role of the TNF-α antagonist in the development of AIh. The lack of relapse after discontinuing immunosuppressive therapy favors, as in this case series, an immune-mediated drug reaction as most patients with AIh have a relapse after treatment is suspended. Although AIh related to anti-TNF therapy is rare, a baseline immunological panel along with liver function tests should be performed in all patients with autoimmune disease before starting biologics.

Clinical observation on pericardial effusion in patients with lung cancer treated by intrapericardial catheterization and infusion of highly agglutinative staphylococcin and cisplatin

Objective: To evaluate the therapeutic efficacy of injecting highly agglutinative staphylococcin (hASL) and cisplatin into pericardial cavity of lung cancer patients with pericardial effusion. Methods: 81 patients were randomized into two groups: 45 in the experimental group (hASL and Cisplatin) and 36 in the control group (Cisplatin). At first pericardial effusion was drained out from a intrapericardial catheter and then different drugs were infused, respectively. 24 h after perfusion the draining continued again until drainage quantity was less than 30 mL every day. The draining lasted 10–15 days. Results: The response rate was 91.1% for the experimental group and 80.6% for the control group. There was no significant difference between the two groups (P>0.05). The complete remission was 77.8% for the experimental group and 52.8% for the control group, which was statistically significant difference (Phe adverse effects were myelosuppression and nausea and vomiting, which were 35.6% and 40.0% in the experimental group and 72.2% and 66.7% in the control group, respectively (Pect- ing hASL and cisplatin into pericardial cavity may be a better way to control pericardial effusion of lung cancer.

Nematodes may contribute to the decomposition of detritus in both aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems. In aquatic sediments, the most prominent role is expected for bacterial-feeding nematodes, since these may in several ways affect the activity and abundance of bacteria, the principal decomposers of organic matter. however, many free-living nematodes have other feeding strategies, and it is unclear whether they may also affect decomposition processes. Predatory nematodes, for instance, may affect the abundance of bacterivores and hence indirectly also of bacteria（i.e. a trophic cascade）. This study focuses on the short-term（9 days） effects of the Rhabditis bacteriovorous nematodes Rhabditis（Pellioditis） marina and Panagrolaimus paetzoldi and of the predatory nematode enoploides longispiculosus in single-species as well as in combination treatments on the decomposition rate of brown algae（Fucus vesiculosus L.） detritus through laboratory microcosm experiments. Remarkably, all treatments with the predatory nematode showed higher decomposition rates than treatments without e. longispiculosus. howeve, the mechanism behind this effect remain unclear. In addition, a combination treatment with both bacterivorous species had a higher decomposition rate than treatments with single bacterivore species, inline with other recent studies demonstrating interactions effects between different bacterivore species.
