Despite its enormous benefits,mining is respon-sible for intense changes to vegetation and soil ***,after extraction,it is necessary to rehabilitate the mined areas,creating better conditions for the establishment of plant species w.ich is *** study evaluated mineral and organic fertilization on the grow.h,and carbon and nitrogen(N)metabolism of tw. Crotalaria species[Cro-talaria spectabilis(exotic species)and Crotalaria maypu-rensis(native species from Carajás Mineral Province(CMP)]established on a w.ste pile from an iron mine in CMP.A control(w.thout fertilizer application)and six fertilization mixtures w.re tested(i=NPK;ii=NPK+micronutrients;iii=NPK+micronutrients+organic compost;iv=PK;v=PK+micronutrients;vi=PK+micronutrients+organic compost).Fertilization contributed to increased grow.h of both species,and treatments w.th NPK and micronutrients had the best results(up to 257%***),w.ile organic fertilization did not show.*** Crotalaria had a greater number of nodules,higher nodule dry mass,chlorophyll a and b contents and show.d free ammonium as the predominant N form,reflecting greater increments in biomass compared to native *** having low.r grow.h,the use of this native species in the rehabilitation of mining areas should be considered,mainly because it has good development and meets current government legislation as an opportunity to restore local biodiversity.

Assessment of Agricultural Soil Quality Indices Using Mechanistic Models

Assessing soil quality is a critical strategy for diagnosing soil status and anticipating concerns in land use systems for agricultural sustainability. In this study, tw. soil quality assessment indices, the Integrated Quality Index (IQI) and Nemoro Quality Index (NQI), w.re employed using tw. indicator selection methods: Total Data Set (TDS) and Minimum Data Set (MDS), focusing on agricultural fields in Golestan province, Iran. A total of 89 soil samples w.re collected and analyzed for particle size distribution, organic carbon, calcium carbonate equivalent (CCE), electrical conductivity (EC), pH, and plant-essential nutrients, including nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, zinc, copper, manganese, and iron. Principal component analysis (PCA) w.s used to extract MDS from TDS, and geostatistical adaptation and correlation analyses w.re performed to determine the optimal soil quality evaluation index. Our results show.that the exponential model better suits the spatial structure of soil quality indicators (IQIMDS: 0.955). Conformity and correlation analyses indicate that the IQI index outperformed the NQI index in estimating soil quality. The superiority of the TDS technique over the MDS technique in terms of accuracy (IQITDSs kappa: 0.155). Linear relationships betw.en different methods show.d a higher correlation coefficient (R2 = 0.43) through the application of IQI. This study suggests the use of IQIMDS to provide a reliable measurement that is particularly useful in assessing the quality of agricultural soil.

The grow.ng prevalence of fake images on the Internet and social media makes image integrity verification a crucial research *** of the most popular methods for manipulating digital images is image splicing,w.ich involves copying a specific area from one image and pasting it into *** w.re made to mitigate the effects of image splicing,w.ich continues to be a significant research *** study proposes a new.splicing detectionmodel,combining Sonine functions-derived convex-based features and deep *** stages make up the proposed *** first step entails feature extraction,then classification using the“support vector machine”(SVM)to differentiate authentic and spliced *** proposed Sonine functions-based feature extraction model reveals the spliced texture details by extracting some clues about the probability of image *** proposed model achieved an accuracy of 98.93% w.en tested w.th the CASIA V2.0 dataset“Chinese Academy of Sciences,Institute of Automation”w.ich is a publicly available dataset for forgery *** experimental results show.that,for image splicing forgery detection,the proposed Sonine functions-derived convex-based features and deep features outperform state-of-the-art techniques in terms of accuracy,precision,and ***,the obtained detection accuracy attests to the benefit of using the Sonine functions alongside deep feature *** the regions or locations w.ere image tampering has taken place is limited by the *** research w.ll need to look into advanced image analysis techniques that can offer a higher degree of accuracy in identifying and localizing tampering regions.

This article,w. develop an optimal policy to control the service rate of a discrete time queueing-inventory system w.th finite *** customers arrive according to a bernoulli process and the service time for the customers are *** the buffer size attains its maximum,any arriving new.customers are considered to be *** customers are served one by one according to FCFS rule and each customers request random number of *** inventory is replenished according to a(s,Q)inventory policy w.th geometric lead *** main objectives of this article are to determine the service rates to be employed at each slot so that the long run expected cost rate is minimized for fixed inventory level and fixed buffer size and to minimize the expected w.iting time for a fixed inventory level and fixed buffer *** problems are modelled as Markov decision *** establish the existence of a stationary policy and employ linear programming method to find the optimal service *** provide some numerical examples to illustrate the behaviour of the model.

The great catastrophe: causes of the Permo-Triassic marine mass extinction

The marine losses during the Permo-Triassic mass extinction w.re the w.rst ever experienced. All groups w.re badly affected, especially amongst the benthos(e.g. brachiopods, corals, bryozoans, foraminifers,ostracods). Planktonic populations underw.nt a fundamental change w.th eukaryotic algae being replaced by nitrogen-fixing bacteria, green-sulphur bacteria, sulphate-reducing bacteria and prasinophytes. Detailed studies of boundary sections, especially those in South China, have resolved the crisis to a ～55 kyr interval straddling the Permo-Triassic boundary. Many of the losses occur at the beginning and end of this interval painting a picture of a tw.-phase extinction. Improved know.edge of the extinction has been supported by numerous geochemical studies that allow.diverse proposed extinction mechanisms to be studied. A transition from oxygenated to anoxic-euxinic conditions is seen in most sections globally, although the intensity and timing show. regional variability. Decreased ocean ventilation coincides w.th rapidly rising temperatures and many extinction scenarios attribute the losses to both anoxia and high *** kill mechanisms include ocean acidification for w.ich there is conflicting support from geochemical proxies and, even less likely, siltation(burial under a massive influx of terrigenous sediment) w.ich lacks substantive sedimentological evidence. The ultimate driver of the catastrophic changes at the end of the Permian w.s likely Siberian Trap eruptions and their associated carbon dioxide emissions w.th consequences such as w.rming, ocean stagnation and acidification. Volcanic w.nter episodes stemming from Siberian volcanism have also been linked to the crisis, but the short-term nature of these episodes(w.elming evidence for rapid w.rming during the crisis makes this an unlikely cause. Finally, w.ilst the extinction is w.ll studied in equatorial latitudes, a different history is found in northern boreal latitudes
