An understanding of physiological disorders associated with ripening of fruits triggered by abiotic stress relies on anatomical and physico-chemical analyses, as it provide insights into their origin and probable causes. The objective of this study was to analyze different ripening disorders of grape (Vitis vinifera L.) berries by dissecting their morpho-anatomy, shriveling nature, and composition. Four well-defined disorders—sunburn, prolonged dehydration (PD), late-season bunch stem necrosis (LBSN), and berry shrivel (BS) were analyzed in field-grown grapevines of the cultivar Cabernet Sauvignon. Early bunch stem necrosis (EBSN) that occurred before ripening was also included in the study. Unlike healthy spherical berries, the pericarp of disordered berries except for sunburn shriveled causing concomitant reductions in fresh weight and volume. The exocarp of PD berries developed well-ordered indentations as distinct from the wrinkles in LBSN berries, whereas BS berries were flaccid with numerous skin folds. The epicuticular wax occurred as upright platelets in all shrivel forms excluding the sun-exposed hemisphere of sunburned berries. A chlorophyllous inflorescence framework persisted in all shrivel forms but in LBSN, wherein the necrotic regions developed tylosis. Unlike the translucent mesocarp of healthy, sunburned, and PD berries, the mesocarp was collapsed in BS and LBSN berries, nevertheless all had well-developed seeds. The composition of healthy berries was optimal, whereas the disordered berries were compositionally distinct from each other, which as a whole differed from the healthy berries. The BS berries had the lowest sugar content, and although sugar concentration was higher in LBSN, sunburned and PD berries, sugar amount per berry was highest in the healthy berries, the same was true for hexoses. The present study suggests an approximation for the construction of an effective density for geometry gradient evaluations in State-Averaged Density-Matrix Renormalization Group Self-Consistent Field（SA-DMRG-SCF）*** algorithm used here is based on the SA Multi-Configurational SCF（SA-MCSCF）gradient equation[1-3],in which Lagrange multipliers are indispensable in order to get a fully variational MCSCF state in the state-averaged ***,x is a coordinate,denotes the state,is the Lagrangian of given state energy,is the orbital Lagrange multiplier and is the CI Lagrange multiplier,p,q,r,s denote orbitals,denotes a determinant,and denotes any state-averaged state with *** solving for the Lagrange multipliers（and,together denoted as）used in the gradient equation,the linear response（LR）equation,where E[2]is the electronic Hessian,has to be constructed and *** there are no CI coefficients and the Hamiltonian is large in the DMRG algorithm,we use our sampling-reconstruction technique to construct the most important CI coefficients from a DMRG wavefunction[4]and then use the reconstructed CI coefficients together with the LR equation to get the Lagrange ***,the gradient equation can be solved,so that the geometry optimization aiming at a specific electronic state in SA-DMRG-SCF can be carried out.

In this work,we set up the Density-Matrix Renormalization Group（DMRG）interface in MOLCAS *** the DMRG interface,MOLCAS can handle a much larger active space（e.g,40 electrons in 40 orbitals）than that of the standard Full Configuration Iteration（FCI）method（at most 18 electrons in 18 orbitals）.At this stage,we already combined the DMRG with the"RASSCF"module in MOLCAS,so that one can use MOLCAS to do single-point DMRG-SCF calculations with or without state-averaged（SA）treatment,as well as geometry optimization with state-specific（SS）DMRG-SCF[1].The DMRG utility integrated in MOLCAS is a new and highly efficient program based on the MAQUIS DMRG project for quantum chemical DMRG calculations[2].The Matrix-Product-State（MPS）DMRG algorithm is used in this *** algorithm allows to 1)solve the Schrdinger equation in the orthogonal complement of one or several given states,and as such,the preserved states used in DMRG is quite small in contrast to the traditional DMRG algorithm in SA treatment;2)get 1’-,2’-or even higher reduced density matrices more straightforwardly than in the traditional DMRG[3],which is an advantage when combining DMRG with orbital optimization or multi-reference ***,spin-adapted MPS-DMRG,DMRG with perturbation theory,as well as geometry optimization of a specific state in SA-DMRG-SCF are under developing in our *** will also be included in Molcas in the near future.

AIM: To evaluate quality of life (QoL) after curative liver resection and identify variables associated with decreased QoL. METHODS: From October 2001 to July 2004, 323 patients underwent liver resection. At 3-36 mo after discharge, 188 patients were disease free. QoL was assessed using the Short Form (SF)-12 Health Survey with mental and physical component scales (SF-12 MCS and PCS), supplemented with generic questions concerning pain and liver-specific items. RESULTS: Sixty-eight percent (128/188) returned the questionnaire, which was completed in 75% (96/128) of cases. Median SF-12 PCS and MCS were 46.7 (inter- quartile range: 34.2-53.9) and 54.1 (42.8-58.2). Fifty percent were pain free with a median symptom score of 1.75 (1.38-2.13). PCS was higher after major hepatec-tomy [57% (55/96)] compared to minor resection (P = 0.0049), which represented an improved QoL. QoL was not affected by sex but by age compared to the general German population. MCS was higher after liver surgery for metastatic disease [55.9 (47.5-58.8)] compared to primary carcinoma [49.6 (36.5-55.1)] and benign disease [49.2 (37.7-56.3)] (P = 0.0317). There was no correlation between length of postoperative period and QoL. Pain, def iciencies in everyday life and a high symptom score significantly decreased MCS and PCS. CONCLUSION: Most patients were only marginally affected even after major liver resection; however, minor complications were associated with decreased SF-12 MCS and PCS and need careful attention.

Background: Inhibition of the lymphoma surface antigen CD40 by the antagonistic CD40 antibody NVP-HCD122 (HCD122) demonstrates activity in various lymphoma subtypes. In this preclinical in vivo study we examined the suitability of positron emission tomography (PET) using the thymidine analogue 3’-deoxy-3’-[18F]fluorothymidine (FLT) for early response assessment upon HCD122 treatment in diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL). Methods: Immunodeficient mice bearing human DLBCL xenografts (SU-DHL-4) received weekly intraperitoneal injections of HCD122. Tumor growth was followed up until Day 14. Molecular imaging with FLT-PET was performed before (Day 0) and after start of therapy (Day 2 and Day 7). On Day 14 lymphoma xenografts were explanted for immunohistochemical analysis to correlate PET findings with CD40 surface expression on tumor tissue. Results: Treatment with HCD122 significantly delayed tumor growth resulting in a tumor growth inhibition of 45% on Day 14. Significant reduction of tumor-to-background ratio (TBR) of FLT-PET was seen in treated animals on Day 7 and preceded change of tumor volume, thus predicting therapy response to HCD122. Immunohistochemical analysis of xenografts revealed significantly higher CD40 expression on treated than on untreated tissue. Moreover, we found a significant correlation between CD40 expression and FLT-PET response for xenograft tumor treated with HCD122. Conclusions: Treatment of DLBCL with the antagonistic CD40 antibody HCD122 can be monitored with FLT-PET as early as seven days after commencement of therapy and seems to increase CD40 expression on tumor tissue.

该报告主要介绍我们最近提出和实现的基于矩阵乘积态（MPS）波函数的二阶（second-order） DMRG-SCF [1,2]。该报告具体会涉及以下方面:1)基于Super-CI, Newton-Raphson和Werner-Meyer-Knowles（WMK）方法的多组态自洽场框架2)基于以上自洽场框架的DMRG-SCF的具体实现3)基于DMRG-SCF波函数的轨道-MPS耦合微扰方程的构建借鉴了WMK的二阶多组态自洽场框架[3],我们的二阶DMRG-SCF基于电子能量针对轨道变化量的完全二阶多项式展开,同时部分近似的三阶、四阶能量展开项通过二阶近似的哈密顿算符来引入,用以优化和加速收敛。在不考虑活性空间内轨道变化的情况下（即在CASSCF理论框架下忽略活性轨道-活性轨道之间的轨道旋转）,我们的DMRG-SCF可以仅在2到4次自洽场迭代（或者说四指标积分变换）后达到能量收敛;自洽迭代过程中所需要的DMRG扫描总步数也可大幅减少（如Fig.1所示）。
