Maize cobs are valuable plant residues that can be used for many different purposes,including as a renewable energy *** their value,maize cobs are still underutilized,mainly because people are not aware of their potential and harvesting techniques for their collection are still being ***,this research focused on finding the most suitable energy-and time-efficient method for mechanical collection of maize *** the combine harvester with an additional hopper proved to be the most promising solution,as it allows harvesting and storage of maize grain and maize cobs in one pass,while the harvesting time remains almost the same and the maize cobs are of good quality,as they do not fall on the field.A prototype with enlarged openings in the straw walkers,an additional grab container for maize cobs,a transport auger,a transport cleaning fan with built-in knives,a transport tube and some other assemblies was fabricated and used in *** first test results are very encouraging(94.4%-96.0%purity of maize cobs)and the system has been patented as a promising solution,especially in times when the environmental sustainability of the planet and energy independence are becoming increasingly important.

Novel agroformulations for simultaneous delivery of chemical and biologically active agents to the plants were prepared by encapsulation of Trichoderma viride spores in calcium alginate *** impact of calcium ions concentration on the viability and sporulation of *** spores as well as on the microsphere important physicochemical properties were *** interactions in microspheres are complex including mainly hydrogen bonds and electrostatic *** germination inside matrix and germ tubes penetration out of microspheres revealed calcium alginate microspheres provide a supportive environment for *** *** in physicochemical properties and bioactive agents release behaviour from microspheres were ascribed to the changes in microsphere *** to Korsmeyer-Peppas empirical model revealed the underlying *** release mechanism as anomalous transport kinetics(a combination of two diffusion mechanisms and the Type ii transport(polymer swelling and relaxation of the polymeric matrix)).The increasing amount of *** spores in the surrounding medium is closely related to the release from microspheres and *** rate controlling mechanism of calcium release is Fickian diffusion.A decrease in the release rate with increasing calcium ion concentrations is in accordance with the calcium ions effect on the strength of the alginate network *** germination inside microsphere diminished the amount of released calcium ions and slowed release kinetics in comparison with microspheres prepared without *** results indicated investigated agroformulations have a great potential to be used for plant protection and nutrition.

Tunable Super-Structured Fiber Bragg Gratings with perfect Sequences Based on m-Sequence

Recently, a tunable fiber Bragg grating(FBG) was developed by using stress-responsive colloidal crystals. in this paper, we have simulated the application of these nanoparticles into the super-structured fiber Bragg grating(SSFBG) written with perfect sequences derived from a short maximal-length sequence. A tunable SSFBG will be available to overcome the prohibitive temperature variation of the optical codecs. Nevertheless,we presented a method to implement coherent time spreading optical code-division multiple-access(OCDMA) where a unique code(or perfect sequence) can be reused and mixed with different wavelengths to obtain a tunable wavelength-division multiplexing(WDM)system. in order to maximize the binary throughput, we have selected a unique short maximal-length sequence composed of 7 chips that can be tuned with 7 different optical wavelengths. We found thousands of different tunable combinations that presented power contrast ratios(P/C) higher than 12 dB. When a WDM-OCDMA system used 2 different combinations simultaneously, the perfect binary detection with error correction codes was achieved successfully. The tunable SSFBG with colloidal crystals will be a simple and good alternative choice for fiber-to-the-home(FTTH) communications.
