The f.ctors that determine f.brosis progression or normal tissue repair are largely *** previously demonstrated that autophagy inhibition-mediated epithelial-mesenchymal transition(EMT)in human alveolar epithelial type Il(ATIl)cells augments local myof.broblast dif.erentiation in pulmonary f.brosis by paracrine ***,we report that liver kinase B1(LKB1)inactivation in ATIl cells inhibits autophagy and induces EMT as a *** IPf.lungs,this is caused by the down-regulation of.CAB39L,a key subunit within the LKB1 complex.3D co-cultures of.ATIl cells and MRC5 lung f.broblasts coupled with RNA sequencing(RNA-seq)conf.rmed that paracrine signaling between LKB1-depleted ATIl cells and f.broblasts augmented myof.broblast ***,these data suggest that reduced autophagy caused by LKB1 inhibition can induce EMT in ATIl cells and contribute to f.brosis via aberrant epithelial-f.broblast crosstalk.

Walkability is an essential aspect of.urban transportation systems. Properly designed walking paths can enhance transportation saf.ty, encourage pedestrian activity, and improve community quality of.lif.. This, in turn, can help achieve sustainable development goals in urban areas. This pilot study uses wearable technology data to present a new method f.r measuring pedestrian stress in urban environments and the results were presented as an interactive geographic inf.rmation system map to support risk-inf.rmed decision-making. The approach involves analyzing data f.om wearable devices using heart rate variability (RMSSD and slope analysis) to identif. high-stress locations. This data-driven approach can help urban planners and saf.ty experts identif. and address pedestrian stressors, ultimately creating saf.r, more walkable cities. The study addresses a signif.cant challenge in pedestrian saf.ty by providing insights into f.ctors and locations that trigger stress in pedestrians. During the pilot study, high-stress pedestrian experiences were identif.ed due to issues like pedestrian-scooter interaction on pedestrian paths, pedestrian behavior around high f.ot traf.ic areas, and poor visibility at pedestrian crossings due to inadequate lighting.

Airway management is a skill necessary f.r healthcare providers who manage patients. Intubation is a skill that both anesthesiologists and intensivists use daily. We present a case of.a neonate that developed signif.cant worsening stridor af.er a successf.l intubation f.r a hernia repair. Af.er 4 intubation attempts, with easy visualization of.the vocal cords and unsuccessf.l placement of.the endotracheal tube, the patient was emergently brought to the operating room f.r evaluation.

作为第一座加拿大华人庙宇,维市谭公庙经历了客家先民迁徙至此租木屋供谭公神像、买土地建谭公庙宇、遭遇排华火烧庙宇到搬驻人和会馆形成顶楼“人和庙”至今香火绵延的过程。一方面表现出加拿大客家人艰苦卓绝的异乡迁徙史和奋斗史,另一方面反映出客家人民间信俗特征及其海外移动的在地重构。谭公庙作为加拿大客家人营造的第一个神圣空间,它既是亲缘、地缘和神缘纽带,表现着加拿大客家人的族群身份认同;同时,又通过异国地方化的世代参与,共同打造出与家乡类似的神-人-物与地方的交叠互动场域。通感、仪式传承、文化记忆以及当下参与感又重构出“他乡犹吾境”的地方感,从中可窥见加拿大客家人历史性与当下性的生活图景和精神世界。
