Objective: To evaluate the recognition of NS4 B mimotope, as multiple antigen peptide(MAP), by dengue antibodies presents in serum samples from patients with different serotype infections. Methods: A MAP containing mimotope sequence was synthesized and used to evaluate the recognition of NS4 B mimotope as MAP by a panel of 66 human sera from dengue cases by an indirect ELISA assay. Results: The MAP differentiated between sera from dengue viruses infected patients and sera from healthy individuals and the best reactivity was shown by serum from dengue type 3 virus patients. The recognition was more intense with serum from patients with secondary infection. Conclusions: The findings suggest the potential use of NS4 B mimotope on the development of a multi-epitope diagnostic tool. These results are important for further immunogenicity studies.

In this paper, platoons of autonomous vehicles operating in urban road networks are considered. From a methodological point of view, the problem of interest consists of formally characterizing vehicle state trajectory tubes by means of routing decisions complying with traffic congestion criteria. To this end, a novel distributed control architecture is conceived by taking advantage of two methodologies: deep reinforcement learning and model predictive control. On one hand, the routing decisions are obtained by using a distributed reinforcement learning algorithm that exploits available traffic data at each road junction. On the other hand, a bank of model predictive controllers is in charge of computing the more adequate control action for each involved vehicle. Such tasks are here combined into a single framework:the deep reinforcement learning output(action) is translated into a set-point to be tracked by the model predictive controller;conversely, the current vehicle position, resulting from the application of the control move, is exploited by the deep reinforcement learning unit for improving its reliability. The main novelty of the proposed solution lies in its hybrid nature: on one hand it fully exploits deep reinforcement learning capabilities for decisionmaking purposes;on the other hand, time-varying hard constraints are always satisfied during the dynamical platoon evolution imposed by the computed routing decisions. To efficiently evaluate the performance of the proposed control architecture, a co-design procedure, involving the SUMO and MATLAB platforms, is implemented so that complex operating environments can be used, and the information coming from road maps(links,junctions, obstacles, semaphores, etc.) and vehicle state trajectories can be shared and exchanged. A Numerical Study on Piezoelectric Energy Harvesting by Combining Transverse Galloping and Parametric Instability Phenomena

This paper aims to numerically investigate the effects of parametric instability on piezoelectric energy harvesting from the transverse galloping of a square prism. A two degrees-of-freedom reduced-order model for this problem is proposed and numerically integrated. A usual quasi-steady galloping model is applied, where the transverse force coefficient is adopted as a cubic polynomial function with respect to the angle of attack. Time-histories of nondimensional prism displacement, electric voltage and power dissipated at both the dashpot and the electrical resistance are obtained as functions of the reduced velocity. Both, oscillation amplitude and electric voltage, increased with the reduced velocity for all parametric excitation conditions tested. For low values of reduced velocity, 2:1 parametric excitation enhances the electric voltage. On the other hand, for higher reduced velocities, a 1:1 parametric excitation(i.e., the same as the natural frequency) enhances both oscillation amplitude and electric voltage. It has been also found that, depending on the parametric excitation frequency, the harvested electrical power can be amplified in 70% when compared to the case under no parametric excitation.

This article examines below how the imposition of countervailing measures against Chinese products and the extension of antidumping duties by sunset reviews are expected after 2016,when China will be granted market economy status by the entire WTO community according to its Protocol of *** the result shows that subsidy investigations and sunset reviews of antidumping duties are likely to play a more important role than original dumping investigations in the next years. China will now have to demonstrate that its long and intense preparation in the WTO dispute settlement system,heavily focused on trade remedy disputes,was not in vain.

Fast neutron detection is a subject of great relevance in modem nuclear science and engineering, in particular, with the recent advances in nuclear fusion research, detection of fast neutron became a key issue. Nuclear properties of carbon are of special interest due to its relatively high capture cross section for fast neutrons. Devices made of silicon carbide and diamond are based on these properties, and so are being developed to be used with the proper wiring. In addition, in recent years carbon nano-tubes unveiled their electrical and mechamical properties, which can be exploited for neutron detection. In this work, we use MCNP5 Monte Carlo code to analyze the carbon nuclear properties and discuss the way nano-tubes can be used for fast neutron detection.

Tumor necrosis factor inhibitors(anti-TNFs)are widely used therapies for the treatment of inflammatory bowel diseases(IBD);however,their administration is not *** failure(HF),although rare,is a potential adverse event related to administration of these ***,the exact mechanism of development of HF remains ***αis found in both healthy and damaged *** effects are concentration-and receptor-dependent,promoting either cardio-protection or cardiomyocyte *** rat models with TNFαreceptor knockout showed increased survival rates,less reactive oxygen species formation,and improved diastolic left ventricle ***,clinical trials employing anti-TNF therapy to treat HF had disappointing results,suggesting abolishment of the cardioprotective properties of TNFα,making cardiomyocytes susceptible to apoptosis and ***,patients with IBD who have risk factors should be screened for HF before initiating anti-TNF *** review aims to discuss adverse events associated with the administration of anti-TNF therapy,with a focus on HF,and propose some approaches to avoid cardiac adverse events in patients with IBD.

The evaluation of labor competences is an important activity for proper management of human resources. To assess labor competences, different techniques have been proposed, but these proposals represent invasive mechanisms so that its implementation affects the efficiency of the project, and do not store the experiences for further processing. The aim of this paper is to propose two alternative algorithms to recover the evidences of performance of human resources by identifying their relationship with labor competences, using rough sets and text distance. The experimental application of the algorithms demonstrated efficiency levels in line with the human evaluators and efficiency improvement in the evaluation process, compared with methods like 360 degrees.

Effect of Molasses Addition at Ensiling on Ruminal In Situ Dry Matter and Nutrient Degradation of Whole-Plant Soybean Silage Harvested at Different Phenological Stages

Whole-plant soybean ensiling has limitations and challenges that affect silage fermentation patterns and reduce ruminal nutrient degradation. Perhaps either the addition of molasses at ensiling or harvesting at different phenological stages has the potential to enhance whole-plant soybean silage (WSS) ruminal degradation. This experiment was a completely randomized design with a 3 × 2 factorial arrangement of treatments evaluating the effects of molasses (0 and 40 g/kg fresh forage) and phenological stage (R5: beginning seed, R6: full seed, and R7: beginning maturity) on ruminal in situ degradation. Molasses increased effective ruminal degradability (ERD) of dry matter (DM) regardless of the phenological stage and increased ERD of crude protein at R5 and R6. The addition of molasses at later phenological stages increased ERD of neutral detergent fiber (NDF). There was a molasses × phenological stage interaction effect with greater fractions A and B of NDF at R7 and R5, respectively, but lower undegraded NDF at R5 and R6 with molasses addition. Although the benefits of adding molasses were more pronounced in R5 and R6, adding molasses to whole-plant soybean at ensiling is recommended regardless of phenological stage. Increasing the proportion of digestible nutrients at harvesting either by harvesting at later phenological stages or the addition of molasses is a powerful strategy to manage ruminal degradation of DM and nutrients in WSS.

Introduction: Neisseria is a large genus of bacteria that colonize mucosal surfaces. Of the 11 species that colonize humans, only two are pathogens, N. meningitidis and N. gonorrhoeae. Both are obligate human pathogens;the last is causal agent of gonorrhea disease. Although curable with timely antibiotic treatment, an annual incidence of more than 62 million cases is estimated by the World Health Organization and there are no successful vaccines available. In contrast, several prophylactic vaccine options for Neisseria meningitidis meningitis do exist. Of note, there is trace of cross parenteral response induced between N. meningitidis and N. gonorrhoeae, and Proteoliposome (PL, also named outer membrane vesicles, OMV) vaccine has shown high impact on this response. Objective: To determine effect of VAMENGOC-BC? and its derivates (AFPL1 and AFCo1) at mucosal and systemic level and possible cross response against Neisseria gonhorroeae in Balb/c and C57Bl/6 mice. Methods: We evaluated cross response against N. gonorrhoeae in mouse serum IgG and saliva IgA after mucosal immunization with VA-MENGOC-BC or its derivatives (AF, Adjuvant Finlay PL1 or AFCo (cochleate) 1). Results: Immunizations with AFPL1 or AFCo1 induce anti N. gonorrhoeae at saliva IgA and serum IgG responses similar to VA-MENGOC-BC? vaccine. Conclusions: Such data confirms a new possible window of prime-boost vaccination strategy against gonorrhea and extends our knowledge regarding the effect of PL vaccines on cross responses.
