Patients with Crohn’s disease(CD)are at a considerable risk for intestinal *** 25%of patients with CD will undergo an intestinal resection within 10 years of *** complications after CD surgery have been reported in 20%-47%of the *** general and CD-related risk factors are associated with postoperative complications,and comprise non-modifiable(e.g.,age)and potentially modifiable risk factors(e.g.,malnutrition).Prehabilitation focuses on the preoperative period with strategies designed to optimize modifiable risk factors concerning the physical and mental condition of the individual *** aim of prehabilitation is to enhance postoperative recovery and return to or even improve preoperative functional *** improvement of nutritional status,physical fitness,cessation of smoking,psychological support,and critical revision of preoperative use of CD medication are important *** of the effect on postoperative outcome in CD patients are scarce,and guidelines lack recommendations on tailored *** this opinion review,we review the current evidence on the impact of screening and management of nutritional status,physical fitness,CD medication and laboratory values on the postoperative course following an intestinal resection in CD *** addition,we aim to provide guidance for individualized multimodal prehabilitation in clinical practice concerning these modifiable factors.

Merging bound states in the continuum in an open acoustic resonator

Bound states in the continuum （BICs） are perfectly localized resonances despite embedding in the continuum ***,an isolated BIC is very sensitive to the structure ***,we report merging acoustic BICs in a single open resonator,robust against the structure *** find that both symmetry-protected BIC and friedrich-Wintgen BIC are sustained in a single coupled waveguide-resonator *** varying the height and length of the resonator,these two BICs move toward each other and merge into a single one at a critical *** to an individual BIC,the merged BIC is robust against fabrication error because its Q-factor is proportional to ΔL-4,whereΔL embodies the structure *** essence of this extraordinary phenomenon is perfectly explained by the two-and three-level approximations of the effective nonHermitian ***,we present direct experimental demonstrations of the moving and merging of BICs in a coupled 3D waveguide-resonator,which are evidenced by the vanishing of the linewidth of fano resonance in the transmission *** results may find exciting applications in designing high-quality acoustic sources,sensors and filters.

Nonlinear Propagation of Positron-Acoustic Periodic Travelling Waves in a Magnetoplasma with Superthermal electrons and Positrons

The nonlinear propagation of positron acoustic periodic （PAP） travelling waves in a magnetoplasma composed of dynamic cold positrons, superthermal kappa distributed hot positrons and electrons, and stationary positive ions is examined. The reductive perturbation technique is employed to derive a nonlinear Zakharov Kuznetsov equation that governs the essential features of nonlinear PAP travelling waves. Moreover, the bifurcation theory is used to investigate the propagation of nonlinear PAP periodic travelling wave solutions. It is found that kappa distributed hot positrons and electrons provide only the possibility of existence of nonlinear compressive PAP travelling waves. It is observed that the superthermality of hot positrons, the concentrations of superthermal electrons and positrons, the positron cyclotron frequency, the direction cosines of wave vector k along the z-axis, and the concentration of ions play pivotal roles in the nonlinear propagation of PAP travelling waves. Tile present investigation may be used to understand the formation of PAP structures in the space and laboratory plasmas with superthermal hot positrons and electrons.

Wavevector filtering through Monolayer and Bilayer Graphene Superlattices

We investigate the transport properties through monolayer and bilayer graphene superlattices modulated by an in-plane homogeneous electric field based on the transfer matrix *** is found that the angular range of the transmission probability through a graphene superlattice can be effectively controlled by the number of barriers and this results in the structure having efficient wavevector *** the number of barriers increases,this range *** is also shown that the conductance of the systems has an oscillatory behavior with respect to the barrier height and it decreases with the increasing number of barriers.

faddeev calculations on lambda hypertriton with potentials from Gel'fand–Levitan–Marchenko theory

effective lambda-proton and lambda-neutron potentials,restored from theoretical scattering phases through Gel'fand–Levitan–Marchenko theory,are tested on a lambda hypertriton through three-body *** lambda hypertriton is treated as a three-body system consisting of lambda-proton,lambda-neutron and proton–neutron *** energy and root mean square radius are computed for the ground state of lambda hypertriton(Jp=12+).In coordinate space,the dynamics of the system is described using a set of coupled hyperradial equations obtained from the differential faddeev *** solving the eigenvalue problem derived from this set of coupled hyperradial equations,the binding energy and root mean square matter radius computed are found to be-2.462 MeV and 7.00 fm,*** potentials are also shown to display a satisfactory convergence behaviour.

Precision bending of high-quality components for volume applications

Recent new technology developments were presented in the field of industrial bending operations,including flexible stretch forming and 3D rotary stretch *** were made to give an overview of different mechanisms that influence dimensional accuracy,including local cross-sectional deformations such as suck-in and volume conservation effects,along with global deformations such as *** analytical model was developed to determine the particular influence of different material,geometry and process parameters on dimensional variability of bent *** results were discussed in terms of overall process capability(Cp) and associated process *** results show that different governing mechanisms prevail in various bending operations,meaning that attention has to be placed on controlling those process parameters that really are important to part quality in each specific *** strategies may be defined for reducing *** alternative may be to design more robust process and tool technology that reduce the effect of upstream parameters on dimensional variability of the formed *** results show that optimal tool design and technology may in specific cases improve the dimensional accuracy of a formed *** on the findings discussed herein,it is concluded that advances in industrial bending operations require focus on improving the understanding of mechanical mechanisms,including models and parameter development,new technology developments,including process,tool,measurement and control capabilities,and process discipline at the shop floor,combined with a basic philosophy of controlling process parameters rather than part attributes.

A comprehensive study for mass attenuation coefficients of different parts of the human body through Monte Carlo methods

The gamma-ray mass attenuation coefficients of blood,bone,lung,eye lens,adipose,tissue,muscle,brain and skin were calculated at different energies(60,80,150,400,500,600,1000,1250,1500,and 2000 keV) by various theoretical methods such as fLUKA,GeANT4 Monte Carlo(MC) methods and XCOM program in this *** coefficients were also compared with the National Institute of Standards and Technology(NIST) *** results were highly in accordance with each other and NIST *** results showed that fLUKA was quite convenient in comparison to GeANT4 in the calculation of the mass attenuation coefficients of the used human body samples for low-energy photons(60,80,and 150 keV) when compared with the NIST values.

ASYMPTOTIC LIMITS AND STABILIZATION fOR THe 1D NONLINeAR MINDLIN-TIMOSHeNKO SYSTeM

This paper shows how the so called von Karman model can be obtained as a singular limit of a modified Mindlin-Timoshenko system when the modulus of elasticity in shear κ tends to infinity, provided a regularizing term through a fourth order dispersive operator is added. Introducing damping mechanisms, the authors also show that the energy of solutions for this modified Mindlin-Timoshenko system decays exponentially, uniformly with respect to the parameter k. As κ→∞, the authors obtain the damped von Karman model with associated energy exponentially decaying to zero as well.

Relationship between gastrointestinal and extra-gastrointestinal symptoms and delayed gastric emptying in functional dyspeptic patients

AIM: Delayed gastric emptying and an enlarged fasting gastric antrum are common findings in functional dyspepsia but their relationship with gastrointestinal (GI), and the frequently associated extra-GI symptoms remains *** study evaluated the relationship between GI and extra-GI symptoms, fasting antral volume and delayed gastric emptying in functional ***: In 108 functional dyspeptic patients antral volume and gastric emptying were assessed with ultrasonography (US). Symptoms were assessed with standardized questionnaire. The association of symptoms and fasting antral volume with delayed gastric emptying was estimated with logistic regression ***: Delayed gastric emptying was detected in 39.8% of the patients. Postprandial drowsiness (AOR 11.25; 95%CI 2.75-45.93), nausea (AOR 3.51; 95%CI 1.19-10.32), fasting antral volume (AOR 1.93; 95%CI 1.22-3.05), were significantly associated with delayed gastric emptying. Symptoms, mainly the extra-GI ones as postprandial drowsiness and nausea, combined with fasting antral volume predicted the modality of gastric emptying with a sensitivity and specificity of 78%.CONCLUSION: In functional dyspeptic patients, (1) an analysis of fasting antral volume and of symptoms can offer valuable indication on the modality of gastric emptying,and (2) it seems appropriate to inquire on postprandial drowsiness that showed the best correlation with delayed gastric emptying.

Bile duct ligation in rats: A reliable model of hepatorenal syndrome?

The two most widely used experimental models of advanced liver disease are the administration of carbon tetrachloride, and common bile duct ligation (BDL), however, neither has been systematically evaluated as a model of hepatorenal syndrome (HRS). The BDL model in rats, studied at diverse time points, induced a progressive renal dysfunction without structural changes in the kidney. The authors concluded that BDL is a good model for further studies of HRS and its treatment. However, the renal impairment observed at the acute phase of the BDL model is based on a different pathophysiology than that of HRS. Specifi cally, in acute obstructive jaundice, cholemia predominates over parenchymal liver disease (reversible at this stage without portal hypertension or cirrhosis) and independently induces negative inotropic and chronotropic effects on the heart, impaired sympathetic vasoconstriction response and profound natriuresis and diuresis that might lead to volume depletion. In addition, systemic endotoxemia contributes to the prerenal etiology of renal impairment and promotes direct nephrotoxicity and acute tubular necrosis. On the other hand, the renal failure observed in the chronic BDL model (with development of biliary cirrhosis, portal hypertension and ascites) shares pathophysiological similarities with HRS, but the accordance of the chronic BDL model to the diagnostic criteria of HRS (e.g. absence of spontaneous bacterial peritonitis, no renal function improvement after plasma volume expansion) should have been confirmed. In conclusion, we think that the BDL model is not suitable for the study of the natural history of HRS, but the chronic BDL model might be valid for the study of established HRS and its potential therapies.
