The ability to accurately predict urban traffic flows is crucial for optimising city ***,various methods for forecasting urban traffic have been developed,focusing on analysing historical data to understand complex mobility *** learning techniques,such as graph neural networks(GNNs),are popular for their ability to capture spatio-temporal ***,these models often become overly complex due to the large number of hyper-parameters *** this study,we introduce Dynamic Multi-Graph Spatial-Temporal Graph Neural Ordinary Differential Equation Networks(DMST-GNODE),a framework based on ordinary differential equations(ODEs)that autonomously discovers effective spatial-temporal graph neural network(STGNN)architectures for traffic prediction *** comparative analysis of DMST-GNODE and baseline models indicates that DMST-GNODE model demonstrates superior performance across multiple datasets,consistently achieving the lowest Root Mean Square Error(RMSE)and Mean Absolute Error(MAE)values,alongside the highest *** the BKK(Bangkok)dataset,it outperformed other models with an RMSE of 3.3165 and an accuracy of 0.9367 for a 20-min interval,maintaining this trend across 40 and 60 ***,on the PeMS08 dataset,DMST-GNODE achieved the best performance with an RMSE of 19.4863 and an accuracy of 0.9377 at 20 min,demonstrating its effectiveness over longer *** Los_Loop dataset results further emphasise this model’s advantage,with an RMSE of 3.3422 and an accuracy of 0.7643 at 20 min,consistently maintaining superiority across all time *** numerical highlights indicate that DMST-GNODE not only outperforms baseline models but also achieves higher accuracy and lower errors across different time intervals and datasets.

Maximising access to and the success of fertility treatments should be a priority for global reproductive health,as should overall patient *** demand for in vitro fertilization(IVF)and other assisted fertility treatments has increased over the past decade and is likely to further increase in years to ***,there is still considerable unmet demand for infertility support ***,the high emotional,physical and financial burden experienced by individuals undergoing IVF cycles can be a risk for their mental and physical health,which in turn can influence treatment continuation and the likelihood of IVF *** from various parts of the world show that most individuals undergoing IVF also use adjunct alternative medicines and procedures,the most common being traditional Chinese medicine(TCM).The complementary and synergistic role of TCM for individuals undergoing IVF is an area that merits further attention and research,both for its potential positive effects on IVF success rates and for its broader physical and mental health ***,much of the existing evidence is not sufficiently robust or consistent for findings to be adopted with *** commentary argues that much work must be done to understand the efficacy and clinical best practices for these integrated *** can be achieved in part by developing more robust and clinically relevant randomized controlled trial protocols,collecting and triangulating evidence through a variety of study designs and methods,and strengthening the collection and pooling of clinic-level data.

Relations between the structure, ionic conductivity and dielectric properties of fluoride systems of different structures containing rare earth elements were presented. Superionic conductivities, by fluoride ions, of fluorite-structured （MF2-REF3, M=Ba, Pb, RE=La-Lu, Sc, Y）, orthorhombic （REF3, RE=Tb-Er, Y）, tysonite-structured （REF3-MF2, RE=La-Nd, M=Sr）, monoclinic （BaRE2Fs, RE=Ho-Yb, Y） fluoride single crystals and eutectic composites （LiF-REF3, RE=La-Gd, Y） were compared. Anisotropy of electrical properties of crystals with a lower symmetry was explained by modeling optimum ionic paths. For explanation of concentration dependences of fast ionic conductivity, models of aggregation of defects into clusters were proposed. In fluorite-structured crystals, the highest ionic conductivity was found for PbF2：7 mol% ScF3 （at 500 K, σ500=0.13 S/cm）. In tysonite-structured crystals, the highest ionic conductivity was found for LaF3：3 mol% SrF2 （σ500=2.4×10^-2 S/cm）. Different types of coordination polyhedrons and their different linking in orthorhombic and tysonite structure explained large differences between conductivities in both structures. Eutectic systems, prepared as directionally solidified composites, enabled to study some orthorhombic fluoride phases （GdF3, SmF3）, which cannot be prepared as single crystals. An influence of the orthorhombic-tysonite phase transition on the ionic conductivity was shown.

To investigate the mechanism of the antiproliferative effect of synthetic indole phytoalexin derivatives on human colorectal cancer cell lines. METHODSChanges in cell proliferation and the cytotoxic effect of the tested compounds on human colorectal cancer cell lines and human fibroblasts were evaluated using MTS and BrdU assay, allowing us to choose the most potent substance. Cell cycle alterations were analyzed using flow cytometric analysis. The apoptosis-inducing effect of compound K-453 on the HCT116 cell line was examined with annexin V/PI double staining using flow cytometry, as well as acridine orange/propidium iodide (AO/PI) staining. The flow cytometry method also allowed us to measure changes in levels or activation states of other factors associated with apoptosis, such as poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP), caspase-3 and -9, cytochrome c, Bcl-2 family proteins, and also the integrity of the mitochondrial membrane. To evaluate activity of the transcription factors and proteins involved in signaling pathways we used Western blot analysis together with flow cytometry. RESULTSAmong the ten tested compounds, compound K-453 {(±)-trans-1,2-dimethoxy-2’-(3,5-bis-trifluoromethylphenylamino)spiro{indoline-3,5’[4’,5’]dihydrothiazol} exhibited the most potent activity with IC50 = 32.22 ± 1.14 μmol/L in human colorectal HCT116 cells and was thus selected for further studies. Flow cytometric analysis revealed a K-453-induced increase in the population of cells with sub-G1 DNA content, which is considered as a marker of apoptotic cell death. The apoptosis-inducing effect of compound K453 was also confirmed by annexin V/PI double staining and AO/PI staining. The apoptosis was associated with the loss of mitochondrial membrane potential, PARP cleavage, caspase-3 and caspase-9 activation, release of cytochrome c, as well as changes in the levels of Bcl-2 family members. Studies of metabolic variation in birds have involved both wild and captive individuals, but few studies have investi- gated whether captivity directly influences metabolic rates, despite such variation potentially confounding conclusions regarding how metabolic rates respond to the conditions under study. In addition, whether short-term captivity influences metabolic rate re- peatability in birds is currently uninvestigated. In this study, we measured Msum （maximal cold-induced metabolic rates） in sum- mer acclimatized American goldfinches Spinus tristis directly after capture from wild populations, after approximately 2 weeks of indoor captivity （Captive 1）, and again after an additional 1-2 weeks of captivity （Captive 2）. M~ increased significantly （16.9%） following the initial captive period, but remained stable thereafter. Body mass （Mb） also increased significantly （9.2%） during the initial captive period but remained stable thereafter, suggesting that muscle growth and/or remodeling of body composition pro- duced the observed metabolic variation. Mb and Msum were not significantly repeatable between wild and Captive 1 birds, but were significantly repeatable between Captive 1 and Captive 2 groups. These data suggest that caution must be exercised when extrapolating metabolic rates from short-term captive to wild populations. In addition, Msum was a repeatable trait for birds under conditions where mean metabolic rates remained stable, but Msum repeatability disappeared during acclimation to conditions pro- moting phenotypically flexible metabolic responses. This suggests that the capacity for phenotypic flexibility varies among indi- viduals, and such variation could have fitness consequences

Ischemia as a serious neurodegenerative disorder causes together with reperfusion injury many changes in nervous tissue. Most of the neuronal damage is caused by complex of biochemical reactions and substantial processes, such as protein agregation, reactions of free radicals, insufficient blood supply, glutamate excitotoxicity, and oxidative stress. The result of these processes can be apoptotic or necrotic cell death and it can lead to an irreversible damage. Therefore, neuroprotection and prevention of the neurodegeneration are highly important topics to study. There are several approaches to prevent the ischemic damage. Use of many modern therapeutical methods and the incorporation of several substances into the diet of patients is possible to stimulate the endogenous protective mechanisms and improve the life quality.

The chemical communication system in Drosophila melanogaster Meigen,1830 plays a major role in courtship and consists of the male-specific cis-Vaccenyl acetate and sex-specific contact pheromones,cuticular hydrocarbons(CHC),which build up during ontogeny(first 4 days).They replace longer CHCs,common to both sexes and present only after the imaginal eclosion.A detailed quantitative description of the evolution of cuticular unsaturated hydrocarbons with age is presented here for males and females of different *** strains,which have been bred in well controlled *** appear in both sexes at around 12 h,before female *** present paper argues that this is likely linked to the switching on of a new set of ***,which is more abundant in females than in males during this critical period,might control this *** behavioral studies show that whereas female of all ages trigger early mature male courtship steps like wing vibration,only females older than 1 day trigger late courtship steps like attempted *** supports the hypothesis that late male courtship steps might be triggered by the CHCs,which build up after this age,especially female-specific(Z,Z)-7,11-and(Z,Z)-5,9-dienes.

Infectious burden and atherosclerosis: A clinical issue

Atherosclerotic cardiovascular diseases, chronic inflam-matory diseases of multifactorial etiology, are the lead-ing cause of death worldwide. In the last decade, more infectious agents, labeled as "infectious burden", rather than any single pathogen, have been showed to con-tribute to the development of atherosclerosis through different mechanisms. Some microorganisms, such as Chlamydia pneumoniae(C. pneumoniae), human cytomegalovirus, etc. may act directly on the arterial wall contributing to endothelial dysfunction, foam cell formation, smooth muscle cell proliferation, platelet ag-gregation as well as cytokine, reactive oxygen specie, growth factor, and cellular adhesion molecule produc-tion. Others, such as Helicobacter pylori(H. pylori), in-fluenza virus, etc. may induce a systemic inflammation which in turn may damage the vascular wall(e.g., by cytokines and proteases). Moreover, another indirect mechanism by which some infectious agents(such as H. pylori, C. pneumoniae, periodontal pathogens, etc.) may play a role in the pathogenesis of atherosclero-sis is molecular mimicry. Given the complexity of the mechanisms by which each microorganism may con-tribute to atherosclerosis, defining the interplay of moreinfectious agents is far more difficult because the pro-atherogenic effect of each pathogen might be ampli-fied. Clearly, continued research and a greater aware-ness will be helpful to improve our knowledge on the complex interaction between the infectious burden and atherosclerosis.
