Potential advantages of active electrode nanomaterials have led to development of high energy and power density lithium-ion(Li-ion)***,under increasing demand for critical resources such as lithium and cobalt,it is necessary to use abundant raw materials,which can be obtained from industrial *** this work,purified Mg(OH)_(2)from waste generated in the production of Li2CO3 with natural brines from the Salar de Atacama(Chile)is used as a doping agent for synthesis of LiMn_(2)O_(4)(LMO)spinel octahedral nanoparticles co-doped with excess Li and *** of a pure cubic spinel phase(Fd3m)takes place at 500℃and sintering temperature effect at 580 and 750℃,thus the elemental composition and the structural,morphological,and electrochemical properties are studied in *** electrochemical performance at room temperature is obtained for Li_(1.03)Mg_(0.05)Mn_(1.92)O_(4)spinel sintered at 750℃with an initial discharge capacity of 121.3 mAh·g^(-1)and capacity retention of 94.0%after 100 cycles at C/3.A locally ordered spinel structure is obtained at 750℃,and doping with Mg^(2+)improves structural *** between both effects resulted in a high Li^(+)diffusion rate(1.29×10^(-9)cm^(2)·s^(-1))significantly improving cycling performance at elevated C-rates in 50℃.

The building industry is associated with several environmental *** consid-ering the total building lifecycle,the use phase has a strong influence on the level of *** to the literature,the use phase of residential buildings repre-sents up to 92%of energy consumption,constitutes 95%of water consumption(indoor and outdoor),accounts for 45%of the weight of materials used,and pro-duces 50%of the waste(maintenance,repair,and renovation).Green building and certification programs used in North America,such as BOMA-BESt®,LEED®,and Living Building ChallengeTM,aim to reduce the environmental footprint of ***,while these certifications provide a useful framework for practices related to buildings and their systems,a documentary analysis shows that they do not ade-quately take into account the use phase of residential *** purpose of this paper is to show that consideration of the use phase is inconsistent with the impacts associated with it.

The compressive strength of concrete is one of most important mechanical parameters in the performance assessment of existing reinforced concrete *** to various international codes,core samples are drilled and tested to obtain the concrete compressive ***-destructive testing is an important alternative when destructive testing is not feasible without damaging the *** commonly used non-destructive testing(NDT)methods to estimate the in-situ values include the rebound hammer test and the Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity *** poor reliability of these tests due to different aspects could be partially contrasted by using both methods together,as *** the Sonreb *** are three techniques that are commonly used to predict the compressive strength of concrete based on the Sonreb measurements:computational modeling,artificial intelligence,and parametric multi-variable regression *** a previous study the accuracy of the correlation formulas deduced from the last technique has been investigated in comparison with the effective compressive strengths based on destructive test results on core drilled in adjacent *** aim of this study is to verify the accuracy of Artificial Neural Approach comparing the estimated compressive strengths based on NDT measured parameters with the same effective compressive *** comparisons show the best performance of ANN approach.

The objective of this paper is to show that the Analytic Hierarchy Process （AHP） is a very powerful methodology for designing shiftwork schedules. Manufacturing, mining and other large industrial operations often run around the clock and their employees report for work in shifts. The huge number of variables and the amount of knowledge that needs to be structured, integrated and synthesized forces the need for a system analysis process that is able to deal with such complexity. Work flexibility is a very important issue in Chile and in the rest of the world. One of the main problems of a flexible work process is handling shiftwork systems with their economic, health, social, family and environmental consequences.

SiC_(p)/Al composites are difficult-to-cut *** recent years,electrical arc discharge machining has been developed to improve the machinability of these ***,there is a big challenge to build a satisfactory heat transfer model of SiC_(p)/Al composites in the arc *** is not only because of the material property difference between the reinforcement and matrix material but also because of the micro-dimension Si C *** paper established a new heat conduction simulation model considering the Si C particle-Al matrix interface and the phase change effects in a single-pulsed arc discharge of SiC_(p)/Al composites.A novel Si C particle-Al matrix cell geometric model was designed ***,the temperature distribution at a different depth from the workpiece surface was analyzed,the influence of sic volume fraction on temperature field was studied,and the contribution of the interface thermal resistance and latent heat were *** demonstrate the validity of the new numerical model,comparisons and verifications were ***,the method of improving the model was proposed and the machining mechanism of arc discharge of SiC_(p)/Al matrix materials was *** was found that high temperature is prone to concentrate on the surface layers of the workpiece especially when the Si C fraction is high,also,the temperature fluctuates respectively at the evaporation point of aluminum and Si C,and the Si C-Al resistance has less influence on temperature distribution compared to latent heat,*** model build in this work improves the simulation accuracy observably compared to the previous model,and the simulation work will help to acquire a detailed mechanism of material removal of SiC_(p)/Al composites in the arc discharge machining.

The treatment of microscopic colitis is mainly based on the use of budesonide, the only drug found effective in controlled clinical trials. After an initial course at a dose of 9 mg daily, however, most patients relapse when the drug is discontinued, hence a maintenance therapy at doses of 6 mg daily or lower is necessary. In order to avoid steroid dependence and drug toxicity different pharmacological agents should be considered as an alternative to indefinite long-term budesonide treatment. Evidence-based guidelines are currently lacking due to the lack of conclusive data concerning the use of either immunosuppressive or anti-tumor necrosis factor agents. For the time being in clinical practice the skilled physician should therefore tailor long term management of microscopic colitis on the single patient.

Urbanization of species is an ongoing process where successful urban colonizers usually obtain large fitness benefits. Mechanisms proposed to explain associations between urbanization and lifehistory traits are based on behavioral flexibility in food and habitat use and reduced fear responses. We test the novel hypothesis that interspecific competition for proximity to humans is driving ur- banization. We recorded the distance during the breeding season to human habitation for 50 pairs of closely related bird species, where one was closely associated with humans while the other species was not. The degree of urbanization was larger as was range size and abundance in the species more closely associated to humans. Flight initiation distance was shorter, and species closely associated with humans were more abundant in ancestral rural habitats. Likewise, species more closely associated with humans reproduced earlier and during longer periods. These results are consistent with the hypothesis that urbanization is promoted by interspecific competition. resulting isolation by urban habitat may further facilitate contemporary adaptation to urban environments.

renewable energy is clearly a very important topic nowadays. The risk and the damage that could be caused by conventional energy resources cannot be hidden. There is an enormous need that people start formulating a better attitude towards renewable energy and change their consumption behaviour. Otherwise, the future of environment and the coming generations is defiantly not going to be promising. This paper will discuss the importance of sustainable energy and how the energy related behaviour is created. It will present a framework to influence the current behaviour and push it to be more green oriented. It is also important to know till what limit are governments responsible in this change, and what are the tools that they have to push towards green direction.

Enteric intussusception caused by primary intestinalmalignant melanoma is a very rare cause of *** herein present a case of a 42-yearold female patient with no prior medical history ofmalignant melanoma,who was admitted with persistentabdominal pain,nausea,and vomiting.A computedtomography scan revealed an intestinal obstruction dueto ileocolic *** emergency laparoscopy and subsequent laparotomy revealed multiple small solid tumors across the whole small *** oncologic resection was not feasible due to the insufficient length of the remaining small *** a small segment of ileum,which included the largest tumors causing the intussusception,was *** pathologic examination revealed two intestinal malignant melanoma lesions.A systematic clinical examination,endoscopic procedures,and fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography-computed tomography scan all failed to reveal any indication of cutaneous,anal,or retinal ***,the tumor was classified as a primary intestinal malignant melanoma with multiple intestinal *** a complete oncologic resection of tumors was not possible,in order to prevent future intestinal obstruction,a surgical resection of the largest lesions was performed with palliative *** epidemiology,clinical m a n i fe s t a t i o n s,d i a g n o s i s a n d m a n a g e m e n t o f primary intestinal malignant melanoma,and intestinal intussusception in adults are discussed along with a review of the current literature.
