High-and medium-entropy alloys(HEAs and MEAs)possess high solid-solution *** investigations have been conducted on its impact on yield strength,however,there are limited reports regarding the relation between solid-solution strengthening and strain-hardening *** addition,no attempt has been made to account for the dislocation-mediated plasticity;most works focused on twinning-or transformation-induced plasticity(TWIP or TRIP).In this work we reveal the role of solidsolution strengthening on the strain-hardening rate via systematically investigating evolutions of deformation structures by controlling the Cr/V ratio in prototypical V_(1-x)Cr_(x)CoNi *** the TWIP of CrCoNi with the dislocation slip of V_(0.4)Cr_(0.6)CoNi,the hardening rate of CrCoNi was superior to slip-band refinements of V_(0.4)Cr_(0.6)CoNi due to the dynamic Hall-Petch ***,as V content increased further to V_(0.7)Cr_(0.3)CoNi and VCoNi,their rate of slip-band refinement in V_(0.7)Cr_(0.3)CoNi and VCoNi with high solid-solution strength surpassed that of *** it is generally accepted in conventional alloys that deformation twinning results in a higher strain-hardening rate than dislocation-mediated plasticity,we observed that the latter can be predominant in the former under an activated huge solid-solution strengthening *** high solid-solution strength lowered the cross-slip activation and consequently retarded the dislocation rearrangement rate,i.e.,the dynamic *** delay in the hardening rate decrease,therefore,increased the strain-hardening rate,results in an overall higher strain-hardening rate of V-rich alloys.

A Hybrid Vision Method for Autonomous Guided Vehicle Navigation

For the autonomous guided vehicle (AGV) used mainly in unfixed work fields, a machine vision method was proposed for the navigation system, in which a series of navigation-signs are placed along the travel route. The navigation system detects and recognizes these signs, and accordingly informs the travel control system. In order for the navigation to have balanced ability of 1) covering a large area and 2) recognizing details of the sign, the proposed vision method was designed to be a hybrid one, using both the stereo vision and the traditional 2D template matching. The former implemented a coarse recognition function for above 1), and the later implemented a fine recognition function for above 2). The results from the coarse recognition were used in the fine recognition for the gaze control to input suitable 2D image of the signs. Experiments on a prototype system show the feasibility of the proposed hybrid method in achieving the objective specifications for a typical AGV.

Mesenchymal stem stromal cells(MSC)are characterized by the intriguing capacity to home toward cancer cells after systemic ***,MSC can be harnessed as targeted delivery vehicles of cytotoxic agents against *** cancer patients,MSC based advanced cellular therapies were shown to be safe but their clinical efficacy was ***,the amount of systemically infused MSC actually homing to human cancer masses is insufficient to reduce tumor ***,induction of an unequivocal anticancer cytotoxic phenotype in expanded MSC is necessary to achieve significant therapeutic *** vivo cell modifications are,thus,required to improve anti-cancer properties of *** based cellular therapy products must be handled in compliance with good manufacturing practice(GMP)*** the present review we include MSCimproving manipulation approaches that,even though actually tested at preclinical level,could be compatible with GMP *** particular,we describe possible approaches to improve MSC homing on cancer,including genetic engineering,membrane modification and cytokine ***,we discuss appropriate modalities aimed at inducing a marked cytotoxic phenotype in expanded MSC by direct chemotherapeutic drug loading or by genetic *** conclusion,we suggest that,to configure MSC as a powerful weapon against cancer,combinations of clinical grade compatible modification protocols that are currently selected,should be introduced in the final *** standardized cancer clinical trials are required to test the efficacy of ameliorated MSC based cell therapies.

Aim:Malignant pleural mesothelioma is a chemoresistant tumor,and biphasic and sarcomatoid histologies portend the worst prognosis for malignant pleural mesothelioma(MPM)*** obtained the microRNA expression profile of three biphasic-sarcomatoid MPM cell lines to identify commonly expressed microRNAs and evaluate the effect of butein,a chemo-sensitizing compound,on this microRNA ***:Nanostring-based microRNA profiling and analysis through the ROSALIND platform were employed to identify the commonly modulated microRNAs and their ***-mimic transfection,Luciferase assay,and Western blotting were employed to show specific perturbation of TWIST1 levels by ***-forming assays,invasion assay,and metabolic profiling were used to assess the biological consequences of the butein-instigated miR-186-5p-mediated perturbation of TWIST1 *** analysis was used to search for the correlation between TWIST1 and miR-186-5p levels in biphasic and epithelioid MPM ***:We identified a set of perturbed microRNAs,common to three biphasic/sarcomatoid MPM cell lines,after butein *** focusing on miR-186-5p,we unraveled a butein-ignited and miR-186-5p-mediated modulation of TWIST1 levels which affected the 3D anchorage-independent growth,cisplatin resistance,invasion,and bioenergetics of the MPM cell lines *** showed that miR-186-5p and TWIST1 levels are anti-correlated in biphasic MPM specimens from ***:We unraveled a novel mechanism of action of butein,which attenuated the pro-tumorigenic features of MPM at least through a miR-186-5p-TWIST1 *** suggest that those activities converge into the chemo-sensitizing effect of this compound and may be of translational relevance.

By means of the dimensional analysis a spherically simmetric universe with a mass M = c3/(2HG) and radius equal to c/H is considered, where H is the Hubble constant, c the speed of light and G the Newton gravitational constant. The density corresponding to this mass is equal to the critical density ρcr = 3H2/(8πG). This universe evolves according to a Bondi-Gold-Hoyle scenario, with continuous creation of matter at a rate such to maintain, during the expansion, the density always critical density. Using the Margolus-Levitin theorem and the Landauer’s principle, an entropy is associated with this universe, obtaining a formula having the same structure as the Bekenstein-Hawking formula of the entropy of a black hole. Furthermore, a time-dependent cosmological constant Λ, function of the Hubble constant and the speed of light, is proposed.

本文研究了性质不确定的外黏弹性阻尼器控制结构的抗震性能.耗能器件的行为由分数阶本构律描述,其中分数阶导数阶和阻尼系数都被建模为具有指定下界和上界的区间变量.地震动加速度是一个零均值平稳高斯随机过程.在这些假设下,被控结构的运动由一组区间分数阶微分方程控制.所有响应量均由区间零均值平稳高斯随机过程描述,其功率谱密度函数依赖于黏弹性器件的区间参数,在频域上完全表征.通过将经典的首通道问题扩展到区间框架进行可靠性分析.用一种有效的近似方法计算了区间值可靠度函数的边界.本文给出了基于文献中实验结果定义的间隔特性的黏弹性器件的实例研究.

Objectives: To use a novel in vitro model of three-dimensional(3D) neurosphere cultures to assess neurotoxic or neuroprotective effects with harmane as a model ***: A reproducible model of 3D spheroids was developed from embryonic mouse cortical neurons,using molded agarose micro-wells;this method seems particularly practical as it is customizable and widely available and does not require specific cell treatments or assay components different from 2D cultures, allowing for the easy transposition of routine protocols. To assess the neurotoxic effects of harmane, a resazurin assay was performed to measure cell viability, and a highly sensitive fluorometric method, based on the oxidation of dichlorodihydrofluorescein, was applied to measure eventually induced reactive oxygen species(ROS) after exposure to harmane at increasing concentrations of 50 100,and 250 μ***: Hydrogel microwells facilitated the assembly of spheroids containing neurons and glial cells into a complex 3D structure and prevented the agglomeration of spheroids. Exposure to harmane induced cytotoxicity in 3D neural spheroids, which was correlated with harmane concentrations, with a 27%reduction in viability at 250 μm. Harmane that did not induce significant levels of oxidative stress was detected for all tested ***: This 3D neurosphere model mimics a neuronal microenvironment, allowing a fine study of neurodegenerative disorders and the effects of chemicals on the brain. This model opens novel opportunities, not only from a pathogenetic point of view but also from a therapeutic perspective.
