Objective: To study the main clinical and histopathological features of 12 patients with Hodgkin's lymphoma(Hl) diagnosed primarily from bone marrow(BM) ***: We included 12 acquired immunodeficiency syndrome(AIDS) patients with Hl assisted in the F. J. Mu?iz Infectious Diseases Hospital since January 2002 to December 2013. The diagnosis of Hl with primary BM involvement in patients was confirmed by clinical, histopathological, and immunohistochemical ***: All patients presented "B" symptoms and pancytopenia. All of them had stage IV neoplasm disease because of BM infiltration. The median of CD4+ T-cell counts was 114 cells/μl, and mixed cellularity(MC) was the most frequent histopathological subtype of 92% ***: When other causes are excluded, BM biopsy should be performed in AIDS patients with "B" symptoms and pancytopenia to evaluate BM infiltration by atypical lymphocytes.

Atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP) is an important component of the natriuretic peptide system. A great role in many regulatory systems is played by mast cells. Meanwhile involvement of these cells in ANP activity is poorly studied. In this work, we have shown the presence of ANP in rat peritoneal mast cells. Pure fraction of mast cells was obtained by separation of rat peritoneal cells on a Percoll density gradient. By Western blotting, two ANP-immunoreactive proteins of molecular masses of 2.5 kDa and 16.9 kDa were detected in lysates from these mast cells. Electron microscope immunogold labeling has revealed the presence of ANP-immunoreactive material in storage, secreting and released granules of mast cells. Our findings indicate the rat peritoneal mast cells to contain both ANP prohormone and ANP. These both peptides are located in mast cell secretory granules and released by mechanism of degranulation. It is discussed that many mast cell functions might be due to production of natriuretic peptides by these cells.

Background:The role of prophylactic levosimendan in coronary surgery has not been established ***:Postoperative outcomes of 139 patients(mean age,68.2±9.6 years)having preoperative left ventricular ejection fraction(lVEF)≤40%and undergoing isolated coronary surgery(2013-2017)were reviewed *** 42(30.2%)patients(l-group),an intravenous infusion of levosimendan was started 24 hours before *** remaining 97(69.8%)patients were the control group(C-group).A comparison between the two groups regarding outcome of surgery was performed also after propensity ***:Although the risk profile in l-patients was higher than in C-patients(median European System for Cardiac Operative Risk Evaluation II,10.5%vs.6.5%,P=0.013)due to higher prevalence of New York Heart Association class III-IV,lVEF≤30%,and preoperative intra-aortic balloon pump,in-hospital mortality was equivalent(4.8%vs.3.1%,P=0.48).However,low cardiac output,multiple blood transfusion,and any major complication early after surgery were more frequent in *** one-to-one propensity matching,which resulted in 15 pairs with similar baseline characteristics the use of levosimendan was associated with a trend towards an increased blood use(P=0.077),a higher frequency of any major complication(P=0.053),and lower peak serum levels of cardiac troponin I(P=0.088).No intergroup differences concerning mid-term survival or outcomes were found even for matched ***:When compared with traditional inotropes alone,prophylactic use of levosimendan showed clear benefits/drawbacks neither concerning immediate nor mid-term outcomes after coronary *** could be any advantage in terms of myocardial preservation.

New and compiled detrital zircon U-Pb ages from the southern Neoproterozoic-Cambrian Ribeira Belt,SE Brazil,demonstrate laurentian affinity of the Embu Terrane which is statistically distinct from the adjoining Apiaíand São Roque terranes with cratonic affinity(e.g.,São Francisco Craton).Zircon provenance results indicate that the type-area of the Embu Terrane is dominated by detrital zircon age modes at ca.1200 Ma,1400 Ma,and 1800 Ma,with maximum depositional age of ca.1000 *** contrast,the Apiaíand São Roque terranes are dominated by Paleoproterozoic detrital zircon ages(ca.2200-2000 Ma age dominant component),with maximum depositional ages of ca.1400 Ma and 1750 Ma,*** scaling(MDS)analysis of non-parametric similarity measurements on zircon age populations indicates for the first time that the Embu Terrane encompass two statistically distinct detrital zircon age spectra,which is also reflected in the metamorphic zircon age *** statistical characterization of the Embu Terrane through populational metrics allow a quantitative comparison with surrounding tectonic domains and rock samples classified such as *** results clearly highlight the distinction between the statistically differentiated Embu Terrane from the Apiaíand São Roque terranes,supporting an allochthonous *** addition,we demonstrate that rocks samples previously classified as Embu-type are significantly dissimilar to the definition of Embu Terrane,failing to support alternative tectonic models(e.g.,intracontinental evolution).Detrital zircon age spectra reveal that the Apiaíand São Roque terranes have similar zircon provenance to domains sourced from the São Francisco Craton,whereas detrital zircon populations from the Embu Terrane have greater affinity with SW laurentia basins(and their inferred sediment sources),consistent with previous ***,we interpret the Embu Terrane as a Rodinia descendant developed along the active margin o
