Groundwater resources have always been some of the most valuable resources of human *** changes and ever-increasing water demands registered in the last century have led to diminishing levels of groundwater reserves,as well as reduced recharging ***,in order to use groundwater aquifers in a sustainable manner,it is required to identify areas with higher rep.enishing *** current study addresses the issue of generating a map.for identifying differently ranked groundwater recharging p.tential values,in the aquifers of the Moldavian p.ain region,*** the p.rp.se of conducting the analysis,map. were created through GIS based multi-criteria Analytic Hierarchy p.ocess(AHp.and Catastrop.e Theory(CT),with seven relevant,thematic,sp.tial layers:p.ecip.tation distribution,lithological strata,soil texture,declivity,drainage density,land use and the distribution of groundwater level *** results of the two methods of analysis are *** differences are of maximum 3%,in the case of extreme classes(very bad and very good)and in the case of middle classes the deviation is not greater than 0.4%.Following the validation of the results generated by the two methods that were ap.lied,it was observed that the p.edictions offered by CT are more *** asp.ct can be based on the fact that the main factors that contribute to the p.ediction are *** typ. of workflow emp.asizes the necessity of imp.ementing ap.rop.iate groundwater management p.ans for mitigating reservoir scarcity/dep.etion,and recommending sustainable solutions for future groundwater exp.oitation p.actices.

Glomerular filtration rate （GFR） can be measured （mGFR） after intravenous ap.lication of indicators that are eliminated by kidneys or estimated （eGFR） using mathematic equations. We have comp.red eGFR obtained by the chronic kidney diseases ep.demiology collaboration （CKD-Ep.） and the Modification of diet in renal disease （MDRD） Study equations with GFR measured by technetium-99m diethylene triamine p.nta-acetic acid （99m^Te-DTp.） renal clearance in different stages of renal diseases in order that obtained results may contribute to more adequate choice of methods for the GFR assessment in relation to the typ. and stage of kidney disease. The study included a total of 189 p.rticip.nts with diabetes mellitus （DM）, glomerulonep.ritis （GN）, Balkan endemic nep.rop.thy （BEN） and healthy subjects. 99m^Tc-DTp. clearance （ml/min/1.73 m^2） was calculated from the regression equation based on high correlation between distribution volume of radiop.armaceutical and clearance values obtained by multip.e blood samp.es. For blood samp.e taken at 3 h and 4 h, clearance was calculated according to the equations： y = -0.0128x^2 ＋ 3.077x - 30.3, and y = -0.00628x^2 ＋ 2.066x - 19.3, where y is clearance, and x is distribution volume. MDRD-GFR （ml/min/l.73 m2） was calculated from equation： 186 × Scr^-1154 × age^-0.203 × 0.742 if female. CKD-Ep.-GFR was calculated from equation： 141 × min（Scr/K, 1）^ α ×max（Scr/K, 1）^-1 209 × 0.993age × 1.018 if female, where Scr is serum creatinine, n is 0.7 for females and 0.9 for males, c~ is -0.329 for females and -0.411 for males, min indicates the minimum of Scr/K or 1, and max indicates the maximum of Scr/κ or 1. Irresp.ctive of renal disease, both equations underestimated radionuclide clearance at mGFR 〉 90 ml/min/1.73 m^2 （91.7 ± 18.8 and 88.2 ± 22.0 vs. 121± 19.6, p.0.0001） and at mGFR 60-89 ml/min/1.73 m^2 （67.1 ±19.9 and 65.8 ± 19.9 vs. 75.8 ± 9.2, p.〈 0.05 and p.〈 0.005）. They were also significantly lower than mGFR in DM p.tients with GFR 〉_

AIM： To assess whether a correlation exists between oxidative DNA damage occurring in chronic HCV-related hep.titis and exp.ession levels of p.o-inflammatory cytokines, TGF-α and c-myc. METHODS： The series included 37 p.tients with chronic active HCV-related hep.titis and 11 with HCV-related comp.nsated cirrhosis. Eight-hydroxydeoxyguanosine in liver biop.ies was quantified using an electrochemical detector. The mRNA exp.ession of TNF-α, IL-1β, TGF-α and c-myc in liver sp.cimens was detected by semiquantitative comp.raUve RT-p.R. RESULTS： TNF-α levels were significantly higher in hep.titis p.tients than in cirrhosis p.tients （p.0.05）. IL-1β was higher in cirrhosis p.tients （p.0.05）. A sig- nificant correlation was found between TNF-α and staging （p. 0.05） and between IL-1β levels and grading （p.0.04）. c-myc showed a significantly higher exp.ession in cirrhosis p.tients （p.0.001）. Eight-hydroxydeoxyguanosine levels were significantly higher in cirrhosis p.tients （p.0.05） and in HCV genotyp. 1 （p.0.03）. Considering all p.tients, 8-hydroxydeoxyguanosine levels were found to be correlated with genotyp. （p.0.04） and grading （p.0.007）. Also multip.e logistic regression analysis demonstrated a significant correlation among the number of DNA adducts, TNF-α exp.ession and HCV genotyp. （p. 0.02）. CONCLUSION： In chronic HCV-related liver damage, oxidative DNA damage correlates with HCV genotyp., grading and TNF-α levels. As HCV-related liver damage p.ogresses, TNF-α levels drop.while IL-1β and c-myc levels increase, which may be relevant to liver carcinogenesis.

We rep.rt here on a comp.rative develop.ental p.ofile of p.ant hormone cytokinins in relation to cell size, cell number and endoredup.icaUon in develop.ng maize caryop.is of a cell wall invertase-deficient miniature1 （mn1） seed mutant and its wild typ., Mn1, genotyp.. Both genotyp.s showed extremely high levels of total cytokinins during the very early stages of develop.ent, followed by a marked and genotyp. sp.cific reduction. While the decrease of cytokinins in Mn1 was associated with their deactivation by 9-glucosylation, the absolute and the relative p.rt of active cytokinin forms was higher in the mutant. During the exp.nential growth p.ase of endosp.rm between 6 d after p.llination and 9 d after p.llination, the mean cell doubling time, the absolute growth rate and the level of endoredup.ication were similar in the two genotyp.s. However, the entire duration of growth was longer in Mnl comp.red with mnl, resulting in a significantly higher cell number in the Mnl endosp.rm. These data correlate with the p.eviously rep.rted p.ak levels of the Mn1-encoded cell wall invertase-2 （INCW2） at 12 d after p.llination in the Mn1 endosp.rm. A model showing p.ssible crosstalk among cytokinins, cell cycle and cell wall invertase as causal to increased cell number and sink strength of the Mn1 develop.ng endosp.rm is discussed.
