In.roduction. Liver cirrhosis is a global public health issue. Our aim was to determin. the epidemiological, clin.cal, paraclin.cal an. therapeutic aspects of liver cirrhosis in.the hepato-gastroen.erology departmen. of the hospital Aristide Le Dan.ec in.Dakar. Patien.s an. Methods: We con.ucted a retrospective study with a descriptive focus coverin. the period from Jan.ary 1st, 2010 to December 31, 2020. We in.luded the medical records of patien.s which presen.ed body of clin.cal an. paraclin.cal argumen.s which supported the diagn.sis of cirrhosis. The data collected were related to age, gen.er, clin.cal, paraclin.cal, therapeutic an. progn.sis aspects of cirrhosis an. were an.lyzed with the software Sphin. Plus. Results: Prevalen.e of cirrhosis was 6.2%. Sex ratio was 2.1%. The average age was 38 years. Asthen.a (60.9%), altered performan.e status (60.1%), abdomin.l pain.(37.2%), gastroin.estin.l bleedin. (29.6%) an. abdomin.l swellin. (27.8%) were the most common.motives of con.ultation. Physical examin.tion.revealed primarily portal hyperten.ion.(74.9%), liver failure (2.4%), hepatomegaly (28.2%) an. an.mia (13.7%). Viral hepatitis B was the most common.etiology (81.9%). Abdomin.l screen.n. (ultrasoun./CT scan. showed hepatomegaly (80.6%), liver dysmorphia (87.7%), portal hyperten.ion.sign. (85.3%) an. portal vein.thrombosis (18.2%). 55.1% Patien.s were classified as Child Pugh A, 33.8% were Child Pugh B an. 11.1% were Child Pugh C. Ten.fovir Disoproxil Fumarate (TDF) was prescribed to all patien.s affected by hepatitis B virus on.y. Evolution.was characterized by clin.cal improvemen. an. progn.sis reclassification. Con.lusion. Liver cirrhosis is a frequen. pathology in.the hepato-gastroen.erology departmen. of the hospital Aristide Le Dan.ec in.Dakar. It affects youn. male adult. Hepatitis B virus is the leadin. cause. In.roduction. Covid-19 is a systemic disease that can.spread to all systems. Amon. the gastroin.estin.l man.festation., pan.reatic in.olvemen. can.have a major progn.stic impact. We report 3 acute pan.reatitis cases occurrin. durin. Covid-19, in.Dakar. Case 1: 65-year-old woman.who presen.ed with in.en.e atypical epigastric pain. Physical examin.tion.revealed obesity, high blood pressure an. abdomin.l ten.ern.ss. Biological tests foun. in.rease CRP (134 mg/l) an. lipasemia (312 UI/l). Abdomin.l CT scan.showed fin.in.s of Balthazar grade C acute pan.reatitis. RT-PCR for SARS CoV 2 RT-PCR was positive. The outcome was favorable. Case 2: 56-year-old woman.patien. with history of n.phroan.iosclerosis who presen.ed with dyspn.a, cough, fever an. moderate epigastric pain. Physical examin.tion.revealed epigastric ten.ern.ss, high blood pressure, an.ria. Biological testin., n.ted in.rease CRP (96 mg/l), lipasemia (793 UI/l), creatin.n. (227 mg/l) an. urea (3.84 g/l). Abdomin.l CT scan.showed acute edematous pan.reatitis fin.in.s. SARS CoV 2 RT PCR was positive. The outcome was favorable. Case 3: 27-year-old man.who presen.ed with physical asthen.a, headache, an. epigastric pain. Physical examin.tion.foun. epigastric ten.ern.ss. Elevated CRP level was of 102 mg/l an. lipasemia level was of 427 UI/l (7n.. Abdomin.l CT scan.showed acute edematous pan.reatitis fin.in.s. SARS CoV 2 RT PCR was positive. The outcome was favorable. Con.lusion. Acute pan.reatitis can.occur durin. Covid-19 in.ection. However, the imputability to the Covid-19 disease n.cessitates to rule out the most common.causes.

In.roduction. Gastroin.estin.l en.oscopy plays a crucial role in.the man.gemen. of gastroin.estin.l diseases. The aim of this study was to report the in.ication. an. results of lower digestive en.oscopy in.a hospital cen.er in.Sen.gal. Patien.s an. Methods: We con.ucted a descriptive retrospective study from September 1st, 2017, to September 30, 2018 at the gastroin.estin.l en.oscopy un.t of the region.l hospital cen.er of Thiès. All patien.s received for lower gastroin.estin.l en.oscopy an. whose reports were usable, were in.luded. In.the reports, we collected an. an.lyzed sociodemographic data, in.ication.an. results of the en.oscopic examin.tion. Results: We in.luded 250 patien.s. There were 140 men.(sex ratio 1.27). The average age was 42 years [ran.e 1 - 92 years]. There were 37 colon.scopies (14.8%), 51 rectosigmoidoscopies (20.4%) an. 162 an.rectoscopies (64.8%). The patien.s were from the region.of Thiès in.82% of cases. In.most cases, they were most often.referred by gen.ral practition.rs (22.8%) an. surgeon. (20.8%). The main.in.ication. were rectal bleedin. (36.8%), hemorrhoidal disease (23.2%) an. proctalgia (11.6%). Hemorrhoidal disease (63.6%), an.l fistula (14%) an. tumors (8.8%) were the most common.pathologies. Con.lusion. Admitted patien.s at the gastroin.estin.l en.oscopy un.t of the region.l hospital cen.er of Thiès have man. in.ication. as well as pathologies. An.l pathology is domin.ted by hemorrhoidal disease.

Viral hepatitis C is a major public health problem. The aim of our work was to determin. the epidemiological, diagn.stic an. treatmen. profiles of patien.s with HCV in.Dakar (Sen.gal). We con.ucted a retrospective, descriptive, multicen.re study between.Jan.ary 1, 2010, an. December 31, 2019. We in.luded 26 patien.s. The mean.age of the patien.s was 53.5 years [28 - 70 years] an. 46.2% were males. Of the 26 patien.s in.luded, 7 (26.9%) were Sen.galese, an. the majority were from other African.coun.ries. Risk factors for con.amin.tion.foun. were surgery in.11 patien.s (42.3%) an. blood tran.fusion.in.1 patien. (3.8%). The mean.viral load was 6.47 log IU/ml [4.26 - 7.26 log IU/ml]. Ten.patien.s were in.ected by gen.type 4. n. patien.s were co-in.ected with HIV or HBV. Six patien.s (23.1% of patien.s) had sign.fican. fibrosis, of which five (19.2% of patien.s) were in.the stage of cirrhosis. Twelve patien.s (46.2%) started treatmen.. Eleven.were treatmen.-n.ïve an. 1 did n.t respon. to ribavirin.pegylated in.erferon.based therapy after 48 weeks. Ten.cases of an.iviral therapy were based on.DAA an. ribavirin.pegylated in.erferon.in.2 patien.s. For the patien.s treated with pegin.erferon.an. ribavirin. a rapid virologic respon.e was observed at 12 weeks in.on. patien., an. the other patien. was lost to follow-up. Amon. DAA-treated patien.s, 7 had sustain.d virologic respon.es at 12 weeks, 2 persisted, an. 1 was lost to follow-up. Moderate thrombocytopen.a an. weight loss were observed in.on. patien. receivin. pegin.erferon.an. ribavirin. In.our study, n. patien. died on.treatmen. an. n. patien.s developed de n.vo HCC durin. or after DAA therapy. Con.lusion. Viral hepatitis C is rare in.Sen.gal. Despite the progress made in.the therapeutic man.gemen. of viral hepatitis C, it remain. a challen.e in.Sen.gal. In.eed, DAAs are expen.ive an. are n.t marketed, which makes them in.ccessible to most patien.s.
