Introduction: A thyroid nodule is a localized hypertrophy within the thyroid parenchyma. The aim of our study was to study the benefit of ultrasound in the Ti-rads classification of thyroid nodules. Methodology: This was a prospective study with a descriptive aim, with prospective collection, which took place over a period of 17 months at the “marie Curie” medical clinic. The ultrasound machine used was a Voluson E8 from 2011 and the examinations were carried out by two radiologists and two experienced sonographers. The parameters studied were sociodemographic data;clinical data and ultrasound aspects of the Ti-rads classification in the management of nodules. Results: We collected 235 patients out of 738 patients referred to the service for a cervical ultrasound, i.e. a frequency of 31.84% of cases. There was a female predominance with 95.7% of cases and a sex ratio of 0.04. The average age of our patients was 50 years. We found on cervical ultrasound: Isthmo-lobar glandular hyperplasia in 99 patients, i.e. a frequency of 42.1%. The Ti-rads 3 classification was the most represented in 69.4% of cases. The benignity criterion represented 85.6% of cases in our patients and the malignancy criterion represented 14.4% of cases. Conclusion: The precise description of a thyroid nodule provided by ultrasound (Ti-rads) is essential in the management of nodules.

A new castor wheel mechanism for omni-directional mobile platform is presented. A motion of translation is transformed into a rotation to steer the wheel with the help of a helical path fits into a translation joint and three rollers whose axes are connected to the driving shaft of the wheel. When the path moves in translation it acts on the rollers for steering. The path-roller friction transmission, the wheel kinematics and the maneuverability have been analyzed.

Introduction: Work-aggravated asthma is pre-existing or concomitant asthma whose symptoms are aggravated by the work environment. The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of this pathology and its associated factors among bakery workers in Abidjan. Materials and Methods: This descriptive and analytical cross-sectional study was conducted over a period of four (4) months from 18 December 2019 to 18 April 2020. Two questionnaires were used, one on employees and the other on the indoor environment of bakeries. In addition, a spirometry test was performed on all bakery workers. Statistical analysis was performed using stata 15.1 software. Results: A total of 599 bakery employees, including bakers (59.73%), sales assistants/ cashiers (23.52%), cleaners (6.34%) and administrative staff (10.18%), were investigated. The mean age was 30.8 ± 8 years, with a sex ratio (M/F) = 2.2. Asthma symptoms were found in 95 (15.86%) employees, of whom 74 (77.9%) had work-related asthma and 11 (14.9%) had asthma aggravated by work. The factors associated with work-aggravated asthma were personal or family history of allergy or atopy [ORa = 3.75;CI95%: 1.56 - 8.93;p = 0.003], exposure to dust [ORa = 5.01;CI95%: 1.43 - 7.50;p = 0.011] and humidity level (60% - 70%) [ORa = 1.80;CI 95%: 0.99 - 3.28;p = 0.05]. Conclusion: Work-aggravated asthma is a reality in bakeries in Abidjan, with an estimated prevalence of 14.9%. Two of the three factors associated with this condition suggest a link with indoor air pollution. Combating air pollution in these establishments must therefore be a priority for the relevant authorities, in order to provide employees with a working environment that protects their health.

This paper is devoted to the study of the subspace of Wm＇＂ of functions that vanish on a part γ0 of the boundary. The author gives a crucial estimate of the Poincare constant in balls centered on the boundary of γ0. Then, the convolution-translation method, a variant of the standard mollifier technique, can be used to prove the density of smooth functions that vanish in a neighborhood of γ0, in this subspace. The result is first proved for m = 1, then generalized to the case where m 〉 1, in any dimension, in the framework of Lipschitz-continuous domain. However, as may be expected, it is needed to make additional assumptions on the boundary of γ0, namely that it is locally the graph of some Lipschitz-continuous function.

In recent years, the field of male-mediated reproductive toxicology has received growing attention. It is now well-established that many drugs, chemicals, and environmental factors can harm male germ cells by inducing DNA damage. Male germ cells have extensive repair mechanisms that allow detection and repair of damaged DNA during the early phases of spermatogenesis. However, during the later phase of spermiogenesis, when the haploid spermatids undergo chromatin condensation and become transcriptionally quiescent, their ability to repair damaged DNA is lost. It is also thought that the highly compacted chromatin of the sperm can protect DNA against damage. Therefore, it is expected that late spermatids will be most susceptible to DNA damaging agents. Unrepaired or misrepaired damage in the germ cells leads to the generation of spermatozoa with DNA damage that can be transmitted to the next generation. Fortunately, the maternal DNA repair machinery is capable of recognizing and repairing, at least to some degree, damaged paternal DNA after fertilization in the zygote. Therefore, the efficiency of the maternal repair machinery will greatly influence the risk of transmitting paternal DNA damage to offspring.

Analysis of Indigents Selection by the Community: A Construction Inequality

Burkina Faso conducted a community selection of the indigent in eight health districts. The selection targeted 15% to 20% indigent per district. This study analyzed the data of this selection from the databases of the Ministry of Health. Descriptive analysis and time series modeling were performed. Indigents were predominantly female, heads of household were mostly elderly, and the average age of household members ranged from 21.9 to 29.8 years. The households were small. Indigents were mostly uneducated and employed. They all belonged to a given religious denomination, Muslims were the most numerous. The majority of the indigents were married and almost a quarter of them were widows. About 2% to 17% of indigents were selected depending on the district. Forecasts showed both an increase and a decrease in the use of health care by indigents. The study recommends considering the poverty level specific to each district when selecting, strengthening education policies targeting the indigent, improving the socio-health conditions of the indigent including specific actions considering age, sex and marital status, and the formulation of an employment policy targeting the indigent. Analyzes of the relationship between poverty and religion may allow the exploitation of religious capital for the benefit of the indigent.

Background: Indigent selected for their health care is complex and poses enormous challenges. The actors involved have an influence on health actions and their perception is decisive for better care for the indigent. Little evidence exists on these perceptions and this paper has captured this. Methods: A case study involved 163 participants with a questionnaire and an interview guide. The quantitative responses were classified according to a measurement scale, proportions and overall indices of perception (Ip) and satisfaction (CSAT) were calculated. The relationship between variables was investigated using chi-square. Thematic analysis was used with qualitative data. The study met ethical requirements. Results: The participants had a positive perception of the selection: Ip = 0.77, but a minority (1/5) were dissatisfied with the selection. The perception of selection did not differ significantly depending on the experience of the actors. For the vast majority, the definition of indigent was satisfactory (CSAT = 91.4). The selection was done in a top down fashion and steps such as setting up committees, informing stakeholders, had shortcomings which negatively impacted the effectiveness of the selection. The needs of the participants included transparency in the indigent select process, matching the tools for selecting the indigent to the context, strengthening of local action, deconstruction of prejudices in terms of the indigent, power of actors to act, and importance for health services to reach out to the indigent. The clinical efficacy of therapeutic antibodies is recognized in many indications,explaining their rapid rise in the worldwide drug ***,therapeutic antibodies can be immunogenic by inducing a specific immune response characterized by the production of anti-drug antibodies(ADAs).ADAs can potentially increase the clearance of therapeutic antibodies,decrease their therapeutic effects1 and induce hypersensitivity *** humans are thought to be tolerant to their own proteins,sequences of the therapeutic antibodies have been humanized or human antibodies have been directly generated by technologies using human ***,human(ized)antibodies exhibit highly variable levels of immunogenicity,1,2 illustrating the poor understanding of the role of sequence humanization in mitigating the immunogenicity of therapeutic *** lines of evidence highlight the role of CD4 T lymphocytes during the initiation of an ADA response,3 but few T-cell epitopes of marketed therapeutic antibodies have been described to date.
