Objective: To evaluate the potential of smallanthus sonchifolius(s. sonchifolius) roots in ameliorating hepatic damage of rats fed with a high fructose ***: The effect of s. sonchifolius roots on energy intake, body weight, fat and liver mass was determined in male rats fed with a high-fructose diet. Plasma glucose, triglycerides, total cholesterol, lipoproteins and aspartate aminotransferase and alanine aminotransferase were analyzed. Histological changes of the livers were evaluated by electronic microscopy and apoptosis was examined using the TUnEL method. The levels of malondialdehyde, reducedglutathione and antioxidant enzymes(catalase, superoxide dismutase, glutathione peroxidase, glutathione s-transferase) activities were also ***: s. sonchifolius roots significantly decreased energy intake, body weight, fat and liver mass(P s. sonchifolius roots ameliorated liver steatosis and mitochondrial morphology, avoiding cellular apoptosis and normalizing transaminase activity in the liver of rats fed with high fructose. Enzymatic assays revealed that s. sonchifolius roots had a modulatory effect on the oxidative stress induced by fructose-feeding by reducing lipid peroxidation(P nd antioxidant enzyme activities(P n ***: s. sonchifolius roots can ameliorate non-alcoholic fatty liver disease by improving oxidative stress and liver injury.

Global software Development （GsD） is a well established field of software engineering with the benefits of a global environment. software Project Management （sPM） plays a key role in the success of GsD. As a result, the need has arisen to study and evaluate the downsides of sPM for GsD, to thereby pave the way for the development of new methods, techniques, and tools with which to tackle them. This paper aims to identify and classify research on sPM approaches for GsD that are available in the literature, to identify their current weaknesses and strengths, and to analyze their applications in industry. We performed a systematic Mapping study （sMs） based on six classification criteria. Eighty-four papers were selected and analyzed. The results indicate that interest in sPM for GsD has been increasing since 2006. As a class of approaches, the most frequently reported methods （40%） are those used for coordination, planning, and monitoring, along with estimation techniques that can be used to better match a distributed project. sPM for GsD requires further investigation by researchers and practitioners, particularly with respect to cost and time estimations. These findings will help overcome the challenges that must to be considered in future sPM research for GsD, especially regarding collaboration and time-zone differences.

The application of organic photocatalysts towards the oxidation of pollutants in water is hampered by different limitations such as their insolubility in the ***,we report that the grafting of a photoorganocatalyst into mesoporous silica materials is an ideal approach to obtain effective ***,the photocatalyst 10-phenylphenothiazine(PTH)was easily anchored into three different mesoporous silica-based materials(Msn,MsU-2 and sBA-15)with different particle sizes and pore sizes through an amide bond *** materials were characterized using IR analysis,solid-state X-ray diffraction,porosity and microscopy(sEM and TEM)techniques,showing that PTH is immobilized inside the pores of the materials and its optical properties are maintained after the *** homogeneous PTH was inactive in water media,the three photocatalytic materials were active for the degradation of ***-15-AP-PTH exhibited the highest catalytic performance towards the degradation of acetaminophen and diclofenac under solar irradiation,finding in this manner a new strategy for the decontamination of pollutants.

AIM: To analyze the results of laparoscopic colectomy in complicated diverticular ***: This was a retrospective cohort study conducted at an academic teaching hospital. Data were collected from a database established earlier, which comprise of all patients who underwent laparoscopic colectomy for diverticular disease between 2000 and 2013. The series was divided into two groups that were compared: Patients with complicated disease(abscess, perforation, fistula, or stenosis)(G1) and patients undergoing surgery for recurrent diverticulitis(G2). Recurrent diverticulitis was defined as two or more episodes of diverticulitis regardless of patient age. Data regarding patient demographics, comorbidities, prior abdominal operations, history of acute diverticulitis, classification of acute diverticulitis at index admission and intra and postoperative variables were extracted. Univariate analysis was performed in both ***: Two hundred and sixty patients were included: 28%(72 patients) belonged to G1 and 72%(188 patients) to G2. The mean age was 57(27-89) years. The average number of episodes of diverticulitis before surgery was 2.1(r 0-10); 43 patients had no previous inflammatory pathology. There were significant differences between the two groups with respect to conversion rate and hospital stay(G1 18% vs G2 3.2%, P = 0.001; G1: 4.7 d vs G2 3.3 d, P nastomotic dehiscence rate was 2.3%, with no statistical difference between the groups(G1 2.7% vs G2 2.1%, P = 0.5). There were no differences in demographic data(body mass index, American society of Anesthesiology and previous abdominal surgery), operative time and intraoperative and postoperative complications between the groups.
