Evaluation of Physicochemical,Microbiological and Sensory Stability of Frozen Stored Vacuum-Packed Lamb Meat

Nowadays, lamb meat represents only 7% of all meat produced in the world. In recent years the demand for standardized lamb meat cuts has been considered of great importance and the marketing occurs predominantly in the form of frozen cuts. Herewith, the main of this work was to evaluate the stability and safety of lamb meat during frozen storage. Meats were vacuum packed in high barrier multilayer plastic iflms and stored during 12 mon at （-18±1）℃. The meat stability was assessed by physical and chemical （lipid oxidation, objective color, pH value, cooking losses and instrumental texture）, microbiological （total count of psychrotrophic, coliform count at 45℃, coagulase-positive staphylococci and the presence of Salmonella） and sensory analysis （acceptance test and visual evaluation）. The vacuum packed lamb meat remained stable as to most physical and chemical indexes. Microbiological indexes showed good stability throughout the storage period according to Brazilian legislation standards to pathogenic microorganisms. Although a signiifcant reduction in tenderness （shear force increase from 3 to 8 kg）, it showed a good sensorial acceptance for all attributes tested, including texture, with scores of around 7 （like moderately） during the 12 mon of storage. Therefore, it can be concluded that, under the conditions applied in this study, lamb meat presents a shelf life of at least 12 mon when stored at-18℃.

(Aim)To make a more accurate and precise COVID-19 diagnosis system,this study proposed a novel deep rank-based average pooling network(DrAPNet)model,i.e.,deep rank-based average pooling network,for COVID-19 recognition.(Methods)521 subjects yield 1164 slice images via the slice level selection *** the 1164 slice images comprise four categories:COVID-19 positive;community-acquired pneumonia;second pulmonary tuberculosis;and healthy *** method firstly introduced an improved multiple-way data ***,an n-conv rankbased average pooling module(NrAPM)was proposed in which rank-based pooling—particularly,rank-based average pooling(rAP)—was employed to avoid ***,a novel DrAPNet was proposed based on NrAPM and inspired by the ***-CAM was used to generate heatmaps and gave our AI model an explainable analysis.(results)Our DrAPNet achieved a micro-averaged F1 score of 95.49%by 10 runs over the test *** sensitivities of the four classes were 95.44%,96.07%,94.41%,and 96.07%,*** precisions of four classes were 96.45%,95.22%,95.05%,and 95.28%,*** F1 scores of the four classes were 95.94%,95.64%,94.73%,and 95.67%,***,the confusion matrix was given.(Conclusions)The DrAPNet is effective in diagnosing COVID-19 and other chest infectious *** rAP gives better results than four other methods:strided convolution,l2-norm pooling,average pooling,and max pooling.

Insights into gastric neuroendocrine tumors burden

Type 1 gastric neuroendocrine tumors （gNETs） are usually small lesions, restricted to mucosal and sub-mucosal layers of corpus and fundus, with low aggressive behavior, for the majority of cases. Nevertheless, some cases present aggressive behavior. The increasing incidence of gNETs brings together a new relevant problem： how to identify potentially aggressive type I gNETs. The challenging problem seems to be finding out signs or features able to predict potentially aggressive cases, allowing a tailored approach, since the involved societies dedicated to provide guidelines for management of these neoplasms apparently failed in producing staging systems able to accurately predict prognosis of these tumors. Additionally, it is also important to try to find out explanations for increasing incidence, as well as to identify potential targets aiming to reach better control of this neoplasia. Here, we discuss potential pathways implicated in aggressive behavior, as well as new strategies to improve clinical management of these tumors.

Development and validation of a morphological model for multiple sediment classes

The complexity of sediment dynamics in aquatic systems can be better understood by applying numerical models. The development of a comprehensive morphological model is presented in this *** model aims to predict the sediment transport and bed evolution in natural systems composed of different sediment types. The morphological model was implemented in MOHID, a modelling system that solves the three-dimensional hydrodynamics and advection-diffusion transport of suspended sediments. Multiple sediment classes were taken into account(non-cohesive and cohesive) considering the effects of sediment mixtures and bed consolidation on resistance to erosion. To represent bottom stratigraphy, the bottom column can be divided into several layers. The key points of the simulated processes are discussed in this paper. Model results are assessed in six test cases through comparison with analytic solutions or experimental data. The outcomes demonstrate the model's capacity to simulate the transport dynamics of non-cohesive and cohesive sediments. The speed up of morphological changes by an acceleration factor permitted modelling bed evolution for long time ***, a test case for the Tagus Estuary demonstrated the model's capacity for generating realistic sediment distribution based on the local hydrodynamic conditions. Limitations in the availability of bed composition data can be overcome by considering a warm-up run to provide realistic initial conditions for further predictions of morphological developments.

Effect of Noisy Fitness in real-Time Strategy Games Player Behaviour Optimisation Using Evolutionary Algorithms

This paper investigates the performance and the results of an evolutionary algorithm （EA） specifically designed for evolving the decision engine of a program （which, in this context, is called bot） that plays Planet Wars. This game, which was chosen for the Google Artificial Intelligence Challenge in 2010, requires the bot to deal with multiple target planets, while achieving a certain degree of adaptability in order to defeat different opponents in different scenarios. The decision engine of the bot is initially based on a set of rules that have been defined after an empirical study, and a genetic algorithm （GA） is used for tuning the set of constants, weights and probabilities that those rules include, and therefore, the general behaviour of the bot. Then, the bot is supplied with the evolved decision engine and the results obtained when competing with other bots （a bot offered by Google as a sparring partner, and a scripted bot with a pre-established behaviour） are thoroughly analysed. The evaluation of the candidate solutions is based on the result of non-deterministic battles （and environmental interactions） against other bots, whose outcome depends on random draws as well as on the opponents＇ actions. Therefore, the proposed GA is dealing with a noisy fitness function. After analysing the effects of the noisy fitness, we conclude that tackling randomness via repeated combats and reevaluations reduces this effect and makes the GA a highly valuable approach for solving this problem.

Nutritional supplements use in high-performance athletes is related with lower nutritional inadequacy from food

Background: The use of nutritional supplements(NS) among athletes is widespread. However, little is known about the relationship between nutritional adequacy and NS usage. The aims of this study were to evaluate the NS usage and to compare the nutritional intake from food and prevalence of micronutrient inadequacy(PMI) between NS users and ***: Portuguese athletes from 13 sports completed an NS usage questionnaire and a semi-quantitative food-frequency questionnaire assessing information over the previous 12 months. The estimated average requirement cut-point method was used to calculate PMI. General linear models were used to compare nutritional intake and NS usage. Chi-squared tests and logistic regression were performed to study, respectively,relationships and associations between PMI and NS ***: From the 244 athletes(66% males, 13–37 years), 64% reported NS usage. After adjustment, NS users showed a higher intake from food(p r at least 1 gender, for energy, and for 7 of the 17 studied nutrients. The highest PMI were seen for vitamins D and E, calcium, folate,and magnesium. After adjustment, NS users, irrespective of gender, reported lower PMI for calcium(Or = 0.28, 95%CI: 0.12–0.65), and female users for magnesium(Or = 0.06, 95%CI: 0.00–0.98).Conclusion: Athletes using NS reported a higher nutritional intake from food, and a lower PMI for several nutrients. Perhaps, those who were taking NS were probably the ones who would least benefit from it.
