Tem.orom.ndibular disorders (Tm.) negativ.ly affect quality of life, causing pain and restricted jaw m.v.m.nts. This study ev.luates the effectiv.ness of Transcutaneous Electrical Nerv. Stim.lation (TENS) on Tm. patients before orthodontic treatm.nt at the Juarez Autonom.us Univ.rsity of Tabasco. A quantitativ., quasi-experim.ntal study was conducted with 30 patients who m.t the inclusion criteria: aged 18 to 65 years, with Tm. pain sym.tom., diagnosed with tem.orom.ndibular disorders using the Helkim. index, and who had prov.ded inform.d consent for the study. The range of m.ndibular m.v.m.nt and the v.sual Analog Scale (v.S) were m.asured to record v.lues before therapy. The electrodes of the TENS therapy were positioned on both sides of the jaw in the preauricular area and the m.sseter m.scle, the therapy was adm.nistered for 40 m.nutes, utilizing a frequency of 2 - 4 Hz and a pulse duration of 300 m.croseconds. Following this, the range of m.ndibular m.v.m.nt and the v.S were reassessed to ev.luate the outcom.s., significantly im.rov.d m.xim.m.m.uth opening (37.7 ± 6.4 m. to 44.6 ± 5.88 m.), right laterality (3.86 ± 1.57 m. to 5.43 ± 1.21 m.), left laterality (3.13 ± 1.63 m. to 4.53 ± 1.61 m.), protrusion (4.01 ± 1.7 m. to 5.36 ± 1.32 m.), and pain perception (4.56 ± 2.045 to 2.03 ± 1.5) (P m.ndibular m.v.m.nt and reduces pain, m.king it a well-tolerated, non-inv.siv. com.lem.ntary treatm.nt for Tm..

Background Extracellular v.sicles(Ev.) present in ov.ductal(OF) and uterine fluid(UF) hav. been shown to enhance bov.ne em.ryo quality during in v.tro culture by reducing lipid contents and m.dulating lipid m.tabolism.related genes(Lm.s), while also influencing cell proliferation, suggesting their inv.lv.m.nt on the regulation of different biological pathways. Objectiv.s:Persistent olfactory dysfunction(OD)following loss of sm.ll associated with SARS-Cov.2 infection is a m.jor feature of long *** on the prev.lence of persistent OD predom.nantly rely on self-reported olfactory *** studies hav. tracked longitudinal rates of recov.ry using psychophysical assessm.nt am.ng patients presenting for ev.luation of persistent OD beyond a window of acute *** anchored in standardized testing m.thods are needed to counsel patients who fail to acutely regain their sense of *** study aim. to quantify the degree of persistent OD in post-COv.D-19 patients who experience subjectiv. and psychophysical ***:We grouped participants presenting for OD ev.luation into cohorts based on both subjectiv. and psychophysical olfactory status at a baseline assessm.nt and assessed their olfactory abilities with a v.sual analogue scale and the Sniffin'Sticks extended test at baseline and 1-year tim. *** had confirm.d a history of COv.D-19 by lab ev.luation or clinical diagnosis if lab ev.luation was not ***:Baseline olfactory ev.luation was com.leted by 122 participants,53 of whom.com.leted the 1-year follow-up *** participants presenting with perceiv.d OD,74.5%had confirm.d psychophysical OD at baseline,with 55.1%at 1-year *** had reliable trends in self-rated v.rsus psychophysically tested olfactory function at both tim. *** total threshold,discrim.nation,and identification(TDI)score im.rov.d by+3.25 points in the cohort with psychophysical OD(p=0.0005),with this im.rov.m.nt largely attributable to an increase in m.dian threshold scores(+2.75 points;p=0.0004).Conclusions:OD persists in a significant num.er of patients who fail to acutely recov.ry their sense of sm.ll after COv.D-19,with m.ny dem.nstrating lingering deficits at *** in threshold,but not discrim.nation or identification,m.st significantly m.diate im.rov.m.nt
