Background Deciphering the genetic architecture of drought tolerance could allow the candidate genes identification responding to water stress. In the Andean Patagonian forest, the genus Nothofagus represents an ecologically relevant species to be included in different genom.c studies. These studies are scarce in South Am.rican ecosystem. however represent an im.ortant source of genom.c data in order to interpret future clim.te-change environm.nt scenarios of these em.lem.tic forests. Here, we achieved the assem.lage of the transcriptom. of N. alpina while searching for key genes of activated or suppressed m.tabolic pathways in response to drought *** De novo transcriptom. assem.ly resulted in 104,030 transcripts. Following confirm.tion of drought conditions, based on reduction of leaf water potential and stom.tal conductance, a differential gene expression analysis resulted in 2720 significantly expressed genes(1601 up-regulated and 1119 down-regulated). Enrichm.nt analysis(over-representation analysis and gene set enrichm.nt analysis) resulted in m.re than one hundred stress-responsive term.ontologies(i.e. biological processes) and pathways. Term. such as response to abscisic acid and pathways such as plant horm.ne signal transduction or starch and sucrose m.tabolism.were over-represented. Protein–protein interaction assessm.nt resulted in networks with significantly expressed top com.on hub gene clusters(e.g. planttype cell wall biogenesis am.ng down-regulated or ABA-signalling am.ng up-regulated). These networks evidenced im.ortant regulators at gene expression such as transcriptional *** Responses of N. alpina seedlings to drought stress were evidenced by the activation of several genes linked to GO biological processes and KEGG pathways, which were m.inly based on over-expression of specific protein kinases, phosphatases, synthases and transcription factors. m.gnetic holes at the ion-to-electron kinetic scale(KSm.s)are one of the extrem.ly sm.ll interm.ttent structures generated in turbulent m.gnetized *** recent years,the explorations of KSm.s have m.de substantial strides,driven by the ultra-high-precision observational data gathered from.the m.gnetospheric m.ltiscale(m.S)*** review paper sum.arizes the up-to-date characteristics of the KSm.s observed in Earth’s turbulent m.gnetosheath,as well as their potential im.acts on space *** review starts by introducing the fundam.ntal properties of the KSm.s,including observational features,particle behaviors,scales,geom.tries,and distributions in terrestrial *** have discovered that KSm.s display a quasi-circular electron vortex-like structure attributed to electron diam.gnetic *** electrons exhibit noticeable non-gyrotropy and undergo *** occurrence rate of KSm. in the Earth’s m.gnetosheath is significantly greater than in the solar wind and m.gnetotail,suggesting the turbulent m.gnetosheath is a prim.ry source ***,KSm.s have also been generated in turbulence sim.lations and successfully reproduced by the kinetic equilibrium.***,KSm.s have dem.nstrated their ability to accelerate electrons by a novel non-adiabatic electron acceleration m.chanism.serve as an additional avenue for energy dissipation during m.gnetic reconnection,and generate diverse wave phenom.na,including whistler waves,electrostatic solitary waves,and electron cyclotron waves in space *** results highlight the m.gnetic hole’s im.act such as wave-particle interaction,energy cascade/dissipation,and particle acceleration/heating in space *** end this paper by sum.arizing these discoveries,discussing the generation m.chanism.sim.lar structures,and observations in the Earth’s m.gnetotail and solar wind,and presenting a future extension perspective in this active field.
