In this paper,we introduce an extension of a splitting method for singularly perturbed equations,the socalled RS-IMEX splitting[kaiser et al.,Journal of Scientific Computing,70(3),1390–1407],to deal with the fully compressible Euler *** straightforward application of the splitting yields sub-equations that are,due to the occurrence of complex eigenvalues,not hyperbolic.A modification,slightly changing the convective flux,is introduced that overcomes this *** is shown that the splitting gives rise to a discretization that respects the low-Mach number limit of the Euler equations;numerical results using finite volume and discontinuous Galerkin schemes show the potential of the discretization.

BACKGROUND Although oxaliplatin is widely established as a standard treatment in colorectal cancer(CRC),oxaliplatin-induced neuropathy has emerged as a prominent doselimiting side effect associated with quality of life *** monitoring and management of neuropathy is important for CRC patient quality of life and adherence to ***,a validated self-reported measure of neuropathy would aid in the management and assessment of oxaliplatininduced neuropathy in clinical practice and *** sought to evaluate the content validity of the 13-item Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy/Gynecologic Oncology Group-Neurotoxicity subscale(FACT/GOGNtx)for CRC patients receiving *** To understand the neuropathy experiences of CRC patients and assess content validity of the FACT/*** Semi-structured concept elicitation and cognitive debriefing interviews were conducted with 31 CRC patients experiencing peripheral neuropathy from current or previous oxaliplatin *** data were analyzed using a constant comparative approach,and data were mapped to the FACT/GOG-Ntx to assess content *** Mean age of the sample was 54(range 34-82).The sample was primarily Caucasian(84%)and consisted of nearly equal numbers of men and *** described 28 unique neuropathy symptoms;hand tingling(experienced by 87%of respondents);feet tingling(81%);hand numbness(68%);and feet numbness(84%)were most frequently *** symptoms occurring on the feet were most often identified as most bothersome by *** of the 13 FACT/GOG-Ntx items exhibited moderate to strong evidence of content *** items related to trouble hearing and ringing in the ears had weak support;however,these items represent severe neuropathy and could be useful for a patient reported outcome *** The FACT/GOG-Ntx represents the key neuropathy experiences of CRC patients treated with oxaliplatin.

Cultivated potato is a clonally propagated autotetraploid species with a highly heterogeneous *** assemblies of six cultivars including two chromosome-scale phased genome assemblies revealed extensive allelic diversity,including altered coding and transcript sequences,preferential allele expression,and structural variation that collectively result in a highly complex transcriptome and predicted proteome,which are distributed across the homologous *** species contribute to the extensive allelic diversity in tetraploid cultivars,demonstrating ancestral introgressions predating modern breeding *** a clonally propagated autotetraploid that undergoes limited meiosis,dysfunctional and deleterious alleles are not purged in tetraploid *** a quarter of the loci bore mutations are predicted to have a high negative impact on protein function,complicating breeder’s efforts to reduce genetic *** StCDF1 locus controls maturity,and analysis of six tetraploid genomes revealed that 12 allelic variants of StCDF1 are correlated with maturity in a dosage-dependent *** of the complexity of the tetraploid potato genome with its rampant structural variation and embedded deleterious and dysfunctional alleles will be key not only to implementing precision breeding of tetraploid cultivars but also to the construction of homozygous,diploid potato germplasm containing favorable alleles to capitalize on heterosis in F1 hybrids.
