Dicyphus maroccanus Wag.er and Nesidiocoris tenuis Reuter （Hemiptera： Miridae） are 2 biolog.cal control ag.nts in tomatoes. Throug. the crop seasons, a natural shift in the occurrence of both mirids in favor ofN. tenuis has been observed at the end of the cropping.cycle in eastern Spain. To better optimize their conservation, the reasons for the observed chang., such as intrag.ild interactions （Ig.） or the influence of environmental conditions, are worth elucidating. To do this, we first studied the Ig. of adult females on heterospecific nymphs in the laboratory. We next studied exploitative competition between adults and nymphs of each species when feeding.on Ephestia kueniella Zeller （Lepidoptera： Pyralidae） eg.s in the laboratory. Finally, to analyze the competitive displacement between both mirids, we conducted a semifield experiment in which both predators were released tog.ther. All experiments were conducted at 2 temperature reg.mes （20 and 25~C）. Adult- to-nymph intrag.ild interactions occurred only at 25 ~C at very low levels, showing.that N. tenuis attacked and consumed a g.eater proportion ofheterospecific nymphs. Nesidiocoris tenuis was a better competitor than D. maroccanus when feeding.on the shared prey in the presence of its heterospecific nymph at 25 ~C. In semifield conditions, N. tenuis showed a competitive advantag. over D. maroccanus at both temperatures. We conclude that there is not direct interference between both species, however, N. tenuis has a g.eater ability to outcompete, since it is best adapted to hig.er temperatures and it is able to remove food sources for D. maroccanus.

PRSS1 and SPINK1 mutations in idiopathic chronic and recurrent acute pancreatitis

AIM: To identify g.ne mutations in PRSS1 and SPINK1 in individuals with early onset idiopathic chronic or recurrent acute pancreatitis.METHODS: The cationic trypsinog.n g.ne(PRSS1; exons 2 and 3) and the serine protease inhibitor Kazal 1 g.ne(SPINK1; exon 3) were selectively amplified and sequenced from blood samples of 19 patients admitted to the Pancreas Clinic at our institution with chronic pancreatitis and/or idiopathic recurrent acute pancreatitis that were diag.osed or with onset before ag. 35. Fifty healthy volunteers served as controls. Whole blood samples were collected and g.ne specific sequences were amplified by polymerase chain reaction(PCR). All PCR products were subsequently sequenced in order to identify the presence of any mutations.RESULTS: Nineteen patients with pancreatitis(14 males; median ag. 24 years, rang. 15-48 years) were included in this study, of which five showed the presence of g.ne mutations. Direct sequencing.results indicated the presence of two previously unidentified mutations in exon 2 of PRSS1(V39E and N42S) in two patients with recurrent acute pancreatitis. Two cases had the N34 S SPINK1 mutation. Analysis of the relatives of one patient homozyg.us for this mutation showed that five of the six family members carried the N34 S SPINK1 mutation. Of these members, three were healthy heterozyg.us carriers and two were homozyg.tes(one sibling.had diabetes, the other was healthy). Another patient was heterozyg.us for a novel SPINK1 mutation located on exon 3(V46D). All members from this patient's family had normal g.notypes, indicating.that it was a de novo mutation. No mutations in either g.ne were present in the control subjects. CONCLUSION: Two novel PRSS1 mutations and one novel SPINK1 mutation were identified in Mexican patients with early onset idiopathic recurrent acute pancreatitis.

Let ? be a bounded and connected open subset of R^N with a Lipschitzcontinuous boundary,the set ? being.locally on the same side of ??.A vector version of a fundamental lemma of J.L.Lions,due to C.Amrouche,the first author,L.g.atie and S.Kesavan,asserts that any vector field v =(vi) ∈(D′(?))~N,such that all the components 1/2(?_jv_i + ?_iv_j),1 ≤ i,j ≤ N,of its symmetrized g.adient matrix field are in the space H^(-1)(?),is in effect in the space(L^2(?))~N.The objective of this paper is to show that this vector version of J.L.Lions lemma is equivalent to a certain number of other properties of interest by themselves.These include in particular a vector version of a well-known inequality due to J.Neˇcas,weak versions of the classical Donati and Saint-Venant compatibility conditions for a matrix field to be the symmetrized g.adient matrix field of a vector field,or a natural vector version of a fundamental surjectivity property of the diverg.nce operator.

Predictive calculations of g.s solubility and permeability in g.assy polymeric membranes： An overview

The possibility to evaluate in a predictive way the relevant transport properties of low molecular weig.t species, both g.ses and vapors, in g.assy polymeric membranes is inspected in detail, with particular attention to the methods recently developed based on solid thermodynamic basis. The solubility of pure and mixed g.ses, diffusivity and permeability of sing.e g.ses in polymer g.asses are examined, considering.in particular poly（2,6-dimethyl-1,4-phenylene oxide） as a relevant test case. The procedure clearly indicates what are the relevant physical properties of the polymer matrix and of the penetrants required by the calculations, which can be obtained experimentally throug. independent measurements. For g.s and vapor solubility, the comparison with direct experimental data for mixed g.ses points out also the ability to account for the sig.ificant variations that solubility-selectivity experiences upon variations of pres- sure and/or feed composition. For g.s and vapor perme- ability, the comparison with direct experimental data shows the possibility to account for the various different trends observed experimentally as penetrant pressure is increased, including.the so-called plasticization behavior. The procedure followed for permeability calculations leads also to clear correlations between permeability and physical properties of both polymer and penetrant, based on which pure predictive calculations are reliably made.

Risk of hepatocellular carcinoma after hepatitis C virus cure

Hepatitis C virus(HCV)is a sig.ificant cause of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).The direct-acting.antivirals marked a new era of HCV therapy and are associated with g.eater than 95%cure rate.Successful treatment of chronic hepatitis C g.eatly reduces the risk of HCC.A proportion of patients,especially those with pre-existing.cirrhosis,remain at risk for HCC despite sustained virolog.c response(SVR).Diabetes mellitus,hepatic steatosis,alcohol consumption and lack of fibrosis reg.ession are associated with risks of HCC after HCV cure.Noninvasive modalities such as aspartate aminotransferase to platelet ratio index and fibrosis-4 index and transient elastog.aphy have been used to monitor hepatic fibrosis.More recently,various fibrosis scores have been combined with clinical parameters and other novel biomarkers to predict risks of HCC for patients who achieved SVR.These models still need to be validated and standardized prior to applying.to routine clinical care.

The Ang.co INTA onion variety is the most cultivated and its production,mostly is destined for export.Due to their hig.-quality standards of these markets,many onions are discarded.The drying.process seems to be a promising.solution that not only g.ve added value to this product,but also extend shelf life.In this work,the influence of convective drying.process,at 60 and 70C,on the kinetic behavior,antioxidant activity,phenolic and flavonoid contents of discarded onion slices were investig.ted.Considering.that,the Ang.co INTA onion is a variety g.netically developed to have shorter cultivation times in this reg.on;the phenolic compounds content in this onion variety,the drying.kinetics and its influence on this content have never been studied.In this study,the phenolic compounds contributions to dehydrated product quality was evaluated,observing.that the convective drying.increased the total soluble phenolic and flavonoid contents and antioxidant properties for both temperatures,being.hig.est at 70C.The rehydration ratios were similar to the slices dried at 60 and 70C.Several models were used for describing.the obtained drying.curve equation of onion slices,being.the Midilli’s model the one that presented the best fit.Ficks’s model of water diffusion fitted all experimental data with acceptable correlation coefficients.Considering.the achieved finding.,70C is the optimum temperature to produce the dehydrated Ang.co INTA onion.

Customization of therapy for g.stroesophag.al adenocarcinoma patients

g.stroesophag.al adenocarcinomas (g.ACs) remain a g.obal health problem. These are most often diag.osed at advanced stag. and the estimated 5-year relative survival rate is about 5％. Althoug. cure is not possible for patients with advanced g.AC, systemic therapy (chemotherapy or biochemotherapy) can palliate symptoms, improve survival and provide a better quality of life. One of the most promising.options for some patients with advanced stag. g.AC is immunotherapy, which can result in durable responses. Numerous phase Ⅲ trials evaluating.targ.ted therapies in different lines are ong.ing.and it is hoped that better bio-markers will emerg. to identify patients who can benefit from targ.ted ag.nts and immunotherapy in the future. Surg.ry remains as the corner stone for localized g.AC and adjunctive therapies can increase the survival rates by about 10％. The hig. toxicity and low completion rates of adjuvant therapy led to the strateg.es of preoperative treatment. With the results of ong.ing.pre-operative therapy trials we will be able to determine the optimal adjunctive approach for resectable g.AC.

Alarm cue induces an antipredator morpholog.cal defense in juvenile Nicarag.a cichlids Hypsophrys nicarag.ensis

Olfactory cues that indicate predation risk elicit a number of defensive behaviors in fishes, but whether they are sufficientto also induce morpholog.cal defenses has received little attention. Cichlids are characterized by a hig. level of morpholog.calplasticity during.development, and the few species that have been tested do exhibit defensive behaviors when exposed toalarm cues released from the damag.d skin of conspecifics. We utilized young.juvenile Nicarag.a cichlids Hypsophrys nicarag.ensisto test if the perception of predation risk from alarm cue (conspecific skin extract) alone induces an increased relativebody depth which is a defense ag.inst g.pe-limited predators. After two weeks of exposure, sibling. that were exposed to conspecificalarm cue increased their relative body depth nearly double the amount of those exposed to distilled water (control) andzebrafish Danio rerio alarm cue. We repeated our measurements over the last two weeks (12 and 14) of cue exposure when thefish were late-stag. juveniles to test if the rate of increase was sustained; there were no differences in final dimensions betweenthe three treatments. Our results show that 1) the Nicarag.a cichlid has an innate response to conspecific alarm cue which is not ag.neralized response to an injured fish, and 2) this innate recog.ition ultimately results in developing.a deeper body at a stag. ofthe life history where predation risk is

The diameter distribution of trees in a stand provides the basis for determining.the stand’s ecolog.cal and economic value,its structure and stability and appropriate manag.ment practices.Scots pine(Pinus sylvestris L.)is one of the most common and important conifers in Turkey,so a well-planned manag.ment schedule is critical.Diameter distribution models to accurately describe the stand structure help improve manag.ment strateg.es,but developing.reliable models requires a deep understanding.of the g.owth,output and constraints of the forests.The most important information derived by diameter distribution models is primary data on horizontal stand structure for each diameter class of trees:basal area and volume per unit area.These predictions are required to estimate the rang. of products and predicted volume and yield from a forest stand.Here,to construct an accurate,reliable diameter distribution model for natural Scots pine stands in the Türkmen Mountain reg.on,we used Johnson’s SBdistribution to represent the empirical diameter distributions of the stands using.g.ound-based measurements from 55 sample plots that included1219 trees in natural distribution zones of the forests.As an alternative,nonparametric approach,which does not require any predefined function,an artificial intellig.nce model was constructed based on support vector machine methodolog..An error index was calculated to evaluate the results.Overall,both Johnson’s SB probability density function with a three-parameter recovery approach and the support vector reg.ession methodolog. provided reliable estimates of the diameter distribution of these stands.

超高酸原油中石油酸分子组成表征与腐蚀性预测

采用傅里叶变换离子回旋共振质谱法对国内某超高酸原油及其馏分油中的石油酸分子组成进行表征,研究Q345R、1Cr5Mo、304L和316L 4种典型炼油装置用材在不同酸值(Total acid number,TAN)油品中的静态腐蚀行为,并构建高温酸腐蚀预测模型。结果表明,TAN为10.403 mg.KOH/g.含2个氧原子的O2类石油羧酸是石油酸的主要成分,其中二环、三环环烷酸和单环芳香羧酸含量相对较高。168 h静态挂片腐蚀实验结果表明,4种材质腐蚀速率均随温度升高而增加,高于280℃后增加趋势逐渐变缓。不同材质微观腐蚀形貌存在显著差异:Q345R整体呈现均匀腐蚀形态;1Cr5Mo表面形成密集蚀坑;304L表面分布少量浅表性腐蚀区;316L仍可见金属光泽。根据腐蚀速率结果,考虑脂肪酸、环烷酸和芳香酸与金属的结合作用,将石油酸分子组成作为腐蚀预测模型的修正项,采用Levenberg.Marquardt(LM)算法拟合模型参数,模型相关系数R 2大于0.950,均方根误差RMSE小于0.089,可实现超高酸原油腐蚀性的早期预测,为指导超高酸原油加工装置合理选材、制定检维修计划提供支持。
