In this paper we work with a special theory of gravity|the Novello-Di Lorenci-Luciane (hereby called NDL theory) which extends the Feynman-Deser standard theoretical-fi eld approach to General Relativity. In the so-called NDL theory, matter interacts universally with gravity in accordance with the Weak Equivalence Principle, while gravitons have a nonlinear self-interaction. Our main aim in this work is to show that, though the NDL theory does not admit a Schwarzschild solution, the Jebsen-Birkhoff theorem is still valid in this framework.

Bats are the second-most diverse group of mammals in the world,and bat flies are their main ***,significant knowledge gaps remain regarding these antagonistic interactions,especially since diverse factors such as seasonality and host sex can affect their network ***,we explore the influence of such factors by comparing species richness and composition of bat flies on host bats,as well as specialization and modularity of bat–bat fly interaction networks between seasons and adult host *** captured bats and collected their ectoparasitic flies at 10 sampling sites in the savannahs of AmapáState,northeastern region of the Brazilian *** female bats being more parasitized and recording greater bat fly species richness in the wet season,neither relationship was statistically *** pooled network could be divided into 15 compartments with 54 links,and all subnetworks comprised>12 *** total number of links ranged from 27 to 48(for the dry and wet seasons,respectively),and female and male subnetworks had 44 and 41 links,*** values were very low for the pooled network and for all *** results revealed higher bat fly species richness and abundance in the wet season,whereas specialization and modularity were higher in the dry ***,the subnetwork for female bats displayed higher specialization and modularity than the male ***,both seasonality and host sex contribute in different ways to bat–bat fly network *** studies should consider these factors when evaluating bat–bat fly interaction networks.

Background Schistosomiasis is highly endemic in sub-Saharan Africa and frequently imported to Europe. Male urogenital manifestations are often neglected. We aimed to ascertain the prevalence of genitourinary clinical signs and symptoms among long-term African migrants in a non-endemic European country using a serology *** We carried out a prospective, community-based cross-sectional study of adult male migrants from sub-Saharan Africa living in *** serology tests and microscopic urine examinations were carried out, and clinical data were obtained from an electronic medical record search and a structured *** We included 388 adult males, mean age 43.5 years [Standard Deviation (SD) = 12.0, range: 18–76]. The median time since migration to the European Union was 17 [Interquartile range (IQR): 11–21] years. The most frequent country of origin was Senegal (N = 179, 46.1%). Of the 338, 147 (37.6%) tested positive forSchistosoma. Parasite eggs were present in the urine of only 1.3%. Nine genitourinary clinical items were significantly associated with positiveSchistosoma serology results: pelvic pain (45.2%;OR = 1.57, 95%CI: 1.0–2.4), pain on ejaculation (14.5%;OR = 1.85, 95%CI: 1.0–3.5), dyspareunia (12.4%;OR = 2.45, 95%CI: 1.2–5.2), erectile dysfunction (9.5%;OR = 3.10, 95%CI: 1.3–7.6), self-reported episodes of infertility (32.1%;OR = 1.69, 95%CI: 1.0–2.8), haematuria (55.2%;OR = 2.37, 95%CI: 1.5–3.6), dysuria (52.1%;OR = 2.01, 95%CI: 1.3–3.1), undiagnosed syndromic STIs (5.4%), and orchitis (20.7%;OR = 1.81, 95%CI: 1.0–3.1). An influence game is a simple game represented over an influence graph(i.e.,a labeled,weighted graph)on which the influence spread phenomenon is *** games allow applying different properties and parameters coming from cooperative game theory to the contexts of social network analysis,decision-systems,voting systems,and collective *** exact calculation of several of these properties and parameters is computationally hard,even for a small number of *** examples of these parameters are the length and the width of a *** length of a game is the size of its smaller winning coalition,while the width of a game is the size of its larger losing *** parameters are relevant to know the levels of difficulty in reaching agreements in collective decision-making *** the above,new bio-inspired metaheuristic algorithms have recently been developed to solve the NP-hard influence maximization problem in an efficient and approximate way,being able to find small winning coalitions that maximize the influence spread within an influence *** this article,we apply some variations of this solution to find extreme winning and losing coalitions,and thus efficient approximate solutions for the length and the width of influence *** a case study,we consider two real social networks,one formed by the 58 members of the European Union Council under nice voting rules,and the other formed by the 705 members of the European Parliament,connected by political *** are promising and show that it is feasible to generate approximate solutions for the length and width parameters of influence games,in reduced solving time.

BACKGROUND As people living with human immunodeficiency virus(HIV)(PLWH)enjoy longer life expectancy with highly effective antiretroviral therapy,they are encountering challenging cardiovascular health *** To retrospectively examine the increasing burden of cardiovascular diseases in PLWH over the past *** All hospitalizations for heart failure(HF),ischemic heart disease(IHD),and cerebrovascular disease(CeVD)in PLWH were identified using the International Classification of Diseases,Ninth Revision,Clinical Modification(ICD-9-CM)and ICD-10-CM codes in the National Inpatient Sample from 2008 to *** included number of hospitalizations,in-hospital mortality,length of stay,and total hospital *** of the outcomes from 2008 to 2018 were analyzed using Cochran-Armitage_(trend)test and simple linear *** The number of hospitalizations for HF in PLWH increased from 4212 in 2008 to 6700 in 2018(P_(trend)<0.01).Similar increasing_(trend)was seen with those for IHD and CeVD over the decade(P_(trend)<0.01).A decreasing_(trend)of in-hospital mortality was observed in all hospitalizations of PLWH(P_(trend)<0.01)and CeVD in PLWH(P_(trend)<0.01),but not in those for HF(P_(trend)=0.67)and IHD(P_(trend)=0.13).The_(trend)of length of stay was decreasing in all hospitalizations of PLWH(P_(trend)<0.01),but increasing in those for HF in PLWH(P_(trend)<0.01).An increasing_(trend)of total hospital charge was observed in hospitalizations for HF,IHD,and CeVD(P_(trend)<0.01).CONCLUSION The burden of cardiovascular diseases has significantly increased in hospitalizations of PLWH from 2008 to *** efforts are needed to address the additional cardiovascular risks in this vulnerable population.

The motive of this work is to present a computational design using the stochastic scaled conjugate gradient(SCG)neural networks(NNs)called as SCGNNs for the socio-ecological dynamics(SED)with reef ecosystems and conservation *** mathematical descriptions of the SED model are provided that is dependent upon five categories,macroalgae M(v),breathing coral C(v),algal turf T(v),the density of parrotfish P(v)and the opinion of human opinion X(v).The stochastic SCGNNs process is applied to formulate the SEDmodel based on the sample statistics,testing,accreditation and *** different variations of the SED have been provided to authenticate the stochastic SCGNNs performance through the statics for training,accreditation,and testing are 77%,12%and 11%,*** obtained numerical performances have been compared with the Runge-Kutta approach to solve the *** reduction of mean square error(MSE)is used to investigate the numericalmeasures through the SCGNNs for solving the SED *** precision of the SCGNNs is validated through the comparison of the results and the absolute error *** reliability of the SCGNNs is performed by using the correlation values,state transitions(STs),error histograms(EHs),MSE measures and regression analysis.

The formation and evolution of cosmic string wakes in the framework of a f(R) theory of gravity are investigated in this work. We consider a simple model in which baryonic matter flows past a cosmic string. We treat this problem in the Zel’dovich approximation. We compare our results with previous results obtained in the context of General Relativity and Scalar-Theories of Gravity.
