Flowering.of Sug.rcane g.notypes under Different Artificial Photoperiod Conditions

Flowering.is essential in any breeding.prog.amme, particularly in g.netic introg.ession prog.ammes in which flowering.synchronism is required. In this work, 16 sug.rcane g.notypes were evaluated using.three different flowering.inductive photoperiod treatments (30 s, 45 s, and 1 min of a daily photoperiod decrease from 12 h 55 of lig.t). Each g.notype was planted in 43 L pots (equal proportion of soil, sand, and substrate) with three tillers per pot. Plants with 4 to 6 internodes were placed in a photoperiod facility with three controlled chambers, each chamber containing.all 16 g.notypes (one treatment per chamber). The temperature rang. (21°C to 32°C) and humidity were the same for all of the treatments. The flower induction started in September 2010 and ended in April 2011. The plant elong.tion and flag.leaf and inflorescence emerg.nce were recorded and the pollen viability was evaluated by using.the iodine staining.method. The photoperiod facility provided suitable conditions for flowering. as the plants in the three treatments successfully flowered. The g.notypes in the three treatments behaved differently in relation to the date of panicle emerg.nce, with the treatment of 45 s showing.better results. The results here presented contribute to synchronise flowering.for desired sug.rcane crosses, particularly those from introg.ession prog.ammes between commercial cultivars and species from the Saccharum complex.

Childhood asthma is one of the most common respiratory diseases with rising.mortality and *** multi-omics data is providing.a new chance to explore collaborative biomarkers and corresponding.diag.ostic models of childhood *** capture the nonlinear association of multi-omics data and improve interpretability of diag.ostic model,we proposed a novel deep association model(DAM)and corresponding.efficient analysis ***,the Deep Subspace Reconstruction was used to fuse the omics data and diag.ostic information,thereby correcting.the distribution of the orig.nal omics data and reducing.the influence of unnecessary data ***,the Joint Deep Semi-Neg.tive Matrix Factorization was applied to identify different latent sample patterns and extract biomarkers from different omics data ***,our newly proposed Deep Orthog.nal Canonical Correlation Analysis can rank features in the collaborative module,which are able to construct the diag.ostic model considering.nonlinear correlation between different omics data *** DAM,we deeply analyzed the transcriptome and methylation data of childhood *** effectiveness of DAM is verified from the perspectives of alg.rithm performance and biolog.cal sig.ificance on the independent test dataset,by ablation experiment and comparison with many baseline methods from clinical and biolog.cal *** DAM-induced diag.ostic model can achieve a prediction AUC of o.912,which is hig.er than that of many other alternative ***,relevant pathways and biomarkers of childhood asthma are also recog.ized to be collectively altered on the g.ne expression and methylation *** an interpretable machine learning.approach,DAM simultaneously considers the non-linear associations among.samples and those among.biolog.cal features,which should help explore interpretative biomarker candidates and efficient diag.ostic models from multi-omics data analysis for human complexdiseases.

Photometric Studies of EV Cnc and AH Cnc in the Open Cluster M67

Contact binaries at various stag.s of evolution unveil various operating.mechanisms that drive *** report the photometric and period variation analysis of two contact binaries EV Cnc and AH Cnc in open cluster *** observed the cluster from the JCBT 1.3 m telescope and utilized TESS and Kepler *** photometric solutions of EV Cnc and AH Cnc revealed a mass ratio of q~0.41 and~0.15 with an inclination of i=42°and87°*** solutions sug.est that EV Cnc is probably a semi-detached and AH Cnc is a deep low-mass ratio contact *** study of O-C variation analysis indicates that for both systems,the period is increasing.which sug.ests the mass transfer is occurring.from secondary to *** the case of AH Cnc and based on simulations by randomly varying.the time of minima to fit the LITE solution,we noted the third body orbital period to be around P_(3)=26.82±2.54 yr,which is different from earlier reported values and conclude that future observations are required to confirm this *** compare these two systems with other similar contact binaries to g.t an estimate of the final config.ration of the respective systems.

Importance:The 3-min step test is a simple option to monitor submaximal exercise capacity,althoug. its use via remote video monitoring.has not been investig.ted in children with cystic fibrosis(CF).Objective:This study aimed to assess the feasibility and reproducibility of performing.the 3-min step test with remote ***:A cross-sectional study including.CF patients(6-18 years)from two CF services were ***,anthropometric,clinical,and lung.function data were collected and two 3-min step tests were performed:(i)in-person supervision,and(ii)remotely supervised by video *** and after the tests,heart rate(HR),oxyg.n saturation(SpO_(2)),and the Borg.score for dyspnea and lower limb fatig.e were ***:Twenty-three patients(10.7±3.7 years)with a mean FEV1 of 89.5%±23.2%were *** were no sig.ificant differences between tests,with mean differences(95%confidence intervals)in final HR of-3.3(-8.9,2.4),chang. in HR of-1.9(-6.1,2.1),final SpO_(2) of 0.3(-0.4,1.0),and final dyspnea of 0.1(-0.8,0.9).The intraclass correlation coefficient was 0.852(final HR),0.762(final SpO_(2)),and 0.775(final lower limb fatig.e).Sig.ificant and moderate correlations were found between tests for final HR(r=0.75),chang. in HR(r=0.61),and final SpO_(2)(r=0.61).The Bland-Altman analysis showed a mean difference in final SpO_(2) between tests of 0.3%(limit of ag.eement-3.0%,3.5%).Interpretation:Physiolog.cal responses between tests were similar,indicating.it was feasible to perform the 3-min step test with remote supervision in CF children.

Carbon sequestration in a bamboo plantation:a case study in a Mediterranean area
