碲化镉的相对分子量为240,密度为5.885 g/cm^(3),熔点为1092℃。碲化镉是一种Ⅱ-Ⅵ族的化合物半导体材料,属于直接带隙型,带隙宽度为1.56 eV。碲化镉是制造X射线、伽马射线和红外线探测器的基本材料。对碲化镉的特别关注主要是由于其大原子数和大的光电吸收截面。在基于CdTe的伽马辐射势垒探测器结构中,其表面的处理方法之一是纳秒激光照射,在某些情况下,纳秒激光照射可以在触点(Ag、In、Au)和势垒形成的技术处理阶段优化所需的表面参数。另一种方法是在脉冲激光照射下在碲化镉表面形成有序的纳米结构。对基于半导体及其结构的脉冲激光器,可根据其不同的脉冲持续时间τ_(p)和辐射波长λ将其分类。例如,红宝石激光器(λ=694 nm)、钕激光器(一次谐波1064 nm和两次谐波532 nm)、准分子KrF激光器(248 nm)和XeF激光器(351 nm)等,其脉冲持续时间分别为7、20、80、120 ns。这些激光器常被应用于表面修饰等领域。因此,往往有必要事先知道或至少估计在脉冲激光辐射下碲化镉表面的熔化温度和阈值,这取决于激光脉冲持续时间τ_(p)、辐射波长(光吸收系数α(λ))以及碲化镉表面本身的电物理参数,特别是表面重组率S和非平衡电荷载流子的寿命。这些参数取决于表面处理的方法和掺杂物的浓度。在上述情况下,实验研究是非常耗费人力和时间的,因此基于τ_(p)、α(λ)和碲化镉表面本身的电物理参数对融化阈值th和表面温度进行理论计算变得非常重要。本工作采用激光照射碲化镉,辐射波长为300~800 nm,脉冲持续时间为7~120 ns。为了以非破坏性的和有效的方法来管理接近表面层状态的CdTe,在T=80 K下进行了光致发光实验。为了监测熔化阈值,研究了由Acrorad公司制造和抛光的尺寸为5 mm×5 mm×0.5 mm的Cl补偿p-CdTe(111)单晶的光致发光光谱。经过研究发现,在激光脉冲寿命从7ns到1μs的范围内,CdTe熔化阈值明显取决于光吸收系数α(λ)。因为在脉冲寿命长于1μs的情况下,热扩散深度明显大于CdTe中的激光辐射穿透深度,并开始依赖于反射系数R(λ)。对于较短的激光脉冲长度τ_(p),当辐射波长λ变化时,熔化阈值会发生显著变化。同时,非平衡过剩载流子参数的变化(如表面重组速度S从10^(3)m/s增加到10^(5)m/s,还有扩散深度ld从0.4μm增加到2μm)会对CdTe熔化阈值产生至少25%的影响。而且红宝石激光的脉冲持续时间在(20±5)ns区间内的变化导致相对熔化阈值的变化(ΔIth/Ith)为35%。CdTe熔化阈值的计算值可以有效地被用于优化脉冲激光对晶体的表面处理与掺杂。

Helicobacter pylori infection in bleeding peptic ulcer patients after non-steroidal antiinflammatory drug consumption

AIM： TO establish the prevalence of He/icobacterpy/on （H. pylori） infection in patients with a bleeding peptic ulcer after consumption of non-steroidal antiinflammatory drugs （NSAIDs）.METHODS： A very early upper endoscopy was performed to find the source of upper gastrointestinal bleeding and to take biopsy specimens for analysis of H. pylori infection by the rapid urease （CLO） test, his- tological examination, and bacterial culture. TgG anti- CagA were also sought. The gold standard for identifying H. pylori infection was positive culture of biopsy specimens or contemporary positivity of the CLO test and the presence of H. pylori on tissue ***： Eighty patients, 61 males （76.3%）, mean age 61.2 ~ 15.9 years, were consecutively enrolled. Forty-seven （58.8%） patients occasionally consumed NSAIDs, while 33 （41.3%） were on chronic treatment with low-dose aspirin （ld ASA）. Forty-four （55.0%） patients were considered infected by H. pylori. The infection rate was not different between patients who occasionally or chronically consumed NSAIDs. The culture of biopsy specimens had a sensitivity of 86.4% and a specificity of 100%; corresponding figures for histological analysis were 65.9% and 77.8%, for the CLO test were 68.2% and 75%, for the combined use of histology and the CLO test were 56.8% and 100%, and for IgG anti-CagA were 90% and 98%. The high- est accuracy （92.5%） was obtained with the culture of biopsy ***： Patients with a bleeding peptic ulcer after NSAID/ld ASA consumption frequently have H. pylori infection. Biopsy specimen culture after an early upper gastrointestinal tract endoscopy seems the most efficient test to detect this infection.

Electroreduction of Tungsten Oxide（VI） in Molten Salts with Added Metaphosphate

Tungstate ions WO4^2- are not electrochemically active in chloride melts. Upon introduction of PO3 ions into the melt, two waves appear in the voltammograms at potentials -0.1-- -0.2 V and -0.3-- -0.5 V vs. Pb/Pb2＋ reference electrode. With a PO3- concentration ratio of 0.01〈[PO3-]/[WO42-]〈0.18, the potentiostatic electrolysis product of WO42 at the above mentioned potentials is metallic tungsten; a NaPO3 concentration increase for ratios [PO3-]/[WO42-]〉〉0.18 results in tungsten phosphide in electrolysis product. Cyclic voltammograms and dependence of half-peak potentials on electrode polarization rate indicate the irreversible character of the electrode process. Elec- trode process modeling allows us to state that the first wave in the voltammogram of KC1-NaC1-Na2WOa-NaPO3 sys- tem corresponds to tungsten oxychlorides discharge while the second wave appears due to the discharge of di- tungstate ions. In the voltammograms of Na2WOa-NaPO3 melts, reduction wave was observed at -1.1-- -1.2 V po- tentials. Proportionality of limiting current to NaPO3 concentration, constancy of ld/V1/2 ratio, and IJnFc constant ki- netic value equal to （8.3--9.5）×10-5 cm/s for steady-state wave indicate that electrode process rate is limited by elec- trochemically active particle diffusion to the electrode. Nascent ditungstate ions become electrochemically active in the overall electrode process. Charge transfer stage is reversible.

Increased levels of stress hormones in the muscle could lead to post mortem metabolic/structural modiifcations that could be relfected on meat quality. The present study investigated the metabolic effect of either adrenaline or cortisol injected into lambs in order to obtain an animal model of acute stress. Results showed that adrenaline or cortisol injection lead to glucose metabolism and muscle temperature increase. Muscle pH immediately post mortem was affected by adrenaline treatment. Water holding capacity （WHC） of fresh muscle, ifnal muscle pH and temperature registered at 24 h post mortem were not affected by injected hormones. Hardness and adhesiveness of ld muscle evaluated 3 d post mortem tended to increase as a result of adrenaline or cortisol injection. Results demonstrated that injected hormones were able to affect the post mortem muscle biochemistry and the pH/T curve independently of ifnal muscle pH.

Improvement of Detection Methods and Further Characterization of <i>Spiroplasma citri</i>, the Causal Agent of Citrus Stubborn Disease in Egypt

Stubborn disease of citrus is one of the main causes of quality deterioration of citrus fruits in Egypt. The early detection and the molecular characterization of the causal agent are vital for revealing its real distribution and for management. In 2011, several samples were collected at different times of the year from stubborn suspected symptomatic trees within the main citrus growing area in Egypt, the Nile-delta region. After culturing the causal agent on artificial ld8 media from the field fresh samples, two new and improved methods of biological indexing were set up and compared with the traditional method in order to increase the detection efficiency by increasing the greenhouse transmission rate;which reached 85% with the new inverse inoculation method. Different PCR primer pairs were evaluated for their detection efficiency of the Egyptian Isolates of Spiroplasma citri and the most specific primer pair for these local isolates was determined. Improving the efficiency of biological indexing, along with determining the most specific and efficient PCR primer pair for the detection, will enhance and facilitate the citrus certification programs in Egypt, making them better tools for the early detection of stubborn disease. Furthermore obtained Egyptian isolates were characterized molecularly by the analysis of the obtained sequences showing close relationship with the Moroccan strain (GII3).

Background： The aim of this study was to estimate variance components and to identify genomic regions and pathways associated with resistance to gastrointestinal parasites, particularly Haemonchus contortus, in a breed of sheep adapted to tropical climate. Phenotypes evaluations were performed to verify resistance to gastrointestinal parasites, and were divided into two categories： i） farm phenotypes, assessing body condition score（BCS）, degree of anemia assessed by the famacha chart（FAM）, fur score（FS） and feces consistency（FC）; and ii） lab phenotypes,comprising blood analyses for hematocrit（HCT）, white blood cell count（WBC）, red blood cell count（RBC）,hemoglobin（HGB）, platelets（PLT） and transformed（log10） egg per gram of feces（EPG_（log））. A total of 576 animals were genotyped with the Ovine SNP12k Bead Chip（Illumina, Inc.）, that contains 12,785 bialleleic SNP markers. The variance components were estimated using a single trait model by single step genomic BLUP ***： The overall linkage disequilibrium（ld） mean between pairs of markers measured by r2 was 0.23. The overall ld mean between markers considering windows up to 10 Mb was 0.07. The mean ld between adjacent SNPs across autosomes ranged from 0.02 to 0.10. Heritability estimates were low for EPG_（log）（0.11）, moderate for RBC（0.18）, PLT（0.17） HCT（0.20）, HGB（0.16） and WBC（0.22）, and high for FAM（0.35）. A total of 22, 21, 23, 20, 26, 25 and 23 windows for EPG_（log）for FAM, WBC, RBC, PLT, HCT and HGB traits were identified, respectively. Among the associated windows, 10 were shown to be common to HCT and HGB traits on OAR1, OAR2, OAR3, OAR5, OAR8 and ***： The traits indicating gastrointestinal parasites resistance presented an adequate genetic variability to respond to selection in Santa Inês breed, and it is expected a higher genetic gain for FAM trait when compared to the others. Tuning the Defects in AgO Nanoparticles/Graphene Bilayers System by Laser Power Density

The silver oxide nanoparticles （AgONps） used in this study was obtained by laser ablation technique. On the other hand, graphene bilayers were obtained through micro mechanic exfoliation. Both techniques are considered clean, simple and they have economic viability. The analyses have showed a positive charge in nanoparticles and alteration in Raman spectra caused by doping in the bilayer observing the appearing of D band. The alterations in the Raman spectrums are related with the introduced defects in the crystalline chain after the nanoparticles incorporation on bilayers. However, we have been doing a systematic study about the Raman laser output in only graphene bilayer and in graphene bilayer doped with nanoparticles. These measurements have shown a clear difference to both cases. The distance between defects has been showing to be inversely proportional to the ratio ID/I6 in the analyzed cases, increasing （up power） or lowering （down power） the incident laser output, with this it was possible to handle the defect distances in the case of AgO nanoparticles/graphene bilayers. Finally, we analyzed the ratio of the integrated area of D and G band, from these parameters are determined the defect density （ND） and the defects density （ld）. Thus, we clearly find a tuning between the ND and ld as a function of laser power density Raman using to λ = 532 nm.
