Nursing Diagnostics of Nutrition Domain of NANda International in Hemodialysis Patients

Introduction: The dialysis causes the loss of the nutrients and the elevation of catabolism, thus, patients in dialysis have at high risk for the loss of body reserves of protein and energy. objective: To identify nursing diagnoses of nutrition domain of NANda International in hemodialysis patients and to correlate them to the socioeconomic and clinical data. Design: Cross-sectional study. Setting: Performed in a large university hospital in northeastern Brazil. Participants: The first stage was carried out with 50 patients, selected with the following inclusion criteria: Being hospitalized and undergoing hemodialysis in that hospital;aged 18 years old or over;being conscious and oriented. Exclusion criteria were patients undergoing hemodialysis in that hospital with external service, pregnant women and patients being treated by plasmapheresis. In the second stage, participants were three nursing specialists in nephrology and nursing diagnoses. Methods: The defining characteristics of the nursing diagnoses inserted in the nutrition domain were observed in patients and then these data were judged by nurses, in order to identify diagnoses present in each patient. The Chi-square, Fisher’s exact and Mann-Whitney tests were used in the analysis of the relationship of socioeconomic and clinical data, with an adopted p value of p = 0.001), origin (p = 0.014), religion (p = 0.046) and income (p = 0.039), respectively. Conclusion: The variables that showed significant association were risk of impaired liver function and gender;imbalanced nutrition: More than body requirements and origin requirements;risk for deficient fluid volume and religion;and deficient fluid volume and income.

objective: The objective is to correlate the nursing diagnoses of the domain Safety/Protection of NANda-I in critically ill patients with sociodemographic and clinical data. Method: A cross-sectional study with 86 individuals was conducted, from october 2013 to May 2014 in the Intensive Care Unit of a university hospital in northeastern Brazil, through a formal interview and physical examination. Results: It was possible to identify a total of 20 significant statistical associations, and 15 were clinically justified by the literature, namely: risk for aspiration and reason for admission;impaired dentition and age;risk for peripheral neurovascular dysfunction and sex and comorbidity;skin integrity and comorbidity;risk for impaired skin integrity and gender and reason for admission;impaired tissue integrity and gender and reason for admission;risk for perioperative positioning injury and reason for admission;risk for thermal injury and age and comorbidity;delayed surgical recovery and reason for admission;risk for poisoning and years of schooling;and risk for imbalanced body temperature and age. Conclusions: By understanding the relationship between customers’ answers and the sociodemographic and clinical profile, positive health outcomes can be achieved in particular in the prevention of risks facing vulnerability characteristics, providing greater safety and protection for the critical customer.

In the Amazon region,several residues that have been misused can serve as feedstocks for biochar production with the aim of recovering soils contaminated by heavy ***,these biochars need to be firstly tested for their adsorption capacity as well as their physicochemical attributes prior to field ***,this study aimed to characterize and evaluate the adsorption capacities of Cd^(2+) and Cu^(2+) of biochars produced from acai(BA),Brazil nut(BN),and palm kernel cake(BK)*** were produced by slow pyrolysis at four different temperatures(400,500,600,and 700℃).The physicochemical properties of the biochars,such as cation exchange capacity,ash,recalcitrance index,and aromaticity were enhanced with increased pyrolysis *** adsorption capacities of Cd^(2+) and Cu^(2+) showed high correlations with the physicochemical properties of biochar,indicating the importance of these characteristics in the adsorption ***,the adsorption of Cd^(2+) and Cu^(2+) also increased with the increase in the pyrolysis *** a competitive system,Cd^(2+)exhibited higher adsorption capacity than Cu^(2+) for all *** general,BN showed the highest adsorption capacity,followed by BK and *** produced from the Amazonian residues have the potential to improve soil quality when used as amendments in the recovery of soils contaminated with Cd and Cu,representing an environmentally sound technology for the reuse of these residues.

ong>objective: ong>To investigate the factors associated with malaria vivax infection in children and adolescents from an endemic area in the Eastern portion of the Brazilian Amazon basin. ong>Methods:ong> A case-control study was carried out in the municipality of Anajas, Brazil, from January 2016 to September 2017. Questionnaires were applied to the relative or the legal tutors of children and adolescents with questions regarding social and economic status, educational degree, knowledge about malaria, and the use of protective measures against mosquito bites. Anthropometric measures were performed in children and adolescents. ong>Results:ong> A total of 58 cases and 61 controls were included in the study. Most of the participants were male, eutrophics, and their relatives presented low educational degrees as well as low social and economic status. The knowledge of malaria was limited, but the percentage of individuals using long-lasting insecticidal nets was high. The presence of peri-domiciliary breeding sites for Anopheles vector was the most critical factor for malaria. ong>Conclusion:ong> The occurrence of malaria was associated with low social and economic status, a low educational degree, the unfamiliarity with malaria and the presence of breeding sites for Anopheles mosquito surrounding individual domiciles.

Characterization of Bovine and ovine WPC obtained by Different Membrane Configuration Processes

The objective of this stud）, was to valorize bovine and ovine cheese whey resulting from small and medium cheese manufacture plants, by producing liquid and dr）＂ whey protein concentrates （LWPC and WPC）. The flexibility implemented by batch ultrafiltration （UF） and diafiltration （DF） allowed for the production and ovine WPC with 61 -87% （dry basis）. Diatiltration, performed in of liquid bovine WPC with 43-66% protein contents （dry basis） sequential dilution mode （DFsdm） did not improve significantly the composition of WPC liquid products comparing to the results achieved by conventional UF. However, using DF in volume reduction mode （DFvrm） protein content was increased more than 20% comparing to conventional UF. ovine products showed higher protein levels （62-84% dry basis） what makes their manufacture attractive. Protein profiles varied with the whey origin and with the concentration process. Using batch DFvrm was possible to obtain richer protein products free of low MW compounds.

X-Ray Vision: The Mental Genealogy of the Anatomy of the Interior of the Human Body

Background: The concepts of the Young Person and of an Elderly Person go through an evolutionary diversification during the Human lifecycle and are permeable to diverse biopsychosocial factors involved in the definition of the lifecycle stages. Therefore, assessing this subjectivity in different stages of development and population fringes may be a determinant key factor to assist the implementation of successful disease prevention and health promotion strategies. Aim: The aim of the present study was to discern how Fine Arts’ college students of the Anatomy class mentally represent the inner morphology of the human body of the Young Person and of an Elderly Person. Method: For such, 126 students were asked to draw the interior of the body of a Young Person and of an Elderly Person. In all, 252 drawings were collected and analysed, based on a coding data grid designed for this purpose. Hence, a comparative analysis of these two different vital lifecycle phases was achieved. Results: The results suggest anatomical differences in the pictorial representation of the Young Person and of the Elderly Person, namely in the accentuation of the curvatures of the vertebral column, retrusion of the lower jaw and muscle flaccidity. Conclusions: Although the body schema was the same for all individuals, the body image was singularly depicted and linked to each individual’s history, representing a synthesis of his idiosyncratic perceptions, experiences and particularities.

自抗菌类涂料在鞋材中应用以来,引起了制造商和消费者的极大兴趣。研究利用壳聚糖固有的抗菌活性和成膜性制备皮革抗菌材料。考虑到皮革鞣制的特殊性,采用不同的涂饰技术,如转鼓浸渍、辊涂和喷涂。结果表明,采用转鼓浸渍的方法效果最佳。进一步研究了转鼓浸渍涂饰方法中壳聚糖的用量、增溶酸剂的类型和浸渍时间,对抗菌剂抗菌能力的影响。由于壳聚糖价格昂贵(成本原因)以及对最终试验结果(采用SEM考察了抗菌能力和成膜效果)的分析,得出最佳方案:壳聚糖用量为1%(w/v),溶剂为甲酸,转鼓浸渍时间为2h。

Effects of the seasonal variation in the phytochemical composition and bioactivities of the wild halophyte Suaeda fruticosa

Suaeda fruticosa is an edible medicinal species belonging to the Amaranthaceae (Chenopodiaceae) family widely distributed in the Mediterranean regions, especially in Tunisia. This species shoots change their colour from green to red-violet along the different seasons, being an interesting matrix to study for its chemical composition. Therefore, in a ground-breaking study, the hydromethanolic extracts of green and red-violet Tunisian S. fruticosa shoots were profiled for their individual phenolic compounds and betalains by High Performance Liquid Chromatography coupled with a Diode-Array Detector and Mass Spectrometry by Electrospray Ionization (HPLC-daD/ESI-MS), and the in vitro antioxidant, antibacterial, and hepatotoxic properties were also assessed. The obtained results revealed that the hydromethanolic extracts contain interesting levels of phenolic compounds especially o-glycosylated and acylated flavonoids, while betacyanins were the main betalain compounds found. As expected, red-violet shoots were richer in phenolic compounds (45.5 ± 0.2 mg/g extract) and betalains (33.3 ± 0.2 mg/g extract) than greener shoots. Flavonoid/betalains rich extracts presented lower EC50 values for ABTS+, DPPH, and TBARS;as also lower MIC values against Gram-positive bacteria. This study showed that the wild halophyte growing in a hard environment, were drought and salinity are dominant, is an important source of flavonoids and betanin, important molecules that can find application in different industries, given the constant demands for natural bioactives and colouring compounds. overall, these natural compounds may be valorised and further investigated to validate their potential as functional ingredients.

Ginger infusion increases diet-induced thermogenesis in healthy individuals:A randomized crossover trial

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the acute effect of ingesting ginger infusion on energy metabolism,appetite responses,and food intake in healthy *** is a clinical(RBR-9ZJGQM),randomized,open,and crossover study with a minimum interval of seven days between *** drinks,ginger infusion(2 g)and water(control)were served with a standard *** has 21 volunteers of both sexes(18–40 years old,18.5–26 kg/m2).Consumption of ginger tea increased on average 95.5±27.4 kcal/day the non-nitrogen energy expenditure after 240 min of ingestion(p=0.002).There was a significant effect of ginger on diet-induced thermogenesis(difference between ginger tea treatment ***:113.0±43.0 kcal/day,p=0.016).However,appetitive responses and prospective food intake did not differ between ginger tea and water intake.
