To the Editor,As of 31 M arch 2020,m ore than 100000 cases of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)have been confirm ed in Italy.1 Progressive mitigation measures have been introduced by the Italian governm ent since 9 M arch 2020 to underm ine and break the virus transmission chain.However,the COVID-19-associated hospitalisation rate in Lombardy,the epicentre of the outbreak,has risen since the late days o f February 2020,by 30%each day,and it is only very recently that it slowed down to 5%daily,which still translates to 500 new patients every day who are in absolute need of hospital care.

Community batteries (CBs) are emerging to support and even enable energy communities and generally help consumers, especially space-constrained ones, to access potential techno-economic benefits from storage and support local grid decarbonization. However, the economic viability of CB projects is often uncertain. In this regard, typical feasibility studies assess CB value for behind-the-meter (BTM) operation or whole-sale market participation, i.e., front-of-meter (FOM). This work proposes a novel techno-economic operational framework that allows systematic assessment of the different options and introduces a two-meter architecture that co-optimizes both BTM and FOM benefits. A real CB project application in Australia is used to demonstrate the significant two-meter co-optimization opportunities that could enhance the business case of CB and energy communities by multi-service provision and value stacking.

Gastric cancer(GC)is a complex disease linked to a series of environmental factors and unhealthy lifestyle habits,and especially to genetic alterations.GC represents the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide.Its onset is subtle,and the majority of patients are diagnosed once the cancer is already advanced.In recent years,there have been innovations in the management of advanced GC including the introduction of new classifications based on its molecular characteristics.Thanks to new technologies such as next-generation sequencing and microarray,the Cancer Genome Atlas and Asian Cancer Research Group classifications have also paved the way for precision medicine in GC,making it possible to integrate diagnostic and therapeutic methods.Among the objectives of the subdivision of GC into subtypes is to select patients in whom molecular targeted drugs can achieve the best results;many lines of research have been initiated to this end.After phase III clinical trials,trastuzumab,anti-Erb-B2 receptor tyrosine kinase 2(commonly known as ERBB2)and ramucirumab,anti-vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2(commonly known as VEGFR2)monoclonal antibodies,were approved and introduced into first-and second-line therapies for patients with advanced/metastatic GC.However,the heterogeneity of this neoplasia makes the practical application of such approaches difficult.Unfortunately,scientific progress has not been matched by progress in clinical practice in terms of significant improvements in prognosis.Survival continues to be low in contrast to the reduction in deaths from many common cancers such as colorectal,lung,breast,and prostate cancers.Although several target molecules have been identified on which targeted drugs can act and novel products have been introduced into experimental therapeutic protocols,the overall approach to treating advanced stage GC has not substantially changed.Currently,surgical resection with adjuvant or neoadjuvant radiotherapy and chemotherapy are the most effective treatments for

Powered two-wheelers （PTWs） provide a suitable mode for a large portion of population in many cities due to rider＇s personal convenience and the vehicle supposed easiness of manoeuvring. At the same time PTWs present serious safety issues compared to other motorized vehicles. This paper reports the main outcome of study carried out in Rome, where this mode is very popular and assesses the economic efforts to make infrastructure safer for PTWs. The methodology, extensively described in the paper, includes three steps： the accident analysis, the development of economic indicators of accidents costs, the maintenance priority. In the first step the location of the PTWs local accidents are iden- tified, then the accidents are analyzed by means of the suitable indicators and, among these the safety potential （SAPO）. Lastly, according to the results of the analyzed indicators the need of infrastructure maintenance will be defined. Usually SAPO is applied to rural areas, but here it has been adapted to describe the phenomena of the urban area in hand. As a result, the estimation of the saving potential to improve the infrastructure safety levels, thus reducing the amount of accidents, is presented, along with recommendations on how to upscale the SAPO at city level.

Objectives:The paper evaluates the benefit and risk for human health associated with consumption of sea cucumber Holothuria poli(H.polil from Italian coasts(Central Mediterranean Sea).Materials and Methods:Body wall(BW),internal tunic(ITu),muscle bands(MBs),alimentary canal(AC),gonad(Gd),and respiratory tree(RT)of H.polii were analyzed for proximate composition.Moreover,amino acids(AAs),fatty acids(FAs)and polycyclic aromatic hydrocar bons(PAHs)were determined with high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy(UPLC UV/Vis),gas chromatography-flame ionization detector(GC-FID)and gas chromatography mass spectrometry(GC-MS),respectively.Results:Differences in the contents of total amino acids(TAAs)occurred based on tissue and sex,with AC and MB of female and Gd of male showing higher contents(range 47.8-60.2 g/kg we weight(ww)).Glycine and glutamic acid were the most abundant.Polyunsaturated fatty acid(PUFA)was the major class of FAs and arachidonic acid and eicosapentenoic acid(EPA)were the predominant PUFA.n-3 PUFA showed higher content in Gd,AC,and RT,indicating higher quality.A favorable n-3/n-6 in the range of 1.04-1.67 was observed.PAHs showed values ranging from 23 to 207μg/kg ww with the highest levels in Gd and AC tissues and the lower in BW.Benzo[alpyrene,the most toxic compound,was detected in all tissues,of both sexes,at levels of 1.5-18μg/kg ww.Conclusion:All tissues of H.poli,although with differences among them,are valuable food and can contribute for a healthy diet.Excess cancer risk(CR)values for Gd and AC tissues were above the considerable CR threshold of one in 10000 established by the United States Environmental Protection Agency(USEPA)for high ingestion rate of this seafood.

Background:Heavy metal cadmium(Cd)is a widespread environmental contaminant with a potential toxicity that might negatively affect female reproduction and fertility.It has been reported that Cd exposure impaired the quality of oocytes and led to a defective maturation and fertilization,through oxidative stress induction.Resveratrol(Res)is a natural polyphenol with strong antioxidant properties that exhibited protective role in preventing oocyte redox homeostasis disruption and quality decline.Here,we explored whether the addition of Res to in vitro maturation(IVM)medium might act as a protection against Cd-induced toxicity on ovine oocyte maturation and fertilization.Firstly,we evaluated the effect of supplementing IVM medium with two different Res concentrations(1and 2μmol/L)on nuclear maturation and fertilization of oocytes matured under CdCl2(2μmol/L)exposure.Therefore,the concentration of 1μmol/L Res was selected to analyse the effects of this compound on intracellular ROS levels,mitochondrial(mt)distribution and activity,chromatin configuration,cytoskeleton morphology,cortical granules(CGs)distribution and mRNA expression of genes associated with cellular response to oxidative stress(i.e.SIRT1,SOD 1,GPX1,GSR,CAT)in Cd-exposed in vitro matured oocytes.Results:We found that 1μmol/L Res restored the reduced oocyte meiotic competence induced by Cd exposure as well as,Res sustained oocyte ability to be normally fertilized and decreased polyspermic fertilization at both tested concentrations.Moreover,we demonstrated that 1μmol/L Res mitigated Cd-induced alterations of oocyte cytoplasmic maturation by reducing reactive oxygen species(ROS)accumulation,preventing mt dysfunction,maintaining the correct meiotic spindle and cortical F-actin assembly and the normal cortical granule distribution as well as up-regulating SIRT1,SOD1 and GPX1 genes.Conclusions:Taken together,our findings highlighted the beneficial influence exerted by Res in preventing Cdinduced disturbance of nuclear and cytoplasmic maturation and subsequen

Arabidopsis abcbl abcb19 double mutants defective in the auxin transporters ABCB1/PGP1 and ABCB19/PGP19 are altered in stamen elongation, anther dehiscence and pollen maturation. To assess the contribution of these transporters to stamen development we performed phenotypic, histological analyses, and in situ hybridizations on abcbl and abcbl9 single mutant flowers. We found that pollen maturation and anther dehiscence are precocious in the abcbl but not in the abcb19 mutant. Accordingly, endothecium ligniflcation is altered only in abcbl anthers. Both abcbl and abcb1 abcb19 stamens also show altered early development, with asynchronous anther Iocules and a multilayer tapetum. DAPI staining showed that the timing of meiosis is asynchronous in abcbl abcb19 anther Iocules, while only a small percentage of pollen grains are non- viable according to Alexander＇s staining. In agreement, TAM （TARDY ASYNCHRONOUS MEIOSIS）, as well as BAM2 （BARELY ANY MERISTEM）involved in tapetal cell development--areoverexpressed in abcbl abcb19 young flower buds. Corre- spondingly, ABCB1 and ABCB19 mRNA localization supports the observed phenotypes of abcbl and abcbl abcb19 mutant anthers. In conclusion, we provide evidence that auxin transport plays a significant role both in early and late stamen development： ABCB1 plays a major role during anther development, while ABCB19 has a synergistic role.

Doege-Potter syndrome by malignant solitary fibrous tumor of the liver: A case report and review of literature

BACKGROUND Solitary fibrous tumor of the liver (SFTL) is a rare occurrence with a low number of cases reported in literature. SFTL is usually benign but, 10%-20% cases are reported to be malignant with a tendency to metastasize. The majority of malignant SFTL cases are associated with a paraneoplastic hypoglycaemia defined as Doege-Potter syndrome. Surgery is the best therapeutic treatment, however, long- life follow-up is recommended. CASE SUMMARY A 74-year-old man, was admitted to the emergency department after a syncopal episode with detection of hypoglycaemia resistant to medical treatment. The computed tomography revealed a solid mass measuring 15 cm of the left liver. An open left hepatectomy was performed with complete resection of tumor. Histopathological analyses confirmed a malignant SFTL. CONCLUSION Large series with long-term follow-up have not been published neither have clinical trials been undertaken. Consequently, the methodical long-term followup of surgically treated SFTLs is strongly recommended.

Human bocavirus(HBoV) is a parvovirus isolated about a decade ago and found worldwide in both respiratory samples, mainly from early life and children of 6-24 mo of age with acute respiratory infection, and in stool samples, from patients with gastroenteritis. Since then, other viruses related to the first HBoV isolate(HBoV 1), namely HBoV 2, HBoV 3 and HBoV 4, have been detected principally in human faeces. HBo Vs are small nonenveloped single-stranded DNA viruses of about 5300 nucleotides, consisting of three open reading frames encoding the first two the non-structural protein 1(NS1) and nuclear phosphoprotein(NP1) and the third the viral capsid proteins 1 and 2(VP1 and VP2). HBoV pathogenicity remains to be fully clarified mainly due to the lack of animal models for the difficulties in replicating the virus in in vitro cell cultures, and the fact that HBo V infection is frequently accompanied by at least another viral and/or bacterial respiratory and/or gastroenteric pathogen infection. Current diagnostic methods to support HBoV detection include polymerase chain reaction, real-time PCR, enzymelinked immunosorbent assay and enzyme immunoassay using recombinant VP2 or virus-like particle capsid proteins, although sequence-independent amplification techniques combined with next-generation sequencing platforms promise rapid and simultaneous detection of the pathogens in the future. This review presents the current knowledge on HBoV genotypes with emphasis on taxonomy, phylogenetic relationship and genomic analysis, biology, epidemiology, pathogenesis and diagnostic methods. The emerging discussion on HBoV s as true pathogen or innocent bystander is also emphasized.
