Context： Anesthetic tubes are always on the surgical table, for this reason, it＇s necessary to perform its disinfection, generally by chemicals. Aim： Was to analyze the effectiveness of tubes decontamination made by disinfectant substances used in a clinical setting and to identify the microorganisms found on their surface. Materials and Methods： 14 anesthetic tubes were collected from dental clinic, on 5 groups. 01 plastic and 01 glass tubes that were not submitted to any disinfection process composed the control group and they had been sown in Agar Blood. Experimental groups underwent immersion and fixation with the proposed chemicals for 1 minute, laminar flow hood was used to seed it in Agar Blood and then it was transferred to incubator for 24 hours at 37℃. Tests were used to identify the main Gram positive pathogenic genera. Gram-negative pathogenic colonies isolated were seeded in biochemical means of identification. Results： It was possible to identify the presence of Staphylococcus coagulase negative, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus viridans, Staphylococcus saprophyticus, Escherichia coli and Acinetobacter spp, as well as the effectiveness of chemical solutions proposed in this study. Conclusions： all chemical solutions proposed in this study were effective for the surface disinfection process of anesthetic tubes.

Ultramafic Zoned Complexes of the Urals and Siberia: New Geochemical Evidence of Magmatic Origin

Ultramafic(dunite-clinopyroxenite) complexes with platinum mineralization are common in different tectonic settings. Among them are zoned complexes of the Ural-alaskan type, zoned complexes of platforms(Konder massif, Siberia), as well as layered intrusion complexes(Gulin massif, Siberia). In determining the genesis of these formations, an important role belongs to the study of melt inclusions and rock-forming minerals, including clinopyroxene. Clinopyroxenes of the ultramafic complexes exhibit a general trend of evolution, expressed as a decrease in magnesium content(Mg# = 0.95 to 0.7) and an increase in the contents of titanium and aluminum oxide(0–4.5% and 0.5–7.0%, respectively) in the dunite-clinopyroxenite series. In the coordinates of Ti-al(IV) the clinopyroxenes of the Ural-alaskan complexes of the Platinum belt form a linear trend of compositions with a slight increase(0–0.03 f.u.) in the titanium contents. In comparison with them the clinopyroxenes of the zoned platform complexes(Konder massif) demonstrate a shift in the trend of compositions, due to an increase in the titanium content to the moderate(0.05 f.u.) values. For the layered intrusions(Gulin pluton), it is typical another trend of clinopyroxene compositions with significantly higher titanium contents(0.04–0.12 f.u.) at the similar level of aluminum. Clinopyroxene compositions of zoned complexes of the Platinum belt are "controlled" by the area of boninites and tholeites of island arcs, and the zoned complexes of platforms by the areas of island arc tholeites and sub-alkaline intraplate basalts. Clinopyroxenes of the layered intrusions are located in the field of compositions of alkaline intraplate or MORB basalts. The safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.), in particular, has been soaring in significance as an alternative for oil and biodiesel production. In this context, the goal of this study was to assess the influence exerted by phosphate fertilization on the phytometric and productive characteristics of the safflower raised on the Oxisol of the cerrado. The experiment was performed in a greenhouse, using pots of 3 dm-3?in volume. Adopting the completely randomized design, five doses of phosphorus (P2O5: 0, 90, 180, 360 and 540 mg·dm-3) and six replicates were included. The following variables were estimated, viz., number of leaves, plant height, and stem diameter, besides chlorophyll index (SPAD index), number of chapters and shoot dry matter. Barring the shoot dry matter and number of chapters, all the other variables were evaluated on days 30 and 45 after the plants were transplanted. Data were submitted to analysis of variance at 1%, 5% and 10% probabilities, and regression analysis, at 1% and 5% probabilities, respectively. all the variables revealed significant differences and adjustments to the linear regression model (P cepting the SPAD index on day 30 after the plant emergence which was adjusted to the quadratic regression model. The highest findings of 24.47 for leaf number, 34.97 cm for plant height, 3.76 mm for stem diameter, 64.76 for chlorophyll index, 5 units for the number of chapters and 3.45 g for dry shoot mass were recorded in response to the highest phosphorus dose in the experimental range (P2O5: 540 mg·dm-3). Phosphate fertilization was observed to affect the phytometric characteristics and boost the development of the safflower plants cultivated in the cerrado Oxisol, substantiating that safflower could be a viable cash crop that can be established in the Brazilian cerrado.

What is the rationale for immunotherapies in Parkinsonian syndromes (PS)? PS are neurodegenerative diseases which are clinically characterized by a hypokinetic phenotype in combination with additional motor and non-motor symptoms. One major pathological hallmark of all PS consists of a non-physiological detrimental accumulation of protein aggregates which appear intracellularly in neurons and glial.cells but also in the extracellular space (Wong and Krainc, 2017). Depending on the pathogenic protein, PS can be divided into synucleinopathies, characterized by aggregation of the protein alpha-Synuclein (aSyn), and tauopathies, characterized by aggregation of the protein Tau (Levin et al., 2016;Poewe et al., 2017). Clinical syndromes of synucleinopathies include Parkinson’s disease (PD), multiple system atrophy (MSA) and dementia with Lewy bodies, and tauopathies include progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) and corticobasal degeneration.

This work addresses the alloying of titanium aluminides used in aircraft engine applications and automobiles. The oxidation resistance behavior of two titanium aluminides of α2 ＋ γ （Ti3al ＋ Tial） and orthorhombic Ti2Nbal, recognized as candidates for high-temperature applications, was investigated by exposure of the alloys for 100 h in air. Thus, oxidation resistance was expressed as the mass gain rate, whereas surface aspects were analyzed using scanning electron microscopy in conjunction with energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, and the type of oxidation products was analyzed by X-ray diffraction and Raman spectroscopy. The orthorhombic Ti2Nbal alloy was embrittled, and pores and microcracks were formed as a result of oxygen diffusion through the external oxide layer formed during thermal oxidation for 100 h.
