Removal of carbofuran is not affected by co-application of chlorpyrifos in a coconut fiber/compost based biomixture after aging or pre-exposure

Biomixtures constitute the biologically active part of biopurification systems（BPs）, which are used to treat pesticide-containing wastewater. The aim of this work was to determine whether co-application of chlorpyrifos（CLP） affects the removal of carbofuran（CFN）（both insecticide/nematicides） in a coconut fiber–compost–soil biomixture（FCs biomixture）, after aging or previous exposure to CFN. Removal of CFN and two of its transformation products（3-hydroxycarbofuran and 3-ketocarbofuran） was enhanced in pre-exposed biomixtures in comparison to aged biomixtures. The co-application of CLP did not affect CFN removal, which suggests that CLP does not inhibit microbial populations in charge of CFN *** to the removal behavior, mineralization of radiolabeled14C-pesticides showed higher mineralization rates of CFN in aged biomixtures（with respect to freshly prepared or pre-exposed biomixtures）. In the case of CLP, mineralization was favored in freshly prepared biomixtures, which could be ascribed to high sorption during aging and microbial inhibition by CFN in pre-exposure. Regardless of removal and mineralization results, toxicological assays revealed a steep decrease in the acute toxicity of the matrix on the microcrustacean Daphnia magna（over 97%） after 8 days of treatment of individual pesticides or the mixture CFN/*** suggest that FCs biomixtures are suitable to be used in BPs for the treatment of wastewater in fields where both pesticides are employed.

Advances in image quality in recent decades have made it necessary to develop new technologies for producing displays to meet remarkably stricter standards. The display market is governed mainly by liquid crystal display and light-emitting diode （LED） technology; however, it suffers from limitations that can be overcome by developing the next generation of electroluminescent displays. The introduction of colloidal quantum dots （QDs） as down-converters has enabled the production of displays with extremely high color purity and gamut. Therefore, colloidal nanocrystals are excellent candidates for the preparation of electroluminescent devices, which represent a straightforward approach to the development of unprecedented high-quality displays. We synthesized light-emitting QDs covering the entire visible spectrum with high fluorescence quantum yields and color purity, and produced high-brightness single-color LEDs with external quantum efficiencies of 0.39%, 1.04%, 2.10%, and 1.30% for red-, orange-, green-, and blue-emitting dots, respectively. Additional136 white LEDs were prepared by mixing QDs; they showed color temperatures of 5,300 K and color rendering indices exceeding 80%. Very importantly, we exhaustively characterized the LED performance, including the response time, stability, and evolution of the light characteristics, thus providing crucial information toward the development of high-quality electroluminescent displays.

We present a theoretical study on the effects of intense laser field(ILF)and static electric field on the linear and nonlinear optical properties of a cylindrical quantum dot with Rosen-Morse axial potential under the framework of effective mass and parabolic band *** study also takes into account the effects of the structure parameters(η,V1,and R).The analytical expressions of the linear,third-order nonlinear and total optical absorption coefficients(TOACs)and the relative refractive index changes(RRICs)are obtained by using the compact-densitymatrix *** results of numerical calculations show that the resonant peak position of the TOACs and RRICs shifts towards lower energies and the magnitude of the peak increases with the effect of the static electric field and *** addition,it is observed that while the resonant energies of the TOACs and RRICs of system shift towards the higher(lower)energies with the enhancement ofη,V1,they decrease with the augmentation of ***,the findings of this study show that the optical properties of the structure can be adjusted by changing the magnitude of structure parameters and applied external fields.

Despite two decades of major advances in the field of thermochronological modeling,state-of-the-art numerical implementations still rely mostly on burial and exhumation processes to explain radiometric *** though such an approach has proved valuable,failing to account for other first-order geological variables has led to misinterpretations and therefore,calls for a *** this study a new version of the Fetkin(finite element temperature kinematics,Ecopetrol)program is *** new algorithm couples time-dependent hydrological and thermal calculations,thus rendering thermochronological ages that,instead of being solely dependent on the kinematical evolution of a system,conditioning by the fluid flow is also *** contrast with previous thermochronological models,this work considers the influence of effective stress on rock properties(porosity and permeability)and therefore,in thermal *** analyses addressing relevant geological questions show not only the versatility of the code but also,new perspectives on forward low-temperature thermochronological *** circulation through pure-sandstone settings produce colder thermal architectures than those obtained in impermeable *** in cooling ages from models with and without fluid circulation are up to 5 Myr.A 4-fold variation in thrusting rates(0.5 km/Myr to 2 km/Myr)produces a 15-Myr difference in cooling ages in models with fluid flow,which contrasts to much lower differences,only 2 Myr,in domains without(or minimal)fluid circulation.2D thermal solutions in fold-bend-fold thrust belts composed of sandstones remain static despite substantial relief development by kinematic folding.A case-study from Western Argentina,in the Andean Precordillera,confirms the plausibility of the numerical algorithm here posed and raises new questions on the first-order thermal controls in settings under deformation.

In safety-critical systems such as transportation aircraft, redundancy of actuators is introduced to improve fault tolerance. How to make the best use of remaining actuators to allow the system to continue achieving a desired operation in the presence of some actuators failures is the main subject of this paper. Considering that many dynamical systems, including flight dynamics of a transportation aircraft, can be expressed as an input affine nonlinear system, a new state repre- sentation is adopted here where the output dynamics are related with virtual inputs associated with the intended operation. This representation, as well as the distribution matrix associated with the effectiveness of the remaining operational actuators, allows us to define different levels of fault tol- erant governability with respect to actuators＇ failures. Then, a two-stage control approach is devel- oped, leading frst to the inversion of the output dynamics to get nominal values for the virtual inputs and then to the solution of a linear quadratic （LQ） problem to compute the solicitation of each operational actuator. The proposed approach is applied to the control of a transportation air- craft which performs a stabilized roll maneuver while a partial failure appears. Two fault scenarios are considered and the resulting performance of the proposed approach is displayed and discussed.

This study aimed review studies conducted on Mexican patients diagnosed with gastric cancer and/or diseases associated with its development,in which at least one Mexican institute has participated,and to assess their contributions to the primary and secondary prevention of this disease.A search of the Medline database was conducted using the following keywords:gastric/stomach cancer,*** of the Mexican population were selected in which at least one Mexican Institute had participated and where the findings could support public policy proposals directed towards the primary or secondary prevention of gastric *** the148 studies found in the Medline database,100 were discarded and 48 were *** to the analysis presented,these studies were classified as:epidemiology of gastric cancer(5/48);risk factors and protectors relating to gastric cancer(9/48);relationship between Helicobacter pylori and pathologies associated with gastric cancer and the development of the disease(16/48);relationship between the Epstein-Barr virus and pathologies associated with gastric cancer and the development of the disease(3/48);molecular markers for the development of diseases associated with gastric cancer and gastric cancer(15/48).Mexico requires a program for the prevention and control of gastric cancer based on national health *** should be produced by a multidisciplinary committee of experts who can propose actions that are relevant in the current national *** few studies of gastric cancer conducted on the Mexican population in national institutes highlight the poor connection that currently exists between the scientific community and the health sector in terms of resolving this health *** policies for health research should support projects with findings that can be translated into benefits for the *** review serves to identify national research groups studying gastric cancer in the Mexican population.
