Background: New erythropoiesis-stimulating agents (ESAs) with a longer half-life have been developed for the treatment of anemia as a complication of patients with end-stage renal disease. Objectives: The objective of the present study was to assess the hemoglobin (Hb) stability of a Japanese cohort of hemodialysis (HD) patients who were simultaneously switched from darbepoetin alfa (DA) to epoetin beta pegol (CERA). Methods: This was an observational, prospective study of HD patients 20 years of age or more who were switched from intravenous (IV) DA to IV CERA and continued on HD for at least 3 months. The dose was adjusted to maintain the Hb level to within 1.0 g/dl of the baseline value. Results: A total of 68 HD patients (75.0% male, median age 63.0 years) were enrolled. The patients’ mean Hb levels were 10.8 ± (0.6) g/dl at Month 0, 10.9 ± 0.7 at Month 1, 10.8 ± 0.7 at Month 2, and 10.9 ± 0.8 at Month 3, and the differences from the level at Month 0 were not significant. After the switch, the ESA dose decreased significantly (P P < 0.0001). Conclusion: Switching from DA to CERA was associated with approximate 89% reduction of the required dose in Japanese HD patients being treated with an ESA and showed a favorable impact on the treatment of renal anemia, including the need for less frequent injections and a reduction of the ESA dose.

The large eddy simulation (LES) using the steady laminar flamelet model is applied to a simple turbulent jet flame with 33.2% H2,22.1% CH4 and 44.7% N2 at the Reynolds number of 15,200 in order to validate the numerical methods and to investigate the flame *** the validation,the detailed experimental data of DLR-A flame is *** numerical results are in reasonable agreement with experimental results except mass fractions of minor *** the flow field,the break-down of the potential core,the vortex structure and the mixing intensity are well *** the combustion field,mass fractions of major species (H2O,CO2,CO) are well predicted *** species are well predicted *** the present study,the simulations conducted on the Cartesian and cylindrical grids with approximately 6.6× 10 5 nodes are compared.

The main estrogens:estradiol,estrone,and their acyl-esters have been studied essentially related to their classical estrogenic and pharmacologic ***,their main effect in the body is probably the sustained control of core energy *** nuclear and membrane receptors show an extraordinary flexibility in the modulation of metabolic responses,and largely explain gender and age differences in energy metabolism:part of these mechanisms is already sufficiently known to justify *** regard to energy,the estrogen molecular species act essentially through four key functions:(1)Facilitation of insulin secretion and control of glucose availability;(2)Modulation of energy partition,favoring the use of lipid as the main energy substrate when more available than carbohydrates;(3)Functional protection through antioxidant mechanisms;and(4)Central effects(largely through neural modulation)on whole body energy *** the different actions of estrone,estradiol and their acyl esters,a tentative classification based on structure/effects has been *** separately or as a group,estrogens provide a comprehensive explanation that not all their quite diverse actions are related solely to specific *** a group,they constitute a powerful synergic action *** consequence,estrogens may be considered wardens of energy homeostasis.

During the production of pharmaceutical tablets using powder compaction, certain common problems can occur, such as sticking, tearing, cutting, and lamination. In the past, the compressibility of the powder was calculated only along the axis of the device; consequently, critical areas of the material throughout the volume could not be identified. Therefore, finite element method （FEM） can be used to predict these defects in conjunction with the use of an appropriate constitutive model. This article summarizes the current research in the field of powder compaction, describes the Drucker-Prager Cap model calibration procedure and its implementation in FEM, and also examines the mechanical behavior of powder during compaction. In addition, the mechanical behavior of pharmaceutical powders in relation to changes in friction at the wall of the system is examined, and the dependence of lubrication effect on the geometry of the compaction space is also investigated. The influence of friction on the compaction process for the flat-face, fiat-face radius edge, and standard convex tablets is examined while highlighting how the effects of friction change depending on the shape of these tablets.

Advanced hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)has a poor prognosis with limited treatment *** the last decade,sorafenib,a multi-tyrosine kinase inhibitor(TKI),has been the only available systemic agent for first-line treatment of unresectable HCC(1).Recently,another multi-TKI,lenvatinib,was added to the list of first-line treatment alternatives based on the results of the phase III RREFLECT *** second-line treatment,two multi-TKIs,regorafenib and cabozantinib,were approved in 2016 and 2018,*** other targeted therapies,ramucirumab and an anti-PD-1 antibody,nivolumab,will soon be added in a second-line setting to the therapeutic *** agents,however,generally lead to disease stabilization rather than tumor *** of complete remission with available systemic treatments still remains rare,however,and therapeutic breakthroughs are still needed.

The NAD（P）H dehydrogenase （NDH） complex in chloroplast thylakoid membranes functions in cyclic electron transfer, and in chlororespiration. NDH is composed of at least 15 subunits, including both chloroplast- and nuclear-encoded proteins. During the past few years, extensive proteomic and genetic research on the higher plant NDH complex has been carried out, resulting in identification of several novel nuclear-encoded subunits. In addition, a number of auxiliary proteins, which mainly regulate the expression of chloroplast-encoded ndh genes as well as the assembly and stabilization of the NDH complex, have been discovered and characterized. In the absence of detailed crystallographic data, the structure of the NDH complex has remained obscure, and therefore the role of several NDH-associated nuclear-encoded proteins either as auxiliary proteins or structural subunits remains uncertain. In this review, we summarize the current knowledge on the subunit composition and assembly process of the chloroplast NDH complex. In addition, a novel oligomeric structure of NDH, the PSI/NDH supercomplex, is discussed.

In this work,high quality uniform and dense nanostructured cobalt-doped zinc oxide(ZnO:Co)films were used as electron-transport layers in CH3NH3Pbl3-based planar heterojunction perovskite solar cells(PSCs)on a flexible conductive *** photo catalytically active ZnO:Co films were prepared by a low cost hydrothermal process using the aqueous solution of zinc nitrate hexahydrate,hexamethylenete-tramine and cobalt(II)nitrate ***:Co films were deposited on indium tin oxide(ITO)covered polyethylene terephthalate(PET)flexible *** growth was controlled by maintaining the autoclave temperature at 150℃for 4 *** CH3NH3Pbl3 layer was deposited on the ZnO:Co films by spin ***-OMeTAD was employed as a hole-transporting *** structural,morphology and optical properties of the grown ZnO nanostructures were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD),field-emission scanning electron microcopy(FESEM),energy-dispersive X-ray spectrometry(EDX),ultraviolet-visible(UV-Vis)and photoelectrochemical *** spectra showed that both ZnO and ZnO:Co nanorods had a hexagonal wurtzite structure with a strong preferred orientation along the(002)*** surface morphology of films was studied by FESEM and showed that both the pure and Co-doped ZnO films had hexagonal shaped *** the steady state,the ZnO electrode gave a photocurrent density of about 1.5 mA/***,the Co-doped ZnO electrode showed a photocurrent density of about 6 mA/cm^2,which is 4-fold higher than that of the ZnO *** on the above synthesized Co-doped ZnO films,the photovoltaic performance of PSCs was *** Co-doped ZnO layers had a significant impact on the photovoltaic conversion efficiency(PCE)of the *** latter was attributed to an efficient charge separation and transport due to the better coverage of perovskite on the nanostructured Co-doped ZnO *** a result,the measured PCE under standard solar conditions(A M 1.5G,100 mW/cm^2)r

Faecal incontinence(FI)is a debilitating common end result of several diseases affecting the quality of life and leading to patient disability,morbidity,and increased societal *** the various causes of FI,it is important to assess and identify the underlying *** investigatory tools are available including high-resolution anorectal manometry,transrectal ultrasound,magnetic resonance imaging,and *** review article provides an overview on the causes and pathophysiology of FI and the author’s perspective of the stepwise investigation of patients with FI based on the available ***,high-resolution anorectal manometry should be the first investigatory tool for FI,followed by either transrectal ultrasound or magnetic resonance imaging for anal internal sphincter and external anal sphincter injury,respectively.

The aim of this essay is to analyze the first story by Zhang Xiaofeng, Taiwan writer, playwright, known in the mainland of China mainly as an excellent essayist. The Wailing Wall （Kuqiang） was written in 1968 in the atmosphere of the Six Days War in Israel, the atrocities during the first years of the Cultural Revolution in the mainland of China, and war in Vietnam, Wailing Wall is a poetic symbol of sadness and suffering mostly of the innocent people. For the author of the story it is reminiscent of the biblical Psalm 137 depicting the moods of the Hebrews in the Babylonian Captivity after 586 B.C. and the situation of her compatriots who were forced to leave their old homes in the Mainland before Oct. 1, 1949. Zhang Xiaofeng is a Christian author regarding love as the cornerstone of inter-human relations. She believes in love of God for all human beings and in the universal love. The short story consisting of one woman and her relations with two brothers between October 1949 and June 1967, against the background what happened in the world around them, and in their vicinity, brought her an unpleasant cognition： The true love is hardly possible where the human beings should live between, or behind the walls, where hate is prevailing.

The novel coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)is a pandemic disease that is currently affecting over 200 countries around the world and impacting billions of *** first step to mitigate and control its spread is to identify and isolate the infected ***,because of the lack of reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-CPR)tests,it is important to discover suspected COVID-19 cases as early as possible,such as by scan analysis and chest X-ray by ***,chest X-ray analysis is relatively time-consuming since it requires more than 15 minutes per *** this paper,an automated novel detection model of COVID-19 cases is proposed to perform real-time detection of COVID-19 *** proposed model consists of three main stages:image segmentation using Harris Hawks optimizer,synthetic image augmentation using an enhanced Wasserstein And Auxiliary Classifier Generative Adversarial Network,and image classification using Conventional Neural *** chest X-ray images datasets are used to train and test the proposed *** demonstrate that the proposed model is very efficient in the automatic detection of COVID-19 positive *** achieved 99.4%accuracy,99.15%precision,99.35%recall,99.25%F-measure,and 98.5%specificity.
