Leveraging Robust Artificial Intelligence for Mechatronic Product Development—A Literature Review

Mechatronic product development is a complex and multidisciplinary field that encompasses various domains, including, among others, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, control theory and software engineering. The integration of artificial intelligence technologies is revolutionizing this domain, offering opportunities to enhance design processes, optimize performance, and leverage vast amounts of knowledge. However, human expertise remains essential in contextualizing information, considering trade-offs, and ensuring ethical and societal implications are taken into account. This paper therefore explores the existing literature regarding the application of artificial intelligence as a comprehensive database, decision support system, and modeling tool in mechatronic product development. It analyzes the benefits of artificial intelligence in enabling domain linking, replacing human expert knowledge, improving prediction quality, and enhancing intelligent control systems. For this purpose, a consideration of the V-cycle takes place, a standard in mechatronic product development. Along this, an initial assessment of the AI potential is shown and important categories of AI support are formed. This is followed by an examination of the literature with regard to these aspects. As a result, the integration of artificial intelligence in mechatronic product development opens new possibilities and transforms the way innovative mechatronic systems are conceived, designed, and deployed. However, the approaches are only taking place selectively, and a holistic view of the development processes and the potential for robust and context-sensitive artificial intelligence along them is still needed.

The Current Status of Physical Therapy in China

The current health system in China has evolved by embracing both traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine. China is the only country in the world where the number of doctors is larger than the number of nurses but education programmes for other health professions like physical therapy have been slow to develop. In the case of physical therapy it was not until China won the bid for the Olympic Games that permission to establish the first physical therapy programme was granted. Since then China has undergone a period of rapid economic growth enabling many people to have a higher standard of living and improved health, but at the same time the country is faced with massive urbanization, industrialization, increasing environmental health threats, increased health disparities and an aging population. With the support of the Chinese Association of Rehabilitation Medicine, an increased investment by the Government in public health and rehabilitation and engagement of international education experts, entry-level education programmes for physical therapy have started to develop and there are now nine which are modeled, at least to some extent, on the World Confederation for Physical Therapy's international guidelines. The paper explores the development of physical therapy education in China and discusses possible options for the way forward so that as the demand for physical therapy to service 1.4 billion people grows, the profession is prepared and the standards expected of the entrylevel physical therapist will not be compromised.

Pancreatic cancer(Pa Ca) has the highest death rate and incidence is increasing. Poor prognosis is due to late diagnosis and early metastatic spread, which is ascribed to a minor population of so called cancer stem cells(CSC) within the mass of the primary tumor. CSC are defined by biological features, which they share with adult stem cells like longevity, rare cell division, the capacity for self renewal, differentiation, drug resistance and the requirement for a niche. CSC can also be identified by sets of markers, which for pancreatic CSC(Pa-CSC) include CD44v6, c-Met, Tspan8, alpha6beta4, CXCR4, CD133, Ep CAM and claudin7. The functional relevance of CSC markers is still disputed. We hypothesize that Pa-CSC markers play a decisive role in tumor progression. This is fostered by the location in glycolipid-enriched membrane domains, which function as signaling platform and support connectivity of the individual Pa-CSC markers. Outsidein signaling supports apoptosis resistance, stem cell gene expression and tumor suppressor gene repression as well as mi RNA transcription and silencing. Pa-CSC markers also contribute to motility and invasiveness. By ligand binding host cells are triggered towards creating a milieu supporting Pa-CSC maintenance. Furthermore, CSC markers contribute to the generation, loading and delivery of exosomes, whereby CSC gain the capacity for a cell-cell contact independent crosstalk with the host and neighboring non-CSC. This allows PaCSC exosomes(TEX) to reprogram neighboring nonCSC towards epithelial mesenchymal transition and to stimulate host cells towards preparing a niche for metastasizing tumor cells. Finally, TEX communicate with the matrix to support tumor cell motility, invasion and homing. We will discuss the possibility that CSC markers are the initial trigger for these processes and what is the special contribution of CSC-TEX.

While it is well appreciated that loss of the p53 tumor suppressor protein promotes cancer,growing evidence indicates that increased p53 activity underlies the developmental defects in a wide range of genetic *** inherited or de novo mutations that cause these syndromes affect diverse cellular processes,such as ribosome biogenesis,DNA repair,and centriole duplication,and analysis of human patient samples and mouse models demonstrates that disrupting these cellular processes can activate the p53 ***,many of the developmental defects in mouse models of these syndromes can be rescued by loss of p53,indicating that inappropriate p53 activation directly contributes to their pathogenesis.A role for p53 in driving developmental defects is further supported by the observation that mouse strains with broad p53 hyperactivation,due to mutations affecting p53 pathway components,display a host of tissue-specific developmental defects,including hematopoietic,neuronal,craniofacial,cardiovascular,and pigmentation ***,germline activating mutations in TP53 were recently identified in two human patients exhibiting bone marrow failure and other developmental *** in mice suggest that p53 drives developmental defects by inducing apoptosis,restraining proliferation,or modulating other developmental programs in a cell type-dependent ***,we review the growing body of evidence from mouse models that implicates p53 as a driver of tissue-specific developmental defects in diverse genetic syndromes.

An intriguing question in behavioral biology is whether consistent individual differences （calledanimal personalities） relate to variation in cognitive performance because commonly measuredpersonality traits may be associated with risk-reward trade-offs. Social insects, whose learningabilities have been extensively characterized, show consistent behavioral variability, both at colonyand at individual level. We investigated the possible link between personality traits and learningperformance in the carpenter ant Camponotus aethiops. Exploratory activity, sociability, and ag-gression were assessed twice in ant foragers. Behaviors differed among individuals, they werepartly repeatable across time and exploratory activity correlated positively with *** abilities were quantified by differential conditioning of the maxilla-labium extension re-sponse, a task that requires cue perception and information storage. We found that exploratory ac-tivity of individual ants significantly predicted learning performance：＂active-explorers＂ wereslower in learning the task than ＂inactive-explorers＂. The results suggest for the first time a link be-tween a personality trait and cognitive performance in eusocial insects, and that the underlying in-dividual variability could affect colony performance and success.

In 2021, the city of Kunming in Yunnan Province, China,will host the fifteenth meeting of Conference of Parties of the Convention on Biological Diversity. The meeting is expected to be the pivotal moment at which the world’s governments agree on a new ‘Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework’(https://***/conferences/post2020). The framework is anticipated to be structured around a small number of outcome goals for 2050—a compelling case has been made that these should include explicit goals for ecosystems, species,genetic diversity and the contributions which nature makes to people [1].
