Impact of a colorectal cancer screening program implantation on delays and prognosis of non-screening detected colorectal cancer

BACKGROUND The implementation of a colorectal cancer(CRC)screening programme may increase the awareness of Primary Care Physicians,reduce the diagnostic delay in CRC detected outside the scope of the screening programme and thus improve *** To determine the effect of implementation of a CRC screening programme on diagnostic delays and prognosis of CRC detected outside the scope of a screening *** We performed a retrospective intervention study with a pre-post *** identified 322 patients with incident and confirmed CRC in the pre-implantation cohort(June 2014–May 2015)and 285 in the post-implantation cohort(June 2017-May 2018)in the Cancer Registry detected outside the scope of a CRC screening *** each patient we calculated the different healthcare diagnostics delays:global,primary and secondary healthcare,referral and colonoscopyrelated *** addition,we collected the initial healthcare that evaluated the patient,the home location(urban/rural),and the CRC stage at *** determined the two-year survival and we performed a multivariate proportional hazard regression analysis to determine the variables associated with *** We did not detect any differences in the patient or CRC baseline-related variables.A total of 20.1%of patients was detected with metastatic *** was a significant increase in direct referral to colonoscopy from primary healthcare(25.5%,35.8%;P=0.04)in the post-implantation *** delay was reduced by 24 d(106.64±148.84 days,82.84±109.31 d;P=0.02)due to the reduction in secondary healthcare delay(46.01±111.65 d;29.20±60.83 d;P=0.02).However,we did not find any differences in CRC stage at diagnosis or in two-year survival(70.3%;P=0.9).Variables independently associated with twoyear risk of death were age(Hazard Ratio-HR:1.06,95%CI:1.04-1.07),CRC stage(II HR:2.17,95%CI:1.07-4.40;III HR:3.07,95%CI:1.56-6.08;IV HR:19.22,95%CI:9.86-37.44;unknown HR:9.24,95%CI:4.27-19.99),init

Circadian Rhythm of Root＇s Apical Meristem Mitosis Cells of Soybean

The circadian rhythms of apical meristem mitosis cells of the two types of soybean were investigated： wild soybeans - Glycine max （L.） Merr. （G. hispida Max.）, G. soja Sieb., and Zucc （G, ussuriensis Reg. and Maack）; and the hybrids of their homozygous forms （F6）. Representatives of the initial kinds and interspecific hybrids for reproduction were grown up in comparable conditions. Seeds of a soybean were grown up at 24℃ in Petri cups in thermostat in darkness during winter. For research of mitotic meristem cages activity the tips of roots were fixed temporal by acetoalcohol （fractional fixing） from 1 p.m. till 12 a.m., further up to 12 p.m. each 60 minutes. Acetokarmin was used for preparing the coloring. For researching of mitotic indexes, there have been analyzed from 6 up to 10 thousand cells at each stage （during each moment of time： 01 hour, 02, 03 06 ... 12, 13 ... 18 hours and further）. Within a day （day ＋ night） in cells of root apical meristem, three mitosis ＂waves＂ in each of the investigated forms with an absolute starting point of rest at 12 p.m., with precisely expressed further periodicity were found out. Each of the investigated forms misses in character of wave processes, on a degree of increase and recession of mitosis waves, on the level of mitotic indexes. Maximal mitotic activity at all the investigated forms is noted at 6 and 12 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis function during perinatal depression

Abnormal function of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal （HPA） axis is an important pathological finding in pregnant women exhibiting major depressive disorder. They show high levels of cortisol pro- inflammatory cytokines, hypothalamic-pituitary peptide hormones and catecholamines, along with low dehydroepiandrosterone levels in plasma. During pregnancy, the TH2 balance together with the immune system and placental factors play crucial roles in the development of the fetal allograft to full term. These factors, when altered, may generate a persistent dysfunction of the HPA axis that may lead to an overt transfer of cortisol and toxicity to the fetus at the expense of reduced activity of placental 1113-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 2. Epigenetic modifications also may contribute to the dysregulation of the HPA axis. Affective disorders in pregnant women should be taken seriously, and therapies focused on preventing the deleterious effects of stressors should be implemented to promote the welfare of both mother and baby.

Ever since the invention of laser pulses,^(1–5)one of the key directions for the development of laser technology has been the creation of ever shorter pulses of *** the past sixty years,improvements in technology have pushed pulse durations down from nanoseconds through picoseconds to femtoseconds,giving us access to time-resolved studies of molecular nuclear motion and chemical reactions.^(6)Just in time for the 59th birthday of the standard(SI)prefixes“femto”and“atto,”^(7)the 2023 Nobel Prize in Physics was awarded to the latest landmark in this effort:the generation of attosecond pulses of light,^(8–10)which opens a window to the most fundamental timescale of the world around us–the timescale of electrons moving inside atoms,molecules,and condensed matter.

Optimal Filtering Correction forMarine Dynamical Positioning Control System

This paper focuses on the problem of control law optimization for marine vessels working in a dynamical positioning （DP） regime. The approach proposed here is based on the use of a special unified multipurpose control law structure constructed on the basis of nonlinear asymptotic observers, that allows the decoupling of a synthesis into simpler particular optimization problems. The primary reason for the observers is to restore deficient information concerning the unmeasured velocities of the vessel. Using a number of separate items in addition to the observers, it is possible to achieve desirable dynamical features of the closed loop connection. The most important feature is the so-called dynamical corrector, and this paper is therefore devoted to solving its optimal synthesis in marine vessels controlled by DP systems under the action of sea wave disturbances. The problem involves the need for minimal intensity of the control action determined by high frequency sea wave components. A specialized approach for designing the dynamical corrector is proposed and the applicability and effectiveness of the approach are illustrated using a practical example of underwater DP system synthesis.

Independent and Combined Effect of Some Soil Tillage Systems on Nitrogen and Carbon Concentration in Soil Structural Units of Haplic Chernozems

This paper aimed at studying the effect of different types of soil tillage systems on the change of total carbon （C） and nitrogen （N） in the soil structural units of different size after dry structural analysis of soil. The research was carried out in a 6-field rotation system （grain maize-wheat-sunflower-wheat-bean-wheat） at the end of the 2nd rotation. Six out of 24 soil tillage systems were selected; they were applied independently and in combination in the crop rotation. After that, they were compared to the system with constant deep plowing. So a total of seven soil tillage systems were investigated. The selected systems for main soil tillage were the following： plowing （control variant）, disking, cutting, nil tillage （direct sowing）, plowing-disking, plowing-nil tillage, disking-nil tillage. Three depths of 0-10, 10-20 and 20-30 cm were studied, as well as soil structural units were of the following sizes：〉 10 mm, 10-5, 5-3, 3-1, 1-0.25 mm and 〈 0.25 mm. As a result of systematic implementation of different soil tillage systems, higher N and C concentrations were established by the layers according to constant plowing. Constant disking and its alternation with nil tillage increased the total N concentration with 15.6% and 11.1%, respectively, in comparison with the constant plowing. The same was valid for C concentration in soil, but the highest increase was established in the variants with constant cutting and nil tillage. The exceeding was with 14.0% and 13.2%, in comparison to constant plowing. The redistribution of N and C depending on the structural soil units was most expressed in the 0-10 cm and 10-20 cm layers. The highest amounts of C and N were found in the soil units with size less than 5 mm, mainly in the 〈 0.25 mm fraction. At depth of 20-30 cm, the role of the size of soil structural units for C and N redistribution decreased strongly. The values of C/N ratio were moderate only under the use of constant disking. The present work is devoted to the bending problems of prismatic shell with the thickness vanishing at infinity as an exponential function. The bending equation in the zero approximation of Vekua＇s hierarchical models is considered. The problem is reduced to the Dirichlet boundary value problem for elliptic type partial differential equations on half-plane. The solution of the problem under consideration is constructed in the integral form.

An Approach to Assertive and Non-assertive Epistemic Modality in Virginia Woolf＇s Essays

This study entails a first approach to epistemic modality in Woolf＇s essays. In particular, we will distinguish between assertive and non-assertive epistemic modality. Woolf uses assertive epistemic modality when transmitting her criticism to, sometimes, women＇s inferiority condition in history, revealing Woolf＇s more confident stance. These markers are different from those used in more ＂gentle＂ themes related to reviewing an author and her work. In this second case, non-assertive epistemic modality is more frequent. Being less harsh towards an author＇s surroundings and her literary production, Woolf＇s stance proves less self-assured. The corpus consists of 10 short essays. We also refer to her longer essays A Room of One＇s Own （1929） and Three Guineas 0938）. They were selected bearing in mind their subject-matter. Half of them deal with literature and women writers, their lives and works; the other half ones also have to do with women-related topics, but referring to their position in history and their difficulties to undertake, for example, a literary career. Some concluding remarks indicate the predominance of non-assertive epistemic modality in relation to an intersubjective reading of her texts. This reading favours the inclusion of her audience in her commentary about women writing.
