Neurological disorders are a diverse group of conditions that affect the nervous system and include neurodegenerative diseases(Alzheimer’s disease,multiple sclerosis,Parkinson’s disease,Huntington’s disease),cerebrovascular conditions(stroke),and neurodevelopmental disorders(autism spectrum disorder).Although they affect millions of individuals around the world,only a limited number of effective treatment options are available *** most neurological disorders express mitochondria-related metabolic perturbations,metformin,a biguanide type II antidiabetic drug,has attracted a lot of attention to be repurposed to treat neurological disorders by correcting their perturbed energy ***,controversial research emerges regarding the beneficial/detrimental effects of metformin on these neurological *** that most neurological disorders have complex etiology in their pathophysiology and are influenced by various risk factors such as aging,lifestyle,genetics,and environment,it is important to identify perturbed molecular functions that can be targeted by metformin in these neurological *** molecules can then be used as biomarkers to stratify subpopulations of patients who show distinct molecular/pathological properties and can respond to metformin treatment,ultimately developing targeted *** this review,we will discuss mitochondria-related metabolic perturbations and impaired molecular pathways in these neurological disorders and how these can be used as biomarkers to guide metformin-responsive treatment for the targeted therapy to treat neurological disorders.

Cluster Analysis of the Roma-BZCAT Blazars

Based on the collected multiwavelength data, namely in the radio(NVss, FIRsT, RATAN-600), IR(WIsE),optical(Pan-sTARRs), UV(GALEX), and X-ray(ROsAT, swift-XRT) ranges, we have performed a cluster analysis for the blazars of the Roma-BZCAT catalog. Using two machine learning methods, namely a combination of PCA with k-means clustering and Kohonen's self-organizing maps(sOMs), we have constructed an independent classification of the blazars(five classes) and compared the classes with the known Roma-BZCAT classification(FsRQs, BL Lacs, galaxy-dominated BL Lacs, and blazars of an uncertain type) as well as with the high synchrotron peaked(HsP) blazars from the 3HsP catalog and blazars from the TeVCat catalog. The obtained groups demonstrate concordance with the BL Lac/FsRQ classification along with a continuous character of the change in the properties. The group of HsP blazars stands out against the overall distribution. We examine the characteristics of the five groups and demonstrate distinctions in their spectral energy distribution shapes. The effectiveness of the clustering technique for objective analysis of multiparametric arrays of experimental data is demonstrated.

White Blood Cell(WBC)cancer or leukemia is one of the serious cancers that threaten the existence of human *** spite of its prevalence and serious consequences,it is mostly diagnosed through manual *** risks of inappropriate,sub-standard and wrong or biased diagnosis are high in manual ***,there is a need exists for automatic diagnosis and classification method that can replace the manual *** is mainly classified into acute and chronic *** current research work proposed a computer-based application to classify the *** the feature extraction stage,we use excellent physical properties to improve the diagnostic system’s accuracy,based on Enhanced Color Co-Occurrence *** study is aimed at identification and classification of chronic lymphocytic leukemia using microscopic images of WBCs based on Enhanced Virtual Neural Network(EVNN)*** proposed method achieved optimum accuracy in detection and classification of leukemia from WBC ***,the study results establish the superiority of the proposed method in automated diagnosis of *** values achieved by the proposed method in terms of sensitivity,specificity,accuracy,and error rate were 97.8%,89.9%,76.6%,and 2.2%,***,the system could predict the disease in prior through images,and the probabilities of disease detection are also highly optimistic.

shorebird populations are declining worldwide,mainly due to human disturbances and loss of coastal ***,supratidal habitats as saltpans could play a role in buffering human *** have shown to be important as feeding or breeding sites of some shorebird species.A potential conservation strategy to increase shorebird populations in saltpans is to manipulate the cues that birds use to select optimal breeding *** it is hypothesized that shorebirds are attracted to bivalve shells due to the advantages they *** this hypothesis,we supplemented a restored saltpan in 2019 and 2021 with bivalve shells,expecting an increase in the number of breeding birds’ *** than 75% of Kentish Plover(Charadrius alexandrinus) and Little Tern(sternula albifrons) nests were found in patches with shells in both *** best model for both species indicates that the presence of shells is the factor that most correlates with the location of *** probability of choosing one place over another to settle their nest increases in areas with an abundance of shells,double in the case of the Kentish Plover and triple in the case of the Little *** result of this study may constitute a valuable tool for attracting birds to restored saltpans and could contribute to the success of expensive restoration projects where time is usually a constraint.

The tremendous potential of triboelectric generators-TENGs for converting mechanical energy into electrical energy places them as one of the most promising energy harvesting technologies. In this work, the fabrication of enhanced performance TENGs using Ag octahedron nano-assemblies on ITO as electrodes significantly increases the electric charge collection of the induced tribocharges. Thereby, nanostructured electrical contacts coated with Ag macroscale nano-assemblies with octahedral features were obtained by the electrodeposition technique on flexible PET/ITO substrates. Consequently, the nanostructured triboelectric generator-TENG exhibited 65 times more maximum output power, and almost 10 times more open circuit output voltage than that of a TENG with non-nanostructured contacts passing from μW to m W capabilities, which was attributed to the increment of intrinsic interface states due to a higher effective contact area in the former. Likewise, output performances of TENGs also displayed an asymptotic behavior on the output voltage as the operating frequency of the mechanical oscillations increased, which is attributed to a decrement in the internal impedance of the device with frequency. Furthermore, it is shown that the resulting electrical output power can successfully drive low power consumption electronic devices. On that account, the present research establishes a promising platform which contributes in an original way to the development of the TENGs technology.

Anticorrosion behavior of conversion coatings obtained from unbuffered cerium salts solutions on AA6061-T6

The anticorrosive properties of cerium based conversion coatings deposited on AA6061-T6 alloy by immersion in tmbuffercd cerium chloride and cerium nitrate solutions in the presence of hydrogen peroxide were investigated and characterized by potentiodynamic po- larization （PDP） and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy （EIs） in 0.5 mol/L NaCl aqueous solution. The microstructure and chemical composition of the protective films were examined by scanning electron microscopy （sEM） and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy （EDs）. It was found that the best corrosion protection was afforded by the samples treated during 600 s in cerium chloride solution at pH values ~5.5-4, showing higher amounts of cerium and polarization resistance values greater than 10 f~ m2. Moreover, an ennoblement of the corro- sion potential and decreasing of the cathodic and anodic currents were obtained compared with the cerium nitrate solutions application. This behavior was attributed to the influence of the deposition parameters such as type of the salt anion, i.e., chelating effect and chaotropic characteristics, pH fluctuations in the conversion solution and deposition time.
