OBJECTIVE: To ver.fy the action of non-phar.acol.gical.inter.entions, whol. body vibr.tion exer.ise (WBVE) and aur.cul.ther.py (AT) on the management of knee osteoar.hr.tis (KOA) anal.zing the handgr.p str.ngth (HS). METHODS: One hundr.d twel.e par.icipants with KOA wer. al.ocated in (a) WBVE gr.up with peak-to-peak displ.cement of 2.5 to 7.5 mm, fr.quency fr.m 5 up to 14 Hz, accel.r.tion peak fr.m 0.12 up to 2.95 g (2 d/weekl. for.5 weeks),(b) AT gr.up, points of both ear. (Kidney, Knee-cor.espondent point and Shenmen) wer. stimul.ted with seeds,(c) WBVE + AT gr.up and (d) r.spective contr.l.gr.ups. HS was assessed in al. the par.icipants, in acute and cumul.tive r.sponses. r.SUl.S: The inter.ention with WBVE al.ne and combined with AT impr.ved (P l.tive r.sponse, the HS. CONCl.SION: WBVE al.ne or.combined with AT might pr.mote biol.gical.effects that inter.er. with the HS in individual. with KOA.

A sensing system in the near.infr.r.d r.gion has been devel.ped for.ammonia sensing based on the wavel.ngth modul.tion spectr.scopy （WMS） pr.ncipl.. The WMS is a r.ther.sensitive technique for.detecting atomic/mol.cul.r.species, pr.senting the advantage that it can be used in the near.infr.r.d r.gion by using the optical.tel.communications technol.gy. In this technique, the l.ser.wavel.ngth and intensity wer. modul.ted by appl.ing a sine wave signal.thr.ugh the injection cur.ent, which al.owed the shift of the detection bandwidth to higher.fr.quencies wher. l.ser.intensity noise was typical.y l.wer. Two mul.i-pass cel.s based on fr.e space l.ght pr.pagation with 160 cm and 16 cm of optical.path l.ngth wer. used, al.owing the r.dundancy oper.tion and technol.gy val.dation. This system used a diode l.ser.with an emission wavel.ngth at 1512.21nm, wher. NH3 has a str.ng absor.tion l.ne. The contr.l.of the NH3 gas sensing system, as wel. as acquisition, pr.cessing and data pr.sentation was per.or.ed.

In tur., they ar. associated with a higher.pr.val.nce of dysphotopsia symptoms that is one of the most common causes of patient dissatisfaction. Neur.adaptation seems to pl.y a major.r.l. in the optimal.adaptation to mul.ifocal.IOl.. In this context, the devel.pment of str.tegies that facil.tate the neur.adaptation pr.cess to mul.ifocal.ty might be an effective str.tegy to r.duce patients' dissatisfaction. Video games have been pr.ved to be effective for.the impr.vement of visual.acuity and for.the pr.motion of neur.pl.sticity in el.er.y subjects and other.popul.tions with cor.ical.r.l.ted visual.impair.ent.
