The middle Miocene Badenian evaporite basin of the Carpathian Foredeep Basin was a saline lake, separated by a barrier from the sea and supplied with seawater seeping through the barrier or overflowing it occasionally in the form of short-lived marine transgressions. Such transgressions could leave behind marine microfossils in marly clay intercalations. One of them(2.3 m thick) occurs in the uppermost part of the sulphate sequence, in the unit ‘o’, in the Babczyn 2 borehole section. It contains marine palynomorphs(dinoflagellate cysts) and foraminiferal assemblages indicating a marine environment. The low-diversity benthic foraminiferal assemblages are dominated by opportunistic, shallow infaunally living species, preferring muddy or clayey substrate for thriving, brackish to normal marine salinity, and inner shelf environment. Dinoflagellate cyst assemblages, although taxonomically impoverished, consist of marine species;euryhaline forms that tolerate increased salinity are missing. Relatively common microfossils found in clay intercalations within gypsum have important palaeogeographical implications:they strongly suggest that there existed an additional inflow channel supplying the Polish Carpathian Basin from the south during the evaporite deposition and afterwards.

Backgrounds： There are many satellite systems acquiring environmental data on the world. Acquired global remote sensing datasets require ground reference data in order to calibrate them and assess their quality. Regarding calibration and validation of these datasets with broad geographical extents, it is essential to register zones which might be considered as Homogeneous Patches （HPs）. Such patches enable an optimal calibration of satellite data/sensors, and what is more important is an analysis of components which significantly influence electro-magnetic signals registered by satellite sensors. Methods： We proposed two structurally different methods to identify HPs： predefined thresholding-based one （static one）, and statistical thresholding-based technique （dynamic one）. In the first method, 3 different thresholds were used： 5%, 10%, and 20%. Next, it was aimed to assess how delineated HPs were spatially matched to satellite data with coarse spatial resolution. Selected cell sizes were 25, 50, 100, 250, and 500 m. The number of particular grid cells which almost entirely fell into registered HPs was counted （leaving 2% cell area tolerance level）. This procedure was executed separately for each variant and selected structural variables, as well as for their intersection parts. Results： The results of this investigation revealed that ALS data might have the potential in the identification of HPs of forest stands. We showed that different ALS based variables and thresholds of HPs definition influenced areas which can be treated as similar and homogeneous. We proved that integration of more than one structural variable limits size of the HPs, in contrast, visual interpretation revealed that inside such patches vegetation structure is more constant. Conclusions： We concluded that ALS data can be used as a potential source of data to ＂enlarge＂ small ground sample plots and to be used for evaluation and calibration of remotely sensed datasets provided by global systems

The article presents a methodology to determine access routes to places with difficult access,situated outside the regular transport *** determine the optimum route,the existing road network was used,along with terrain passability maps,as well as high-resolution digital terrain models together with the traction parameters of the vehicle to enable conducting a detailed analysis of micro-relief and excluding inaccessible *** research was extended to include a comprehensive analysis of terrain accessibility for areas located in the vicinity of the capital cities of three European countries on various levels of economic development:Germany,Poland,and *** degree of development of the analysed area was determined with the use of the gross domestic product(GDP),human development index(HDI),and the road quality *** case study presented in the paper illustrates the practical application of the developed methodology that was implemented to a real crisis *** routes were determined for a MAN TGM 15.290 vehicle that went to take part in emergency action in buildings situated approximately 500 m away from paved *** developed methodology may be widely used in crisis management,where the emergency actions often require rescue units to access remote places.

The paper tackles the problem of robust fault detection using Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy models. A model-based strategy is employed to generate residuals in order to make a decision about the state of the process. Unfortunately, such a method is corrupted by model uncertainty due to the fact that in real applications there exists a model-reality mismatch. In order to ensure reliable fault detection the adaptive threshold technique is used to deal with the mentioned problem. The paper focuses also on fuzzy model design procedure. The bounded-error approach is applied to generating the rules for the model using available measurements. The proposed approach is applied to fault detection in the DC laboratory engine.

Industry 4.0 and the pandemic have caused recent changes in innovative development,economic situations,and restrictions in various companies and regions of the world,with new stricter legislation related to working conditions,hygiene standards,and health *** technologies are a challenge to the transformation of problem companies and regions,as they often significantly impact economic *** emissions,growing information on dementia among young people,cyber risks,and the risks of so-called advanced technologies(e.g.,bio-and nanotechnologies,Industry 4.0 tech)may raise societal concerns about technological *** study is part of our long-term research into technological innovation in different companies and *** primary goal is to methodically emphasize the importance and role of the systemic management of technological innovation in companies and regions and analytically compare the innovation success of differently developed regions from a global *** research deals with an important aspect of technology management,namely,the processes of technological identification and the protection of related intellectual property(IP).The primary research question is:How has technological development been distributed across different regions over the last two decades?We hypothesize that Asian countries are increasingly moving away from Europe and North America in terms of technological innovation,other forms of technological IP protection,and overall access to innovation,while the focus is on the development of three non-patent forms of technological innovation protection:industrial designs,trademarks,and utility *** results of our study reveal a significant difference in the approach to technological innovation management and the form of IP protection between so-called advanced and problem companies and *** study was conducted between 2018 and 2022.

In this study the catalytic properties of gold nanoparticles in electro-oxidation process of glucose, were investigated, taking into account, an influence of catalyst composition. Graphene oxide was applied and for electro-oxidation studies of glucose, cyclic voltamperometry was used. It was found that an application of graphene oxide sheets during catalyst synthesis have an influence on gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) size and size distribution. It was confirmed that the application of composite catalyst consisting of graphane-AuNPs significantly changes electro-oxidation of glucose shifting the potential of oxidation to higher positive values and increasing oxidation current.

We performed joint analysis of five cosmological models invoked to explain the accelerating expansion of the *** used the data from strong gravitational lensing systems,locations of cosmic microwave background acoustic peaks and baryon acoustic oscillation data in combination with supernova Ia data（Union2 compilation）.The observables we used came from both standard rulers and standard candles,so they had different parameter degeneracies and different restrictive powers in the parameter spaces of cosmological *** best fits we obtained for the model parameters in joint analysis turned out to prefer cases effectively equivalent to the ΛCDM *** were also in agreement with other combined studies performed by other authors on different sets of diagnostic *** theoretic methods used to assess which model is most supported by the data lead to the conclusion that the concordance model ΛCDM is clearly preferred in joint *** quintessence（both having constant or time varying equation of state） and Chaplygin gas get considerably less support from the data while the brane world（DGP） scenario is practically ruled out.

The estimation of the ground temperature profile with respect to the depth and time is the key issue in many engineering applications which use the ground as a source of thermal energy. In the present work, the influence of the model components on the calculated ground temperature distribution has been analysed in order to develop an accurate and robust model for the prediction of the ground temperature profile. The presented mathematical model takes into account all the key phenomena occurring in the soil and on its top surface. The impact of individual model elements on the temperature of the soil has been analysed. It has been found that the simplest models and the most complex model result in a similar temperature variation over the simulation period, but only at a low depth. A detailed analysis shows that a larger depth requires more complex models and the calculation with the use of simple models results in an incorrect temperature and a theoretical COP estimation.
