We determined whether the inclusion of 100 g/kg dry matter of grape pomace silage (GPs) and grape pomace bran (GPB) as substitutes for other traditional fiber sources in the diet of steers (Charolais x Nellore) would improv. carcass characteristics, meat quality and composition, and shelf life. Twenty-four animals (248 ± 19.32 kg of initial body weight) were fed a high concentrate diet for 121 days. Carcass characteristics were measured, and the longissimus dorsi muscle was analyzed for fatty acid (FA) profile and composition. The meat was sliced and stored in air-permeable packages for 10 days. On each sampling day (d 1, 3, 7, and 10), oxidativ. stability, bacterial load, lipid and protein oxidation, and staining were analyzed. The experimental diets influenced the pH of cold carcasses only. The GPs group had a higher pH than the control. The GPs and GPB groups showed improv.d oxidant status (i.e., lower lipid peroxidation and concentrations of reactiv. oxygen species were in the meat of both groups than in control). On the first day of storage, the antioxidant enzyme glutathione s-transferase activ.ty was more significant in the meat of the GPs and GPB groups than in the control. The bacterial loads in the meat were attenuated by GPs inclusion;there were lower total coliform counts and a trend toward lower counts for enterobacteria in the control group. The diets altered the FA profile of the meat;i.e., the GPB diet allowed for a more significant amount of the n-6 omegas in the meat, while the GPs diet showed a tendency for a more significant amount of n-6 and 9 omegas. Both diets (GPs and GPB) increased the amounts of long-chain FAs. The GPs diet decreased saturated FA lev.ls. We conclude that the dietary treatments GPs and GPB are a promising alternativ. to maintain meat quality standards throughout in real-world retail conditions. A corotation radius is a key characteristic of disk galaxies that is essential to determine the angular speed of the spiral structureΩ_p,and therefore understand its *** the literature,there are plenty of methods to estimate this v.lue,but do these measurements hav. any consistency?In this work,we collected a data set of corotation radius measurements for 547 galaxies,300 of which had at least two *** initial analysis rev.als that most objects hav. rather inconsistent corotation radius ***,a significant fraction of galactic disks is distinguished by a large error cov.rage and almost uniform distribution of *** findings do not hav. any relation to spiral type,Hubble classification,or presence of a *** other reasons,obtained results could be explained by the transient nature of spirals in a considerable part of *** hav. made our collected data sample publicly av.ilable,and hav. demonstrated on one example how it could be useful for future research by inv.stigating a winding time v.lue for a sample of galaxies with possible multiple spiral arm patterns.

In this study,a calcium-phosphate coating was formed on a Mg-Mn-Ce alloy by the plasma electrolytic oxidation(PEO).The antibiotic v.ncomycin,widely used in the treatment of infections caused by staphylococcus aureus(***),was impregnated into the *** with v.ncomycin showed high bactericidal activ.ty against *** mechanical and electrochemical properties of the formed coatings were studied,as well as in v.tro cytotoxicity tests and in v.v. tests on mature male rats were *** to sEM,EDs,XRD and XPs data,coatings had a dev.loped morphology and contained hydroxyapatite,which indicates high *** analysis of roughness of coatings without and with v.ncomycin did not rev.al any differences,confirming the high roughness of the *** electrochemical tests,an increase in corrosion resistance by more than two times after the application of PEO coatings was *** to the results of an in v.v. study,after 28 days of the implantation of samples with calcium phosphate PEO coating and v.ncomycin,no signs of inflammation were observ.d,while an inflammatory reaction dev.loped in the area of implantation of bare alloy,followed by *** release tests from the coatings show a sharp decrease in the concentration of the released antibiotic on day 7 and then a gradual decrease until day *** the experiment,no significant dev.ations in the condition and behav.or of the animals were observ.d;clinical tests did not rev.al a systemic toxic reaction.

The present study inv.stigates the physical and chemical characteristics,behav.or in v.tro and in v.v.,and biocompatibility of coatings containing Ta_(2)O_(5),which are obtained by plasma electrolytic oxidation(PEO)on MA8 magnesium *** obtained coatings demonstrate in v.v. biocompatibility and in v.tro *** to the base PEO coating,the layers containing Ta_(2)O_(5)facilitate the dev.lopment of apatite in simulated body fluid,suggesting that the inclusion of nanoparticles improv.s bioactiv.ty of the *** was found that incorporation of Ta_(2)O_(5)nanoparticles increases roughness and porosity of the formed layers by increasing particle concentration in electrolytes for the PEO process contributing to sufficient soft tissue ingrowth in *** on in v.v. studies,these coatings also prov.de fav.rable tissue response and minimal inflammatory reaction in comparison with the bare magnesium alloy due to protection of liv.ng tissues from deleterious corrosion ev.nts of magnesium implant such as local alkalization and intense hydrogen *** results obtained in the present study concluded biocompatibility,tissue integration of the PEO coatings containing Ta_(2)O_(5)nanoparticles making them a promising protectiv. layer for biodegradable magnesium implants.

KLnF_(4):Yb^(3+),Er^(3+)/Ho^(3+)(Ln=Y,Yb,Gd)phosphors were prepared by solid-state reaction *** each of the Yb^(3+)/Er^(3+)and Yb^(3+)/Ho^(3+)co-doped phosphors independently,phase confirmation and morphological examination were accomplished using the X-ray diffraction technique and scanning electron microscope analysis.X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analysis shows the charge state and existence of lanthanides and *** luminescence emissions of green and red colour were detected for the synthesized *** changes in the upconv.rted emission intensities and colour output pertaining to the change of the lanthanide host matrix along with dopants were inv.stigated for the prepared *** the upconv.rsion luminescence,erbium-doped samples exhibit a predominance of red emission while holmium-doped samples display a prev.lence of green *** rare-earth Er/Ho doped KYbF4shows strong red emission compared to other ***_(4):Yb,Er/Ho exhibits relativ.ly significant green upconv. rsion emissions,while Yb,Er-doped KGdF_(4)host displays a 10-fold increase in green/red emission ratio with an increase in the input power of 20-780 *** photoluminescence studies and decay curv. analysis were carried out using Uv.light excitation for the dev.loped phosphors.A higher lifetime of 2.2 ms was measured for the downshifting red emission in the Ho doped KYbF_(4)*** study suggests a potential for colour tunability in the upconv.rsion and downshifting emissions through host modifications to the fluoride phosphor.
