Radio-Histopathological Aspects of Breast Nodules in a Sub-Saharan African City (Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso)

Objective: To determine the diagnostic contribution of breast microbiopsy percutaneously under ultrasound guidance. Methodology: Retrospective descriptive study conducted from January 2014 to October 2017. The included patients had an ultrasound-guided breast microbiopsy after a mammographic and ultrasound scan. The variables collected were gender, age, nodule size, ACR classification and anatomopathologic diagnosis. Results: 347 nodules were explored in 313 patients. There were 300 women (95.85%) and 13 men (4.15%), a gender ratio of 23.07. The average age was 44.64 ± 14.18 years. The average size of the nodules was 30.33 ± 19.58 mm. There were 53.89% ACR4 grade nodules, 48% ACR5 nodules and 32.28% ACR3 nodules. 86.49% of ACR3 nodules were benign and 97.92% of ACR5 nodules were actually malignant. Malignant tumors accounted for 50.29% of the nodules and were dominated by invasive breast carcinomas in 98.26%. The average age of patients with malignant tumors was 49.15 ± 11.55 years. 16% of patients with malignancy were aged under 40 years old. Conclusion: The diagnostic yield was satisfactory and there was a good correlation between the rate of malignant and benign lesions and the positive predictive values of malignancy in the literature.

Vermicompost as an Alternative to Inorganic Fertilizer to Improve Okra Productivity in Côte d’Ivoire

Okra is one of the most popular vegetables in Côte d’Ivoire which is produced by heavy use of inorganic fertilizers. Vermicompost can be an alternative to inorganic fertilizers. This field study investigated the effect of vermicompost on growth and productivity of okra as compared to inorganic fertilizers. The respective treatments were arranged in a complete randomized block design, each at three replications, during three-season cycles on a ferralitic soil. Results showed that the highest rate of germination was obtained with the vermicompost. The tallest plants of Abelmoschus esculentus (1.88 m) and Abelmoschus caillei (1.78 m) were observed with inorganic fertilizer. The number of leaves per plant registered when using vermicompost was 34.5 and 30.74 with Abelmoschus esculentus and Abelmoschus cailli, respectively. With inorganic fertilizer, the number of leaves per plant was 34.21 (Abelmoschus esculentus) and 32.32 (Abelmoschus cailli). Plants took about 60 days to flower in the control plots and about 46 days in the plots fertilized with the vermicompost and the inorganic fertilizer. Contribution of Medical Imaging in the Diagnosis of Urinary Disorders in Children at the Charles de Gaulle University Hospital in Ouagadougou

Purpose: The purpose of our study, which focused on the contribution of medical imaging in the diagnosis of urinary tract diseases in children at the Charles de Gaulle University Hospital of Ouagadougou, was to study the role of medical imaging in the diagnosis of urinary tract diseases in patients aged 15 years or less at the CHUP-CDG. Patients and Methods: This was a descriptive cross-sectional study with the retrospective collection covering the period from January 1, 2009 to December 31, 2018, i.e., 10 years. We collected a total of 833 medical imaging examinations, performed in 735 patients. The mean age of the patients was 40 months, infants accounted for 37.69% of the cases. Male patients were more numerous with a sex ratio of 1.53. Results: Ultrasonography was performed in 652 patients or 78.27%, ASP RX in 128 patients or 10.88%. URC and UIV were used in 6.53% and 0.68% of patients, respectively. CT and MRI were not performed in our study. The most frequent clinical urinary signs were dysuria (58.13%) and hematuria (43.94%). Ultrasonography was the most requested examination (78.27%), followed by conventional radiography (15.37%). Urinary lithiasis was by far the most common urinary condition (46.86%), followed by urinary tract infections (32.19%) and malformative uropathies (14.93%), of which the posterior urethral valve was the most frequent. Imaging was also used to find other conditions associated with urinary tract diseases. Conclusion: Medical imaging plays a major role in the diagnosis and management of urinary tract diseases in children. It has limitations, that is why a formal meeting between clinicians and radiologists is necessary for a better choice of imaging techniques and efficient management of these conditions.

在海洋采油平台、海水淡化设施、海港码头、污水处理构筑物等海洋与工业结构中,钢筋混凝土面临的微生物腐蚀问题日益严重,其中硫酸盐还原菌（SRB）的腐蚀问题最为显著,使钢筋混凝土结构服役寿命缩短,导致严重的经济损失,钢筋混凝土结构的微生物腐蚀防护成为当前亟待解决的问题。目前,控制微生物腐蚀通常采用化学杀菌剂的方法,然而由于效果不理想且不符合环保要求,化学杀菌剂将越来越受到限制。因此,发展高效、环保的新型微生物腐蚀控制措施势在必行。有机硅季铵盐（OSA）是一类广谱环保抗菌剂,能与大部分表面分子结合形成一个具有抗菌活性的表面,且能够提供持续的抗菌作用抑制微生物的生长,预期可用于抑制SRB对混凝土中钢筋的腐蚀。综上,本文针对SRB对钢筋混凝土结构的腐蚀破坏问题,研究了中性pH值（9.35）的模拟混凝土孔隙溶液中SRB对钢筋的腐蚀行为及机制,并采用OSA抑菌剂来减缓其腐蚀,阐明了其抑制作用和机理。为了揭示SRB对钢筋的腐蚀作用及抑菌剂的缓蚀效果,实验在四种不同的溶液中开展:无SRB的模拟混凝土孔隙溶液（STR）、无SRB含OSA的模拟混凝土孔隙溶液（STR+OSA）、含SRB的模拟混凝土孔隙溶液（STR+SRB）、以及含SRB和OSA的模拟混凝土孔隙溶液（STR+SRB+OSA）。研究结果表明,在STR+SRB溶液中,SRB的最高数量达到4.0×107 cells/ml,添加OSA之后,SRB的最高数量减少到1.5×104 cells/ml,表明OSA对SRB的生长繁殖具有显著的抑制作用。并且,不同溶液中,钢筋的腐蚀模式和速率存在显著差异。在STR溶液中发生均匀腐蚀,在STR+OSA溶液中则发生轻微的局部腐蚀,在STR+SRB和STR+SRB+OSA溶液中发生局部点蚀。由于OSA的抑制作用,最大坑深由STR+SRB溶液中的36.70±6.95μm降至STR+SRB+OSA溶液中的3.31±0.89μm。XRD和XPS分析证实,在STR和STR+OSA溶液中存在三价铁Fe（Ⅲ）氧化物,而在STR+SRB和STR+SRB+OSA溶液中检测到二价铁Fe（Ⅱ）氧化物和硫化亚铁（FeS）。在四种溶液中,动电位极化曲线的阳极曲线均呈现出活性溶解,且电荷转移过程为速率控制步骤,阴极过程也主要由电荷转移步骤控制。失重和电化学阻抗谱（EIS）结果表明,腐蚀速率呈现出STR＜STR+OSA＜STR+SRB+OSA＜STR+SRB的顺序,这也证明了SRB的存在可以加速钢筋在弱碱性混凝土中的腐蚀,而OSA作为一种有效的抑菌剂,可以减少钢筋表面SRB的生长,从而减缓SRB对钢筋的腐蚀。

Preliminary Study on Renal Ultrasound Biometry in Apparently Healthy 18 to 30-Year-Old Subjects with Normal Renal Function in Ouagadougou

Introduction: In our practice, renal measurements in patients with normal renal function usually appear to be lower compared to standards reported in reference literature. The standards are probably different in our context. Given the importance of renal biometrics in nephrological practice, we felt it necessary to carry out this preliminary study in order to identify an order of reference measurements appropriate to our context. Methods: This was a cross-sectional study that took place from 18 August to 04 November 2018 at the Yalgado Ouedrarogo University Hospital Center. The first 100 subjects aged between 18 and 30 years who met the following inclusion criteria were selected: to be black african Burkinabe and to have normal renal function. The height, width and thickness of each kidney were measured using ultra-sound scanners. For statistical tests, a value of p Results: The average age was 23.9 ± 6.1 years and the sex ratio was 2.2. Mean heights, widths and renal thicknesses were 94.5 ± 14.5, 38.7 ± 10.7 and 36.3 ± 10.3 mm, and 96.7 ± 16.7, 42.7 ± 16.7 and 36.8 ± 10.8 mm respectively for right and left kidneys. The distribution of the different renal dimensions in our sample followed a normal distribution. In the particular case of the right kidney, the probability that its height was between 79.2 and 109.7 mm was 0.95 and the probability that it was less than 79.2 mm or greater than 109.7 mm was 0.05. Renal height was significantly higher in subjects with height greater than 1.70 m (p ≤ 0.02). The left kidneys were on average significantly larger than the right kidneys (p = 0.0001). Conclusions: Our study is not extrapolable to the general population of Burkina Faso. This study analyses the production line system in Champion Breweries Plc in order to minimize production losses due to production downtime that hinders the system *** response to today’s highly competitive business environment this has prompted businesses to analyse and improve their existing production systems for sustainability *** major problems identified in this study which hampered the productivity include:high efficiency losses,low throughput,low overall equipment effectiveness(OEE)and low productivity ***,this study aims at developing a technical model for attaining optimal *** also,are findings from *** analysis of the line was performed using the OEE model,and as a result the disturbances that constitute production losses were studied,major efficiency losses were identified,and their root causes were *** showed that the OEE in existing production line of Champion Lager Beer was 61.5%;which is below the company’s *** OEE model for the existing production line was validated using theoretical validation *** resulting validation model showed an improved OEE score with the validated OEE for Champion Lager Beer being 63.1%.Therefore,the achieved results in the validation model can easily be adapted after similar studies in order to achieve the company’s target and also boost production capacity.

In this study,a comparative analysis of the production lines of Champion Breweries PLC and Nigerian Bottling Company was performed in order to determine ways of improving the productivity growth in Champion Breweries *** achieve this aim,a bottling line model was developed and validated;studies were also carried out to ascertain the bottling line technical practices that are presently being adopted in the brewery *** problems affecting the smooth operation of the bottling lines were unraveled and methods of solving them have been ***,the overall equipment effectiveness(OEE)model was developed and used in the analysis in addition to other performance measurement techniques,to measure the production losses and to identify areas of process *** showed that the OEE in the existing production lines of Champion Lager Beer and Nigerian Bottling Company(Coca-Cola)is 61.5% and 62.0% *** validation technique was used to validate these production lines and as a result,the validated model shows an improvement in the OEE *** validated OEE models are 63.1% and 63.0% *** adoption of the results in these validated models will definitely lead to improved productivity of both production lines.

综述了胺类作为溶剂化萃取剂及与中性给体试剂配合作为溶剂化协同萃取剂时,胺类的结构特性及萃取与分离过渡金属含氧酸的规律,工作发现胺类在中性和弱碱性条件下可作为溶剂化萃取剂,萃取中性分子.溶剂化能力主要决定于分子中与氮相连结的活性氢原子的多少.因此伯胺类溶剂化能力最强.伯胺还能与中性给体试剂配合进行溶剂化协同萃取.伯胺与中性膦(磷)类配合,能从碱性高钼水溶液中选择性萃镰.钼、铼分离系数达10~4级.胺类溶剂化萃取主要靠形成氢键作用.胺类溶剂化萃取的研究,发现了许多新的高效金属萃取分离过程.
