BACKGROUND Peroneal tendon disorders are common causes of lateral hindfoot ***,total rupture of the peroneal longus tendon is *** treatment for this condition is usually a side-to-side tenodesis of the peroneal longus tendon to the peroneal brevis *** the traditional procedure involves a long lateral curved incision,this approach is associated with damage to the lateral soft tissues(up to 24%incidence).CASE SUMMARY A 50-year-old female had developed pain at the lateral aspect of the hindfoot 1 mo after an ankle sprain while walking in the *** treatments were anti-inflammatory drugs,ice,rest and Cam-walker *** physical exam,there was pain and swelling over the course of the peroneal *** instability and cavovarus foot deformity were ruled *** strength was weak(4/5).Imaging showed complete rupture of the peroneal longus tendon associated with a sharp hypertrophic peroneal *** repair was indicated after failure of conservative treatment(physiotherapy,rest,analgesics,and ankle stabilizer).A less invasive approach was performed for peroneal longus tendon debridement and side-to-side tenodesis to the adjacent peroneal brevis tendon,with successful clinical and functional *** Peroneus longus tendon tenodesis can be performed through a less invasive approach with preservation of the lateral soft tissue integrity.

Reticulated foam shaped adsorbents are more efficient for the removal of volatile organic compounds（VOCs）,particularly from low VOC-concentration indoor air streams. In this study composite structure of zeolite and metal organic frameworks（MOFs）,referred as ZMF,has been fabricated by immobilization of fine MOF-199 powder on foam shaped Zeolite Socony Mobil-5（ZSM-5）Zeolitic structure,referred as ZF. The ZMF possess a uniform and well-dispersed coating of MOF-199 on the porous framework of ZF. It shows higher surface area,pore volume,and VOCs adsorption capacity,as compared to ***-fabrication changes in selective adsorption properties of ZMF were studied with three common indoor VOCs（benzene,n-hexane,and cyclohexane）,using gravimetric adsorption technique. The adsorption capacity of ZMF with different VOCs follow the order of benzene 〉 n-hexane 〉 cyclohexane. In comparison with MOF-199 and ZF,the composite structure ZMF shows improvement in selectivity for benzene from other two VOCs. Further,improvement in efficiency and stability of prepared ZMF was found to be associated with its high MOF loading capacity and unique morphological and structural properties. The developed composite structure with improved VOCs removal and recyclability could be a promising material for small to limited scale air pollution treatment units.

Propagation of light beams in turbid media such as underwater environments,fog,clouds,or biological tissues finds increasingly important applications in science and technology,including bio-imaging,underwater communication,and free-space communication *** many of these applications traditionally relied on conventional,linearly polarized Gaussian beams,light possesses many degrees of freedom that are still largely unexplored,such as spin angular momentum(SAM)and orbital angular momentum(OAM).Here,we present nonlinear light-matter interactions of such complex light beams with"rotational"degrees of freedom in engineered nonlinear colloidal *** making use of both variational and perturbative approach,we consider non-cylindrical optical vortices,elliptical optical vortices,and higher-order Bessel beams integrated in time(HOBBIT)to predict the dynamics and stability of the evolution of these *** results may find applications in many scenarios involving light transmission in strongly scattering environments.

The influence of different factors on the fiuidization of a binary mixture of sisal residue and sand was *** particle sizes of the sand and sisal residue were varied from 0.2to 0.8mm and the biomass mass fractions from 2% to 9%.Some segregation was noted,and a significant relationship was found among the final fluidization velocity (Uff),the biomass and sand sizes,and the biomass mass fraction.A novel model was developed for predicting Uff,leading to an average discrepancy of 12.69% between the measured and predicted Uff compared with the best match of 15.32% when using a model from a previous *** new model was applied to data from studies using other biomass and a broad range of particle *** average divergences from measured values when using the new model were 7.9% for corn cob and walnut shell,and 20.5% for sweet sorghum bagasse,tobacco residue, and soy *** were superior to the values derived using other *** results confirm the accuracy of the model developed in this work and show that it represents a viable alternative way to calculate Uff for a binary mixture of sand and biomass.

Comprehensive understanding of marine biodiversity is essential for conservation,especially for vulnerable *** this paper,we implemented and illustrated a checklist of molluscs from the Abrolhos Parcel,Brazil,the most important coralline area in South Atlantic *** list features 100 species belonging to 4 classes and 85 genera,of which 15 are new records for Bahia State,northeast *** results highlight the potential for new records in the *** species came from 54 unconsolidated sediment samples collected from the bottom of the reef with a 0.042-m^(2) van Veen *** the listed species,Curveulima sp.,Notarchus *** Guyanella clenchi are new records for the South Atlantic,while Caecum metamorphosicum,Eratoidea janeiroensis,Volvarina serrei,Solemya notialis,Solariorbis shimeri,and Amphithalamus glabrus are endemic to Brazilian waters.A comparison of our results with those obtained in other reef environments indicates that the Abrolhos Parcel has a rich malacofauna and suggests that many more species can still be found with more samplings.

Low-voltage(LV) distribution networks are unbalanced and present loads with nonlinear behavior, which introduce harmonics in the networks. The predictable increase in photovoltaic microgeneration(PV μG) accentuates this unbalanced characteristic, as well as poses new technical problems,namely voltage rise and reverse power flow. To accurately account for the distributed PV and loads in the LV network, unbalanced three-phase power flow algorithms should be utilized,where different approaches may be used to represent lines with various degrees of accuracy. The more accurate algorithm considers the electromagnetic coupling between the line conductors,whereas the simpler algorithm represents each conductor of the line as a single-phase line with pure resistive behavior. This paper aims to analyze the influence of the line model on the load flow in a highly unbalanced LV network with a high penetration of PV production, and considers the impact of the harmonics produced by nonlinear loads. Based on the results obtained,it is possible to identify the most suitable model to be used, depending on the study to be performed. Different scenarios of PV generation and loads are addressed in this paper.

The forming limit diagram（FLD） is an important tool to be used when characterizing the formability of metallic sheets used in metal forming processes. Experimental measurement and determination of the FLD is timeconsuming and therefore the analytical prediction based on theory of plasticity and instability criteria allows a direct and efficient methodology to obtain critical values at different loading paths, thus carrying significant practical ***, the accuracy of the plastic instability prediction is strongly dependent on the choice of the material constitutive model [1–3]. Particularly for materials with hexagonal close packed（HCP） crystallographic structure, they have a very limited number of active slip systems at room temperature and demonstrate a strong asymmetry between yielding in tension and compression [4, 5]. Not only the magnitude of the yield locus changes, but also the shape of the yield surface is evolving during the plastic deformation [4]. Conventional phenomenological constitutive models of plasticity fail to capture this unconventional mechanical behavior [4, 6]. Cazacu and Plunkett [6] have proposed generic yield criteria, by using the transformed principal stress, to account for the initial plastic anisotropy and strength differential（SD） effect simultaneously. In this contribution, a generic FLD MATLAB script was developed based on Marciniak–Kuczynski analytical theory and applied to predict the localized necking. The influence of asymmetrical effect on the FLD was evaluated. Several yield functions such as von Mises, Hill, Barlat89, and Cazacu06 were incorporated into analysis. The paper also presents and discusses the influence of different hardening laws on the formability of materials with HCP crystal structures. The findings indicate that the plastic instability theory coupled with Cazacu model can adequately predict the onset of localized necking for HCP materials under different strain paths.
