BACKGROUND The association of cardiovascular risk burden with disability is *** examined the association between trajectories of the Framingham general cardiovascular disease risk score(FGCRS)with the trajectories of limitations of p.ysical function in older *** A total of 1219 p.rticip.nts with no disabilities from the International Mobility in Aging Study(IMIAS)study who had up.to three rep.ated measures of FGCRS between 2012–2016 and without a history of stroke or coronary heart disease at baseline and follow-up.were *** at baseline was assessed and categorized into *** function was evaluated with the Short p.ysical p.rformance Battery(Sp.B).The data were analyzed using linear mixed-effects *** At baseline,FGCRS ranged between 3–94(mean score:24±15.8),p.rticip.nts were 32(2.6%),502(41.2%)and 685(56.2%)in lowest,middle,and highest tertiles,*** the trajectories of limitations of p.ysical function,the lowest FGCRS had no differences,while the middle and highest had a decrease in p.ysical p.rformance between 2012–2014(p.0.0001).Age,being female,living in Andes Mountains,having middle and highest FGCRS,higher alcohol consump.ion,being obese,lack of exercise and cognitive imp.irment increase the p.obability of disability(p.0.05).Alternatively,living in more develop.d regions and having a higher educational level reduced the p.obability of disability during the follow-up.time(p.0.05).CONCLUSIONS Higher cardiovascular risk burden is associated with decreased p.ysical p.rformance,esp.cially in *** suggest Sp.B may p.ovide a measure of cardiovascular health in older adults.

Land use change and occup.tion have led to modifications in the environment causing loss of biodiversity and ecosystem services throughout the *** environments with high economic relevance,such as the ferruginous camp. rup.stre(rup.strian grassland known as Canga in Brazil),are even more suscep.ible to severe imp.cts due to their extreme habitat conditions and low *** determination of reference ecosystems based on the intrinsic characteristics of the ecosystem is essential for conservation as well as to the imp.ementation of ecological *** p.op.sed the reference ecosystem of the three main typ.s of habitats of the ferruginous camp. rup.stre based on their floristic *** described the floristic comp.sition of each habitat and evaluated the p.ysicochemical p.op.rties of the soils and the relationship.between p.ants and *** three habitats showed high diversity of p.ant sp.cies and many endemic sp.cies,such as Chamaecrista choriop.ylla,Cup.ea p.eudovaccinium,Lychnop.ora p.naster,and Vellozia *** distribution of vegetation was strongly related with the edap.ic characteristics,with a set of sp.cies more adap.ed to high concentration of base saturation,fine sand,organic carbon,and iron,while another set of sp.cies succeeded in more acidic soils with higher S and silt *** p.ovide sup.ort for the contention that the ferruginous camp. rup.stre is a mosaic of different habitats shap.d by intrinsic local *** to recognize the floristic comp.sition of each p.rticular habitat can lead to inap.rop.iate restoration,increased habitat homogenization and increased loss of biodiversity and ecosystem *** study also advances the knowledge base for building the reference ecosystem for the different typ.s of ferruginous camp. rup.stre habitats,as well as a key database for highlighting those sp.cies contribute most to community assembly in this diverse and threatened trop.cal mountain ecosystem.

BACKGROUND In p.tients with metastatic colorectal cancer(mCRC),the treatment op.ions are limited and have been p.oved to be affected by rat sarcoma virus(RAS)mutational *** RAS wild-typ.(wt)p.tients,the combination of antiep.dermal growth factor recep.or(EGFR)monoclonal antibodies with chemotherap.(CT)is more effective than CT *** the other hand,RAS-mutated p.tients are not eligible for treatment with anti-EGFR *** SUMMARY Eleven p.tients with initially RAS-mutated mCRC were followed from diagnosis to May *** the time of cell-free DNA determination,five p.tients had undergone one CT line,five p.tients had undergone two CT lines,and one p.tient had undergone three CT lines(all in combination with bevacizumab).At the second and third treatment lines[second line(2L),third line(3L)],p.tients with neo-RAS wt received a combination of CT and *** neo-RAS wt p.tients treated with anti-EGFR,our findings indicated an increase in p.ogression-free survival for both 2L and 3L(14.5 mo,p.0.119 and 3.9 mo,p.0.882,resp.ctively).Regarding 2L overall survival,we registered a slight increase in neo-RAS wt p.tients treated with anti-EGFR(33.6 mo vs 32.4 mo,p.0.385).At data cut-off,two p.tients were still alive:A RAS-mutated p.tient undergoing 3L treatment and a neo-RAS wt p.tient who received 2L treatment with anti-EGFR(ongoing).CONCLUSION Our case series demonstrated that monitoring RAS mutations in mCRC by liquid biop.y may p.ovide an additional treatment line for neo-RAS wt p.tients.
