Bunch.sia glanduliera stands out because of th. h.gh.content of flavonoid compounds in th. pulp, contributing to th. antioxidant potential of fruit extracts. Anoth.r plant species rich.in flavonoid compounds is Markh.mia tomentosa. h.wever, to perform such.an assay, a h.gh.cost instrument is needed. To develop a simple and low-cost meth.d for th. determination of flavonoid compounds in M. tomentosa and B. glandulifera with.Ph.toMetrix® program application use pixels of digital imaging as an alternative meth.d and linear correlation tech.iques for univariate analysis implementing systems of RGB colors (red, green, and blue). To determine th. total flavonoids, th. reaction with.ferric ch.oride and quercetin was used as a control. For th. acquisition of data or smartph.nes, low-cost materials were used, demonstrating th. applicability of th.s analytical tool wh.le comparing its cost to oth.r analytical instrumentation. Th. total flavonoid content was also determined using a spectroph.tometry tech.ique in th. visible ultraviolet spectrum (UV-Vis). Th. pulp of B. glandulifera sh.wed th. h.gh.st content of flavonoid compounds. Th. content of flavonoid compounds found in th. fruit of B. glandulifera was 259.54 mg 100 g-1. In relation to th. results found in th. analysis of total flavonoids of M. tomentosa can be observed in th. flower in natura h.s a h.gh.r content of th.se compounds. Th. use of Ph.toMetrix® for th. determination of flavonoid compounds in M. tomentosa and B. glandulifera reduced expense and analysis time. Th. meth.d is reproducible and efficient. Th. proposed meth.d can be adopted in different species.
