i.di.i.ual tree models(i.Ms)are classi.i.d as growth and producti.n models for projecti.g current and future forest *** are more complex than other growth and producti.n models,show a hi.her level of detai. and,consequently,produce a better modeli.g ***,the accuracy and effi.i.ncy of i.Ms have not been properly assessed to *** thi. study,we esti.ated the growth i. hei.ht,di.meter,and i.di.i.ual tree volume of a Eucalyptus urophylla plantati.n by applyi.g an *** used a conti.ui.g forest i.ventory dataset i. whi.h 1554 i.di.i.ual trees wi.hi. 29 permanent plots were measured i. the fi.ld over a 6-year peri.d(24 to 72 months).Each i.di.i.ual tree volume was esti.ated for future tree *** achi.ve thi.,we adjusted the model to predi.t the hei.ht and di.meter growth,and the probabi.i.y of mortali.y as a functi.n of the competi.i.n *** i.M accuracy was assessed based on the analysi. of vari.nce results and,subsequently,the multi.le mean compari.on test at the 5%si.ni.i.ance *** tree volumes predi.ted by the i.M for the forest stand aged 72 months,begi.ni.g at ages 24,36,48,and 60 months,were compared to the fi.ld measured tree volume acqui.ed from the 72-month forest i.ventory that was used as the reference *** and observed tree volumes were si.i.ar when the esti.ati.n was based on the 48-month forest *** results mi.ht help to reduce fi.anci.l costs of forest i.ventory because the i.M produces accurate future predi.ti.ns of forest stand *** esti.ated i.M for Eucalyptus plantati.ns usi.g measurement i.tervals up to 2 years i. recommended because i. si.ni.i.antly reduced the projected volume di.crepancy compared to the fi.ld measurements.

A study was conducted to evaluate the aboveground bi.mass, nutri.nt content and the percentages of mycorrhi.al coloni.ati.n i. Eucalyptus camaldulensi. and Eucalyptus grand＆ plantati.ns i. the semi.ri. regi.n （ 15° 09′ S 43° 49′ W） i. the north of the State of Mi.as Gerai. i. Brazi.. Results show that the total above-ground bi.mass （dry matter） was 33.6 ***^-1 for E. camaldulensi. and 53.1 Mg·ha^-1 for E. grandi.. The bi.mass of the stem wood, leaves, branches, and stei. bark for E. camaldulens accounted for 64.4%, 19.6%, 15.4%, and 0.6% of the total bi.mass, respecti.ely （Table 2）; meanwhi.e a si.i.ar parti.i.n of the total above-ground bi.mass was also found for E. grand＆. The dry matter of leaves and branches of E. camaldulensi. accounted for 35% of total bi.mass, and the contents of N, P, K, Ca, Mg, and S i. leaves and branches accounted for 15.5%, 0.7%, 12.3%, 22.6%, 1.9%, and 1.4% of those i. total above-ground bi.mass, respecti.ely. i. the trunk （bark and wood）, nutri.nt accumulati.n i. general was lower. Nutri.nt content of E. grand＆ presented li.tle vari.ti.n compared wi.h that orE. camaJd^llensi.. Wood locali.ed i. superi.r parts of trunk presented a hi.her concentrati.n of P and bark contai.ed si.ni.i.ant amounts of nutri.nts, especi.lly i. E. grand＆. Thi. i.di.ated that leavi.g vegetal waste i. of i.portance on the si.e i. reduci.g the loss of tree producti.i.y i. thi. semi.ari. regi.n. The two speci.s showed mycotrophy.

Studi.s have confi.med that bone marrow-deri.ed mesenchymal stem cells （MSCs） can be used for treatment of several nervous system di.eases. However, i.olati.n of bone marrow-deri.ed MSCs （BMSCs） i. an i.vasi.e and pai.ful process and the yi.ld i. very low. Therefore, there i. a need to search for other alterati.e stem cell sources. Adi.ose-deri.ed MSCs （ADSCs） have phenotypi. and gene expressi.n profi.es si.i.ar to those of BMSCs. The producti.n of ADSCs i. greater than that of BMSCs, and ADSCs proli.erate faster than BMSCs. To compare the effects of venous grafts contai.i.g BMSCs or ADSCs on sci.ti. nerve i.jury, i. thi. study, rats were randomly di.i.ed i.to four groups： sham （only sci.ti. nerve exposed）, Matri.el （MG; sci.ti. nerve i.jury ＋ i.travenous transplantati.n of MG vehi.le）, ADSCs （sci.ti. nerve i.jury ＋ i.travenous MG contai.i.g ADSCs）, and BMSCs （sci.ti. nerve i.jury ＋ i.travenous MG contai.i.g BMSCs） groups. Sci.ti. functi.nal i.dex was calculated to evaluate the functi.n of i.jured sci.ti. nerve. Morphologi. characteri.ti.s of nerves di.tal to the lesi.n were observed by tolui.i.e blue stai.i.g. Spi.al motor neurons labeled wi.h Fluoro-Gold were quanti.ati.ely assessed. Compared wi.h sham-operated rats, sci.ti. functi.nal i.dex was lower, the densi.y of small-di.meter fi.ers was si.ni.i.antly i.creased, and the number of motor neurons si.ni.i.antly decreased i. rats wi.h sci.ti. nerve i.jury. Nei.her ADSCs nor BMSCs si.ni.i.antly i.proved the sci.ti. nerve functi.n of rats wi.h sci.ti. nerve i.jury,i.creased fi.er densi.y, fi.er di.meters, axonal di.meters, myeli. sheath thi.kness, and G rati.s （axonal di.meter/fi.er di.meter rati.s） i. the sci.ti. nerve di.tal to the lesi.n si.e. There was no si.ni.i.ant di.ference i. the number of spi.al motor neurons among ADSCs, BMSCs and MG groups. These results suggest that nei.her BMSCs nor ADSCs provi.e sati.factory results for peri.heral nerve repai. when usi.g MG as the conductor for engraftment.

Allelopathi. compounds reduce the growth and producti.i.y of upland ri.e plants, especi.lly i. consecuti.e plantati.ns. The rhi.obacteri. Pseudomonas fluorescens BRM-32111 and Burkholderi. pyrroci.i. BRM-32113 have been recorded as growth promoters i. ri.e. Thi. study was developed to understand the effect of the appli.ati.n of rhi.obacteri. on upland ri.e plants i. consecuti.e plantati.ns. Experi.ents were conducted i. a completely randomi.ed desi.n wi.h four repli.ati.ns of four treatments: ri.e seed i.oculated wi.h P. fluorescens BRM-32111, ri.e seed i.oculated wi.h B. pyrroci.i. BRM-32113(both sown on soi. wi.h ri.e resi.ue), non-i.oculated plants sown on soi. wi.h ri.e resi.ue(control wi.h resi.ue(WR)), and non-i.oculated plants on soi. wi.h no resi.ue(NR). Roots and seedli.g growth were adversely affected by allelopathi. compounds i. control WR plants. Plants i.oculated wi.h rhi.obacteri. P. fluorescens BRM-32111 or B. pyrroci.i. BRM-32113 i.duced an i.crease of 88% i. bi.mass, 3% i. the leaf area, 40% i. length, 67% i. root bi.mass, 21% i. chlorophyll a, 53% i. chlorophyll(a+b), 50% i. rate of carbon assi.i.ati.n(A), 227% i. A/rubi.co carboxylati.n effi.i.ncy(Ci. and 63% i. water use effi.i.ncy(WUE) compared to control WR plants. These results i.di.ate that rhi.obacteri. P. fluorescens BRM-32111 and B. pyrroci.i. BRM-32113 i.crease the tolerance of ri.e plants to stress from allelochemi.als. There are possi.le practi.al agri.ultural appli.ati.ns of these results for mi.i.ati.g the effects of envi.onmental allelochemi.try on upland ri.e.

Thi. work i. focused on the encapsulati.n of L-ascorbi. aci. by spray dryi.g techni.ue usi.g sodi.m algi.ate as wall materi.l. The mi.rocapsules morphology was observed by scanni.g electron mi.roscopy (SEM) and the encapsulati.n effi.i.ncy was determi.ed by spectrophotometri. analysi.. Results showed that encapsulati.n effi.i.ncy was of 93.48% and after 30 days was of 92.55%;di.ferences were not si.ni.i.ant, so that the stabi.i.y of L-ascorbi. aci. was not affected. Encapsulati.n yi.lds obtai.ed were low, at around 30%, but the mi.rocapsules morphology obtai.ed i. spheri.al.
