Objective:To determine the extraction suitable conditions of total phenolic content(TPC) by heat-reflux system,antioxidant activities and HPLC characterization of the aqueous-ethanolic extracts of Jatropha dioica(***)(Dragon's blood).Flourensia cernua(***)(Tar bush).Eucalyptus camaldulensis(***)(Eucalyptus) and Turnera diffusa(***)(Damiana).Methods:TPC was evaluated by the well-known colorimetric assay using FolinCiocalteu *** antioxidant activities were assayed by three methods based on scavenging of DPPH,ABTS and by lipid oxidation *** chemical composition of the extracts obtained was subject to HPLC ***:TPC in the plant extracts ranged from 2.3 to14.12 mg gallic acid equivalents/g for *** and ***,*** plant extracts of ***,*** and *** showed similar strong antioxidant activities on scavenging of DPPH and lipid oxidation *** contrast,*** extracts had lowest potential antioxidant in three assays *** assay showed the presence of several phenolic compounds in the extracts ***:The results obtained suggest that ***,*** and *** are potential sources to obtain bioactive phenolic compounds with high antioxidant properties which can be used in the factories as antioxidant agents or for treatments in diseases.

Visual outcome after removal of silicone oil in patients undergoing retinectomy for complex retinal detachment

AIM：To evaluate the functional outcome after removal of silicone oil（ROSO）in patients undergoing retinectomy for complex retinal detachment.·M ETHODS：We performed a retrospective case note review of patients who underwent ROSO after retinectomy for complex retinal *** with less than 6mo follow up and recurrent retinal detachment following ROSO were excluded.·RESULTS：Thirty-six patients were *** mean best corrected visual acuity（BCVA）pre-ROSO was1.13 log mar（SD 0.5）.The mean BCVA 3mo following ROSO was 1.16 log mar（SD 0.53）,6mo following ROSO1.13（SD 0.63）,and 12mo following ROSO 1.18（SD 0.69）.At 12mo after ROSO,the BCVA improved in 38.9%of patients,remained unchanged in 25%,and deteriorated in 36.1%,although there was no statistical significant difference in BCVA after ROSO at 3,6 and 12mo（=0.93）.The size of retinectomy ranged from 15°to 270°（SD 53）and did not influence the visual outcome（=0.11）.·C ONCLUSION：There was no statistically significant difference in BCVA between pre-and post-ROSO following retinectomy for complex retinal *** was no statistical difference in visual outcome related to the size of the retinectomy.

Impact of IPMOE on nursing tasks in the medical ward: A time-motion study

Introduction:The In-patient Medication Order Entry System (IPMOE) was first implemented in the medical ward of Princess margaret Hospital,Hong *** was a local developed close-loop system including prescription,dispensing and administration *** on its impact on nursing tasks would be important for practice improvement and subsequent system ***:The study was conducted to quantify the nursing times across medication-associated tasks for paper-based mar and computer-based IPMOE,including change in the tasks and time patterns before and after IPMOE ***:This was a prospective observation study in medical wards before (Jan 2014-Jun 2014) and after (mar 2015-Jun 2015) the implementation of *** conducted 8-hr observation studies of individual nurses with a customized application to time various pre-categorized nursing *** inferences and interrupted time series analysis was performed to identify the change in the intercept and trends over time after ***:The average number of medication-related tasks was significantly reduced from 61.07 to 29.81,a reduction of 31.26 episodes per duty (P < 0.001,95% CI 22.9-39.63).The time for the medication-related tasks was reduced from 32 min (SD =21.57) to 26.57 min (SD =11.35) and the medication administration time increased from 37.93 min (SD-14.78) to 44.37 min (SD 19.45),but there was no overall significant difference in the time spent on each duty (P =0.315) between the two *** improving trend in the delayed effect was observed (P =0.03),which indicated a run-in period for new application was needed in clinical ***:Our study had shown the time motion observation could be applied to measure the impact of the IPMOE in a busy clinical *** classification of activities,validation,objective measurement and longitudinal evaluation,the method could be applied in various systems as well as different clinical settings in

Prospective study of Centurion~？ versus Infiniti~？ phacoemulsification systems： surgical and visual outcomes

AIM： To evaluate surgical outcomes（SOs） and visual outcomes（VOs） in cataract surgery comparing the Centurion？ phacoemulsification system（CPS） with the Infiniti？ phacoemulsification system（IPS）.METHODS： Prospective, consecutive study in a singlesite private practice. Totally 412 patients undergoing cataract surgery with either the CPS using the 30-degree balanced？ tip（n=207） or the IPS using the 30-degree Kelman？ tip（n=205）. Intraoperative and postoperative outcomes were documented prospectively up to one month follow-up. Nuclear sclerosis（NS） grade, cumulated dissipated energy（CDE）, preoperative corrected distance visual acuity（CDVA）, and CDVA at one month were recorded. RESULTS： CDE was 13.50% less in the whole CPS compared with the whole IPS subcohort. In eyes with NS grade III or greater, CDE was 28.87% less with CPS（n=70） compared with IPS（n=44）（P=0.010）. Surgical complications were not statistically different between the two subcohorts（P=0.083）, but in the one case of vitreous loss using the CPS, CDVA of 6/4 was achieved at one month. The mean CDVAs（VOs） at one month for NS grade III and above cataracts were-0.17 log mar（6/4.5） in the CPS and-0.15 log mar（6/4.5） in the IPS subcohort respectively（P=0.033）.CONCLUSION： CDE is 28.87% less, and VOs are significantly improved, in denser cataracts in the CPS compared with the IPS. The authors recommend the CPS for cases with denser nuclei.

In order to compete in the global manufacturing mar ke t, agility is the only possible solution to response to the fragmented market se gments and frequently changed customer requirements. However, manufacturing agil ity can only be attained through the deployment of knowledge. To embed knowledge into a CAD system to form a knowledge intensive CAD (KIC) system is one of way to enhance the design compatibility of a manufacturing company. The most difficu lt phase to develop a KIC system is to capitalize a huge amount of legacy data t o form a knowledge database. In the past, such capitalization process could only be done solely manually or semi-automatic. In this paper, a five step model fo r automatic design knowledge capitalization through the use of data mining is pr oposed whilst details of how to select, verify and performance benchmar.ing an a ppropriate data mining algorithm for a specific design task will also be discuss ed. A case study concerning the design of a plastic toaster casing was used as an illustration for the proposed methodology and it was found that the avera ge absolute error of the predictions for the most appropriate algorithm is withi n 17%.

Aim: To evaluate the outcomes of combined intravitreal triamcinolone (IVTA) and photodynamic therapy (PDT) with verteporfin in the treatment of subfoveal choroidal neovascularisation (CNV) caused by age related macular degeneration (AMD). Methods: 48 eyes from 48 patients with subfoveal CNV caused by AMD were prospective recruited, with 24 eyes treated with combined PDT with IVTA and compared with a control group of 24 eyes which received PDT monotherapy. In the combined treatment group, IVTA was performed immediately after PDT as an outpatient procedure. The mean number of treatments, mean logmar best corrected visual acuity (BCVA), mean line of visual acuity changes, and proportion of patients without moderate visual loss at 1 year were compared between the combined and monotherapy groups. Results: At 1 year the logmar BCVA for the PDT with IVTA group changed from 0.88 to 0.95 (p=0.32 compared with baseline), whereas the log-mar BCVA for the monotherapy group reduced from 0.74 to 1.09 (p mar lines change) compared with PDT monotherapy. Further randomised control trials might be justified to conclude the efficacy of PDT with IVTA.

用悬滴汽相扩散法得到了Ｒ１６３Ｋｎ－ＴＣＳ的晶体，并用ＡＭＰ浸泡４８小时后得到复合物晶体。在Ｍａｒ－Ｒｅｓｅａｒｃｈ面探测器系统上分别收集了０．２０５和０．１８７ｎｍ分辨率的Ｘ－射线衍射数据。采用同晶差值傅立叶法解析结构，用Ｘ－ＰＬＯＲ软件包进行修正，最后两模型的偏差因子（Ｒ和Ｒｆｒｅｅ）分别为（０．１８７和０．２６３）和（０．１８０和０．２３３），键长偏差都为０．００１３ｎｍ，键角偏差分别为２．７０８°和２．５８４°。结构测定显示Ｒ１６３Ｋｎ－ＴＣＳ和Ｒ１６３Ｋｎ－ＴＣＳ／Ａｄｅ的主链结构无较大变化活性口袋区的结构和氢键体系发生了明显变化。生化分析表明Ｒ１６３Ｋｎ－ＴＣＳ具有糖苷酶活性，但活性降低。这说明，第１６３位侧链的Ｈ＋对ｎ－ＴＣＳ发挥Ｎ－糖苷酶活性至关重要。
