The main objective of this research is to recognize several geological structures associated with the shear zones of the MFFS（Magallanes-Fagnano fault system） by the analysis and interpretation of gravimetric anomalies. Besides, to compare the gravimetrical response of the cortical blocks that integrate the region under study, which is related to the different morphotectonic domains recognized in the region. This research was developed employing data obtained from World Gravity 1.0, which includes earth and satellite gravity data derived from the EGM2008 model. The study and interpretation of the MFFS from the analysis and processing of the gravimetric data, allowed appreciation of a noticeable correlation with the most superficial cortical structure.

Structured catalysts for the simultaneous removal of soot and nitrogen oxides were prepared by means of coating cordierite monoliths with alumina-based suspensions containing Cu, Co or Fe and cs as the catalytically active phase. Textural and chemical properties of the coated monoliths were determined by means of N2-physisorption, SEM and temperature programmed reduction. Their activity in the simultaneous removal of soot and NOx was assayed in a lab-scale installation, using a carbon black as diesel surrogate. Catalysts containing cs exhibited significant activity in deNOx, however soot oxidation activity is poorly enhanced probably due to the low NO2 evolution, pointing to a different NOx adsorption mechanism in the present case, in comparison to previous observations on analogous K and Ba containing catalysts.

Autologous treatment for ALS with implication for broad neuroprotection

Background: Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is characterized by a progressive loss of motor neurons (MNs), leading to paralysis, respiratory failure and death within 2-5 years of diagnosis. The exact mechanisms of sporadic ALS, which comprises 90% of all cases, remain unknown. In familial ALS, mutations in superoxide dismutase (SOD1) cause 10% of cases. Methods: ALS patient-derived human-induced pluripotent stem cells (ALS hiPScs, harboring the SOD1AV4 mutation), were differentiated to MNs (ALS-MNs). The neuroprotective effects of conditioned medium (CM) of hEScs (H9), wt hiPScs (WTC-11) and the ALS iPScs, on MN apoptosis and viability, formation and maintenance of neurites, mitochon-drial activity and expression of inflammatory genes, were examined. For in vivo studies, 200 μl of CM from the ALS iPScs (cs07 and cs053) was injected subcutaneously into the ALS model mice (transgenic for the human SOD1G93A mutation). Animal agility and strength, muscle innervation and mass, neurological score, onset of paralysis and lifes-pan of the ALS mice were assayed. After observing significant disease-modifying effects, the CM was characterized biochemically by fractionation, comparative proteomics, and epigenetic screens for the dependence on pluripotency. CM of fibroblasts that were differentiated from the wt hiPScs lacked any neuroprotective activity and was used as a negative control throughout the studies. Results: The secretome of PScs including the ALS patient iPScs was neuroprotective in the H2O2 model. In the model with pathogenic SOD1 mutation, ALS iPSC-CM attenuated all examined hallmarks of ALS pathology, rescued human ALS-MNs from denervation and death, restored mitochondrial health, and reduced the expression of inflam-matory genes. The ALS iPSC-CM also improved neuro-muscular health and function, and delayed paralysis and mor-bidity in ALS mice. Introduction:The In-patient Medication Order Entry System (IPMOE) was first implemented in the medical ward of Princess margaret Hospital,Hong *** was a local developed close-loop system including prescription,dispensing and administration *** on its impact on nursing tasks would be important for practice improvement and subsequent system ***:The study was conducted to quantify the nursing times across medication-associated tasks for paper-based mar and computer-based IPMOE,including change in the tasks and time patterns before and after IPMOE ***:This was a prospective observation study in medical wards before (Jan 2014-Jun 2014) and after (mar 2015-Jun 2015) the implementation of *** conducted 8-hr observation studies of individual nurses with a customized application to time various pre-categorized nursing *** inferences and interrupted time series analysis was performed to identify the change in the intercept and trends over time after ***:The average number of medication-related tasks was significantly reduced from 61.07 to 29.81,a reduction of 31.26 episodes per duty (P < 0.001,95% CI 22.9-39.63).The time for the medication-related tasks was reduced from 32 min (SD =21.57) to 26.57 min (SD =11.35) and the medication administration time increased from 37.93 min (SD-14.78) to 44.37 min (SD 19.45),but there was no overall significant difference in the time spent on each duty (P =0.315) between the two *** improving trend in the delayed effect was observed (P =0.03),which indicated a run-in period for new application was needed in clinical ***:Our study had shown the time motion observation could be applied to measure the impact of the IPMOE in a busy clinical *** classification of activities,validation,objective measurement and longitudinal evaluation,the method could be applied in various systems as well as different clinical settings in

AIM： To evaluate surgical outcomes（SOs） and visual outcomes（VOs） in cataract surgery comparing the Centurion？ phacoemulsification system（CPS） with the Infiniti？ phacoemulsification system（IPS）.METHODS： Prospective, consecutive study in a singlesite private practice. Totally 412 patients undergoing cataract surgery with either the CPS using the 30-degree balanced？ tip（n=207） or the IPS using the 30-degree Kelman？ tip（n=205）. Intraoperative and postoperative outcomes were documented prospectively up to one month follow-up. Nuclear sclerosis（NS） grade, cumulated dissipated energy（CDE）, preoperative corrected distance visual acuity（CDVA）, and CDVA at one month were recorded. RESULTS： CDE was 13.50% less in the whole CPS compared with the whole IPS subcohort. In eyes with NS grade III or greater, CDE was 28.87% less with CPS（n=70） compared with IPS（n=44）（P=0.010）. Surgical complications were not statistically different between the two subcohorts（P=0.083）, but in the one case of vitreous loss using the CPS, CDVA of 6/4 was achieved at one month. The mean CDVAs（VOs） at one month for NS grade III and above cataracts were-0.17 log mar（6/4.5） in the CPS and-0.15 log mar（6/4.5） in the IPS subcohort respectively（P=0.033）.CONCLUSION： CDE is 28.87% less, and VOs are significantly improved, in denser cataracts in the CPS compared with the IPS. The authors recommend the CPS for cases with denser nuclei.

Rapid,accurate and high-throughput sizing and quantification of particulate matter(PM)in air is crucial for monitoring and improving air *** fact,particles in air with a diameter of≤2.5μm have been classified as carcinogenic by the World Health *** we present a field-portable cost-effective platform for high-throughput quantification of particulate matter using computational lens-free microscopy and *** platform,termed c-Air,is also integrated with a smartphone application for device control and display of *** mobile device rapidly screens 6.5 L of air in 30 s and generates microscopic images of the aerosols in *** provides statistics of the particle size and density distribution with a sizing accuracy of~93%.We tested this mobile platform by measuring the air quality at different indoor and outdoor environments and measurement times,and compared our results to those of an Environmental Protection Agency–approved device based on beta-attenuation monitoring,which showed strong correlation to c-Air ***,we used c-Air to map the air quality around Los Angeles International Airport(LAX)over 24 h to confirm that the impact of LAX on increased PM concentration was present even at 47 km away from the airport,especially along the direction of landing *** its machinelearning-based computational microscopy interface,c-Air can be adaptively tailored to detect specific particles in air,for example,various types of pollen and mold and provide a cost-effective mobile solution for highly accurate and distributed sensing of air quality.

Ultrafast laser-scanning time-stretch imaging at visible wavelengths

The chemistry of transition-metals sulfides has been an active field of both theoretical and experimental researches due to its important role in industry and biology *** this paper,quantum chemistry calculations have been carried out to investigate the reactivity of Ag and Au atoms with cs in gas *** reaction mechanisms of Ag and Au atoms with cs on both doublet and quartet potential energy surfaces(PESs)have been investigated using UBPW91 and UCcsD(T)*** reaction is more likely to proceed through a doublet pathway and the intersystem crossing between the two PESs is unlikely to *** two studied reactions proceed via a similar insertion-elimination mechanism instead of a direct abstract *** reaction Ag+cs→SAgcs is endothermic by about 21.0 kcal/***,we find that the reaction the insertion reactions start from a M—ηc complex and the result is contrary to the previous experiment *** new finding is awaiting further experimental *** reaction Au+cs→SAucs is slightly exothermic by about 8.8 kcal/mol,which is different from the previous theoretical *** the overall reactions,the rate-determining step is found to be the C-S bond cleavage step with a high activation barrier of about 40 kcal/*** calculated vibration frequencies are in good agreement with the experiment values and show the BPW91 method is very good for the calculation of small molecules containing Ag and *** reactivity of the two atoms toward cs is compared with those of the first row transition metal *** present study provides a detailed picture of the C-S bond activation and cleavage in carbon disulfide mediated by second and the third row transition metal atoms Ag and Au.

Optical time-stretch imaging enables the continuous capture of non-repetitive events in real time at a line-scan rate of tens of MHz—a distinct advantage for the ultrafast dynamics monitoring and high-throughput screening that are widely needed in biological ***,its potential is limited by the technical challenge of achieving significant pulse stretching(that is,high temporal dispersion)and low optical loss,which are the critical factors influencing imaging quality,in the visible spectrum demanded in many of these *** present a new pulse-stretching technique,termed free-space angular-chirpenhanced delay(FACED),with three distinguishing features absent in the prevailing dispersive-fiber-based implementations:(1)it generates substantial,reconfigurable temporal dispersion in free space(41 ns nm^(−1))with low intrinsic loss(o6 dB)at visible wavelengths;(2)its wavelength-invariant pulse-stretching operation introduces a new paradigm in time-stretch imaging,which can now be implemented both with and without spectral encoding;and(3)pulse stretching in FACED inherently provides an ultrafast all-optical laser-beam scanning mechanism at a line-scan rate of tens of *** FACED,we demonstrate not only ultrafast laser-scanning time-stretch imaging with superior bright-field image quality compared with previous work but also,for the first time,MHz fluorescence and colorized time-stretch *** results show that this technique could enable a wider scope of applications in high-speed and high-throughput biological microscopy that were once out of reach.

Dear Editor Abscisic acid （ABA） is the main phytohormone involved in adaptive crop responses to drought. ABA signaling relies on the family of pyrabactin resistance 1/PYRl-like/regulatory components of ABA receptors （PYR/PYL/RCAR）, which upon ABA binding form high-affinity ternary complexes with clade A protein phosphatases type 2C （PP2cs） and inhibit them （Cutler et al., 2010）. This results in the activation of an SnRK2-dependent phosphorylation cascade affecting a high number of targets in the plant cells, regulating stomatal aper- ture and the expression of stress-responsive genes （Cutler et al., 2010）.
