Lowering nitrogen inputs is a major goal for sustainable *** the present study,a set of 10 Solan.m melongena introgression lines(ILs)developed using Solan.m incan.m as the exotic donor parent were grown under two nitrogen fertilization doses supplied with the irrigation system:1)8.25 mmol·L-1nH4nO3,corresponding to the high nitrogen treatment(Hn),and 2)no external nitrogen supply,corresponding to the low nitrogen treatment(Ln).Twenty traits,including plant growth and yield parameters,fruit size and morphology,nitrogen and carbon.content in leaf and fruit,and phenolics content in fruit,were *** aim was to select of potential materials for eggplant breeding under low n inputs,as well as to identify and locate putative QTLs associated with the traits *** significant differences were observed between the soil characteristics of the Hn and Ln treatments,except for nitrogen and iron.content,which was slightly lower in the Hn,probably as a consequence of higher nutrient removal from soil by plants in the latter *** of variance showed that lowering nitrogen inputs did not significantly affect the final yield,fruit morphology,size and phenolics *** agron.mic traits were highly and positively correlated with each other under both treatments,as well as total phenolics with chlorogenic acid *** assessment of the differences between each IL and the recipient parent resulted in the identification of 36 QTLs associated with most of the traits—12 were specific to the Hn,17 specific to the Ln,and 7 were stable across *** introgressed fragment of *** generally had a negative effect on the trait,except for QTLs for fruit dry matter,for fruit length on chromosome 10 under the Hn,and for fruit pedicel length on chromosome 9 under the *** increase over An-S-26 of the allele of *** for the QTLs detected ranged between-73.98% and 26.03% in Hn and-73.67%and 34.43% in *** findings provide useful tools fo

An integral analysis of Air Pollution in the Gulf of mexico was made considering pollutants emissions assessment and diagnosis;air pollution.monitoring;and modeling of air pollution dispersion. combustion sources considered in this work were: thermoelectric power plants and open flares;and pollutants considered were sulfur dioxide, nitrogen dioxides, particulate matter (Pm10 and Pm2.5), Total suspended particles (TSP) and carbon.monoxide (co). This study made evident a lack of more recent information and a homogenization in emissions factors in order to know the conditions of air pollution in the Gulf of mexico in a more reliable way.

The use of plant species to cleanse groundwater with excessive concentrations of arsenic(As)derived from contact with weathered materials has become a valuable option to treat *** aim of this work was to analyze the bioaccumulation capacity of As of Senecio bonariensis(Asteraceae)through controlled laboratory tests and uncontrolled trials in the field in order to generate a low cost method applicable in rural areas that do not have systems of water *** collected from the natural environment were arranged in hydroponic crops under controlled and uncontrolled conditions,in the first case with increasing concentrations of As for 45 days,and in the second,with a constant concentration of As for a period in a range between 45 and 90 *** plants were processed and dried for the measurement of *** both tests,in all the samples there was a noticeable accumulation of As,generally greater in roots than in *** controlled conditions the plants accumulated more As in relation to greater concentration of this element in the *** all the trials a high bioaccumulation of As was found,which turns the plant into a *** to the ability of *** to accumulate As,and even.more because of the great biomass produced by this species,it becomes an excellent one to be used for the remediation of arsenical waters.

Chromitite bodies hosted in peridotites typical of suboceanic mantle(***)are found in the northern and central part of the Loma Caribe peridotite,in the cordillera Central of the Dominican *** chromitites are massive pods of small size(less than a few meters across)and veins that intrude both dunite and ***,they are high-Cr chromitites[Cr#=Cr/(Cr+Al)atomic ratio=0.71-0.83]singularly enriched in TiO2(up to 1.25 wt.%),Fe2 O3(2.77-9.16 wt.%)as well as some trace elements(Ga,V,co,mn,and Zn)and PGE(up to 4548 ppb in whole-rock).This geochemical signature is unknown for chromitites hosted in oceanic upper mantle but akin to those chromites crystallized from mantle plume derived ***,the melt estimated to be in equilibrium with such chromite from the Loma Caribe chromitites is similar to basalts derived from different source regions of a heterogeneous Caribbean.mantle *** mantle plume is responsible for the formation of the Caribbean Large Igneous Province(CLIP).Dolerite dykes with back-arc basin basalt(BABB)and enriched mid-ocean ridge basalt(E-mORB)affinities commonly intrude the Loma Caribe peridotite,and are interpreted as evidence of the impact that the Caribbean plume had in the off-axis magmatism of the back-arc basin,developed after the Caribbean island-arc extension in the Late *** propose a model in which chromitites were formed in the shallow portion of the back-arc mantle as a result of the metasomatic reaction between the supra-subduction zone(SSZ)peridotites and upwelling plume-related melts.

AIm: To assess the relationship between choroidal thickness and renal function in diabetic patients. mETHODS: Cross-sectional retrospective clinical study of 42 eyes of 21 ocular treatment-na?ve diabetic patients. Demographic data included: age, sex, type and course of diabetes. Ocular data included: severity of diabetic retinopathy;retinal thickness at the central macular region, as well as choroidal thickness at the central and paracentral quadrants, using automatically generated maps by swept-source optical coherence tomography;presence of cystic macular edema;and ocular axial length(AXL). Lab-test parameters included: glycated hemoglobin(HbA1c), albuminuria, albumin/creatinine ratio in urine, and glomerular filtration rate. RESULTS: A significant negative correlation was mainly observed between several choroidal thicknesses, age(Pnd ocular AXL(Pn the contrary, a significant positive correlation was found between all choroidal thicknesses, HbA1 c(Pnd albuminuria(PconCLUSIOn: Choroidal thickness can represent an additional tool to help clinicians predicting the renal status in ocular treatment-na?ve diabetic patients.

在金属铅的主要应用领域中，铅酸蓄电池作为最主要的金属铅消耗产品，每年世界范围内超过70%的金属铅应用于铅酸蓄电池行业。仅仅在中国，2010年精炼铅的消耗达到421万吨，其中80%最终都用于生产铅酸蓄电池。从废旧铅中重新提取精炼铅的工艺使得铅酸蓄电池使用拥有了很长的历史。铅的再造业在十多年前就已经达到90%，并且铅酸蓄电池是现有的原材料回收率最高的商业产品。废旧铅酸蓄电池主要成份为48-50%废铅膏，其包括PbSO4(0%),PbO2(8%)和PbO (%)。还原硫酸铅需要高温的作用，所以废铅膏回收一般都是通过高温分解工艺。总的来说，虽然这样的技术被质疑，但依然占据了全世界已有技术90%以上的份额。使用这种方式废铅膏一般被置于熔炉中，在超过1000℃条件下被熔化。由于使用焦炭或者煤作为燃料，大量的co2，铅的颗粒和SO2同时被产生和释放。考虑到市场容量，产品毒性以及对传统恢复工艺的影响，确保这种提取和恢复工艺的生态效益就十分必要。对于这样的挑战，一种新的不同尺度下基于湿法冶金的方案被提出，该方法将实现更加清洁和有效的铅再生。实验室规模基于湿法冶金提取超高纯度铅氧化物的实验被提出并正在不断改进。这种新的方法可以显著降低污染并且拥有更高的恢复(再生)率和更低能量强度要求。作为这种新方法研究的一部分，本研究着重比较了火法冶金和湿法冶金的生态效益，通过生命周期评价方法(Life Cycle Assessment,简称LCA)研究这种新技术的潜在生态效益。这必须全面考虑所有该过程中的能源及物质损耗，排放以及固废的排放。通过全面边界构建，两种方法的一些有代表性的功能单元，所有详尽汇集数据以及历史环境影响都被给出和分析。本研究分析了两种再生铅生产工艺过程中主要的环境影响因子。火法过程中能量消耗(以煤炭燃烧的形式)为主要的影响因子。

As consequence of its relatively abundant reserves compared to other energy sources,coal will continue to be widely employed in power *** reduce coal’s negative impact on the environment,new approaches have been evaluated and adopted by various countries in recent years to min.mize co_(2) *** developments focused on the selection of new fuels(such as biomass fuels)to combine with coal to reduce emissions from coal combustion,whereas subsequent approaches aimed at implementing new processes for co_(2) capture and storage,such as oxy-fuel *** addition.coal combustion is one of the main anthropogenic sources of trace elements(TE)emitted to the *** increasing knowledge acquired as to the impact of these pollutants in the environment has led to more restricted emission standards for some of these elements and to increased research on the technologies and pathways to control these *** article reviews the main factors involved in TE capture by comparing results obtained for Hg and other TEs under different control *** the effect of novel combustion processes and the potential of different pollution.control techniques toward these pollutants are discussed.
