Recent studies highlight the strong correlation between infectious diseases and the development of neuropsychiatric *** this editorial,we comment on the article“Anti-infective therapy durations predict psychological stress and laparoscopic surgery quality in pelvic abscess patients”by Zhang et al,published in the recent issue of the World Journal of Psychiatry 2023;13(11):*** discussion highlighted the potential consequences of anxiety,depression,and psychosis,which are all linked to bacterial,fungal,and viral infections,which are relevant to the impact of inflammation on the sequelae in mental health as those we are observing after the coronavirus disease 2019 *** focus specifically on the immune mechanisms triggered by inflammation,the primary contributor to psychiatric ***,pathophysiological mechanisms such as organ damage,post-injury inflammation,and infectioninduced endocrine alterations,including hypocortisolism or autoantibody formation,significantly contribute to the development of chronic low-grade inflammation,promoting the emergence or development of psychiatric alterations in susceptible *** inflammation can have long-term effects on patients,a multidisciplinary treatment plan can avoid complications and debilitating health issues,and it is crucial to recognize and address the mental health implications.

The taper functions of Kozak （1988）, Bi （2000） and Fang et al. （2000） were comparatively analyzed in the present paper to develop a system for calculating the merchantable volume of oaks in the northwestern region of the state of Chihuahua （Mexico）. Taper data corresponding to 298 trees were collected in mixed and uneven-aged pine-oak stands located throughout the study area, and covering the cxisting range of ages, stand densities and sites. Results show that the compatible segmented model developed by Fang et al. （2000） best described the experimental data and is therefore recommended for estimating tree diameter at a specific height, height to a specific diameter, merchantable volume, and total volume for oaks. The equation developed in this study is a fundamental tool for use in forest surveys in the study region and is simple enough to ensure its operational implementation. The results of the statistical analysis show that the equation can be recommended for other regions, although some local adaptations may be needed.

This study aims to apply a hydrogeological approaches and analysis of the 2021 flood event of Tasi-Tolu Lagoon to achieve four specific goals. Firstly, the study seeks to determine the natural characteristics of the lagoon, which include factors such as size, depth, water quality, and ecosystem composition. Secondly, the influence of precipitation on the water volume in the lagoon will be examined. This analysis involves assessing historical rainfall patterns in the region, as well as the amount and frequency of precipitation during the 2021 flood event. Thirdly, the hydrogeologic and geologic conditions of the lagoon will be evaluated. This involves examining factors such as the type and structure of the soil and bedrock, the presence of aquifers or other underground water sources, and the movement of water through the surrounding landscape. Finally, the study seeks to assess the risk of future flooding in Tasi-Tolu Lagoon, based on the insights gained from the previous analyses. Overall, this study’s goal is to provide a comprehensive understanding of the hydrogeological factors that contribute to flooding in Tasi-Tolu Lagoon. This knowledge could be used to inform flood mitigation strategies or to improve our ability to predict and respond to future flooding events in the region.

A series of bimetallic Pd-Pb catalysts with a constant Pd content of 1 wt%and Pb/Pd atomic ratio from 0 to 1.6 supported on γ-al2O3 were prepared and used for glycerol oxidation with H2O2 as the oxidizing agent at atmospheric pressure,45℃ and pH =*** morphology and dispersion of the catalysts were characterized by scanning electron microscopy-energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy（SEM-EDX） and transmission electron microscopy（TEM）.The presence of an alloy phase in the bimetallic catalyst was detected by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy（XPS）.Glycerol conversion obtained with the monometallic Pd catalyst was 19%,which was increased to 100%with the addition of *** four bimetallic PdPb catalysts were able to oxidize glycerol to dihydroxyacetone（DIHA） and the selectivity to DIHA reached 59%,58%,34%and 25%for PdPb0.25,PdPb0.50,PdPb1.00 and PdPbl.60 catalysts,respectively.

Existing studies have challenged the current definition of named bacterial species,especially in the case of highly recombinogenic *** has led to considering the use of computational procedures to examine potential bacterial clusters that are not identified by species *** paper describes the use of sequence data obtained from MLST databases as input for a k-means algorithm extended to deal with housekeeping gene sequences as a metric of similarity for the clustering *** implementation of the k-means algorithm has been developed based on an existing source code implementation,and it has been evaluated against MLST *** point out to potential bacterial clusters that are close to more than one different named species and thus may become candidates for alternative classifications accounting for genotypic *** use of hierarchical clustering with sequence comparison as similarity metric has the potential to find clusters different from named species by using a more informed cluster formation strategy than a conventional nominal variant of the algorithm.

The Brazilian judicial system is being reformed due to its lack of efficiency and to high social *** are also many work-related injuries,including musculoskeletal and psychological *** has been introduced into some services so as to address these health problems,and to help their stakeholders better organize their work *** paper aims to discuss ergonomics’contribution to judicial work systems and the effectiveness of a specific mode of introducing ergonomics to organizations-an ergonomics *** paper describes and evaluates the introduction of ergonomics conducted by an academic ergonomic team in the Court of Justice for Labor in Rio de Janeiro.A documental analysis(reports and official documents) and interviews conducted with the central players(ergonomists and justice stakeholders) were the methods *** provide a narrative of the whole process that describes the three interventions over the last five years and discusses the development of an internal ’ergonomic committee’.The participation of external ergonomists led to some improvements in many workplaces(new furniture and layout),technical systems(software) and work *** ergonomists also trained justice stakeholders in ergonomics to support the launch of the ergonomic ***,because there were no full time ergonomists in the service,consequently its capacity to solve ergonomic problems *** case shows firstly that judicial work systems appear to be a very important field of research and intervention in ***,the ergonomic committee may be seen only as an intermediary step of introducing ergonomics to organizations;the ergonomic introduction itself calls for the development of professional ergonomic services.

Chromitite bodies hosted in peridotites typical of suboceanic mantle(***)are found in the northern and central part of the Loma Caribe peridotite,in the Cordillera Central of the Dominican *** chromitites are massive pods of small size(less than a few meters across)and veins that intrude both dunite and ***,they are high-Cr chromitites[Cr#=Cr/(Cr+al)atomic ratio=0.71-0.83]singularly enriched in TiO2(up to 1.25 wt.%),Fe2 O3(2.77-9.16 wt.%)as well as some trace elements(Ga,V,Co,Mn,and Zn)and PGE(up to 4548 ppb in whole-rock).This geochemical signature is unknown for chromitites hosted in oceanic upper mantle but akin to those chromites crystallized from mantle plume derived ***,the melt estimated to be in equilibrium with such chromite from the Loma Caribe chromitites is similar to basalts derived from different source regions of a heterogeneous Caribbean mantle *** mantle plume is responsible for the formation of the Caribbean Large Igneous Province(CLIP).Dolerite dykes with back-arc basin basalt(BABB)and enriched mid-ocean ridge basalt(E-MORB)affinities commonly intrude the Loma Caribe peridotite,and are interpreted as evidence of the impact that the Caribbean plume had in the off-axis magmatism of the back-arc basin,developed after the Caribbean island-arc extension in the Late *** propose a model in which chromitites were formed in the shallow portion of the back-arc mantle as a result of the metasomatic reaction between the supra-subduction zone(SSZ)peridotites and upwelling plume-related melts.
