In recent years,studies have explored different combinations of immunotherapy and *** rationale behind these is the improved survival outcomes of new immunologic therapies used in first-line-treatment of advanced non-small cell lung ***,for the most-studied combinations of anti-programed death-1(PD-1)/programed death ligand-1(PD-L1)with the addition of platinumbased chemotherapy,recent research is investigating whether combining different immunologic antitumoral mechanisms of action,such as anti-PD-1/PD-L1 and anti-CTLA-4,or anti-PD-L1 and anti-TIGIT,with or without chemotherapy,can improve efficacy outcomes compared with more classical combinations,or compared with standard chemotherapy ***,we present the data of the main randomized studies that have evaluated these combinations,focusing on the basic rationale behind the different combinations,and the efficacy and tolerability data available to date.

The recent introduction of glassy carbon(GC)microstructures supported on flexible polymeric substrates has motivated the adoption of GC in a variety of implantable and wearable *** probes such as electrocorticography and penetrating shanks with GC microelectrode arrays used for neural signal recording and electrical stimulation are among the first beneficiaries of this *** the expected proliferation of these neural probes and potential clinical adoption,the magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)compatibility of GC microstructures needs to be established to help validate this potential in clinical ***,we present GC microelectrodes and microstructures—fabricated through the carbon micro-electro-mechanical systems process and supported on flexible polymeric substrates—and carry out experimental measurements of induced vibrations,eddy currents,and *** induced vibration,induced voltage,and MRI experiments and finite element modeling,we compared the performances of these GC microelectrodes against those of conventional thin-film platinum(Pt)microelectrodes and established that GC microelectrodes demonstrate superior magnetic resonance compatibility over standard metal thin-film ***,we demonstrated that GC microelectrodes experienced no considerable vibration deflection amplitudes and minimal induced currents,while Pt microelectrodes had significantly larger *** also showed that because of their low magnetic susceptibility and lower conductivity,the GC microelectrodes caused almost no susceptibility shift artifacts and no eddy-current-induced artifacts compared to Pt *** together,the experimental,theoretical,and finite element modeling establish that GC microelectrodes exhibit significant MRI compatibility,hence demonstrating clear clinical advantages over current conventional thin-film materials,further opening avenues for wider adoption of GC microelectrodes in chronic clinical app

Objective:Long-term survivors(LS)of non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)without driver alterations,displaying an overall survival(OS)of more than 3 years,comprise around 10%of cases in several series treated with *** are classical prognosis factors for these cases[stage,Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group(ECOG),etc.],but more data are required in the *** this multi-center study,we focused on LS of advanced NSCLC with OS above 36 months to perform a clinical-pathological and molecular ***:In the first step,we conducted a clinical-pathological characterization of the ***,we carried out a genetic analysis by comparing LS to a sample of short-term survivors(SS)(with an OS less than 9 months).We initially used whole-genome RNA-seq to identify differentiating profiles of LS and SS,and later confirmed these with reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR)for the rest of the ***:A total of 94 patients were included,who were mainly men,former smokers,having adenocarcinoma(AC)-type NSCLC with an ECOG of *** obtained an initial differential transcriptome expression,displaying 5 over-and 33 under-expressed genes involved in different pathways:namely,the secretin receptor,surfactant protein,trefoil factor 1(T FF1),serpin,Ca-channels,and Tolllike receptor(TLRs)***,RT-PCR analysis of 40(20 LS/20 SS)samples confirmed that four genes(surfactant proteins and SFTP)were significantly down-regulated in SS compared to LS by using an analysis of covariance(ANCOVA)model:SFTPA1(P=0.023),SFTPA2(P=0.027),SFTPB{P=0.02),and SFT PC(P=0.047).Conclusions:We present a sequential genetic analysis of a sample of NSCLCLS with no driver alterations,obtaining a differential RNA-seq/RT-PCR profile showing an abnormal expression of SF genes.

＜正＞This study employed functional magnetic resonance imaging （fMRI） to investigate cortical effects of learning Mandarin tones by native speakers of American English. Six American learners were scanned while listening to Mandarin tones. The learners then participated in a two-week Mandarin tone training program, after which they were scanned again. Regions of brain activation in the perception of tones before and after training were compared. Results showed significant cortical change in activation areas in the temporal-lobe language-sensitive regions （Wernicke’s area）, and in the frontal-lobe language-sensitive regions （Broca’s area） in the left hemisphere, as well as the homologous treas in the right hemisphere. These results are discussed in terms of changing cortical representations in language learning.

Utilization of Special Potential Scan Programs for Cyclic Voltammetric Development of Different Nickel Oxide-Hydroxide Species on Ni Based Electrodes

Special potential scan programs were designed for cyclic voltammetric development of β-NiOOH or γ-NiOOH/ β-NiOOH mixtures on the surface of nickel or nickel-chromium (80:20) alloy electrodes in NaOH 0.10 M. The pro- grams consisted on changing the anodic or cathodic switching limit to facilitate the chemical reactions taking place ei- ther between Ni(II) hydroxides or between Ni(III) oxides-hydroxides. The electrochemical charge density under the oxidative wave, observed at Ni or Ni-Cr electrode surfaces at approximately 0.48 V (vs SCE), remained almost con- stant with the number of cv cycles after approximately 600 cv cycles at 0.050 V/s. Thus, it can be suggested that a stable proportion of Ni(II)/Ni(III) oxides-hydroxides was obtained on the electrode surfaces. The relative amounts of β-NiOOH or γ-NiOOH species were calculated from the electrochemical charges under their reduction waves in the voltammetric experiments. Higher charge densities were always obtained with Ni-Cr alloy electrodes as compared to pure Ni electrodes. Linear relationships were obtained in our study on the dependence of the oxidative peak current with the square root of the scan rate at a scan rate range between 0.01 V/s and 0.16 V/s.

Visual acuity drops off as a function of retinal *** normal reading,it is possible that acuity limitations alone limit the amount of information available on a single eye fixation and,hence,constrain reading *** implement a new reading paradigm,parafoveal magnification,which compensates for acuity limitations on a fixation-by-fixation *** text is magnified in order to functionally equalize its perceptual impact with concurrent foveal text We demonstrate that the span of perception on a given eye fixation is governed by attentional demands and that the size of the span does not depend on visual angle,but rather the amount of information to be processed.A test of competing models of eye movement control shows that,even when parafoveal information is enlarged,visual attention is allocated in a serial fashion from word to word in reading.
