Coupled tripartite investigation of breaker fluid invasion and impact on hydrocarbon recovery in sandstone reservoirs

Breaker fluids are designed to dissolve filter cakes by breaking their long-chain molecules,thereby removing solid deposits on the wellbore *** breaker fluids are not intended to infiltrate the hydrocarbon reservoir,they can invade and cause formation damage by altering sandstone reservoirs'wettability and relative *** can lead to a reduction in the overall reservoir *** study coupled tripartite methods to investigate the potential impact of breaker invasion and transport in hydrocarbon reservoirs and its multiscale effect on the performances of sandstone *** utilized experimental,analytical,and numerical methods to assess and predict the susceptibility of reservoirs to breaker fluid invasion and *** experimental and empirical investigations considered varying breaker fluid formulations to evaluate the effects of breaker fluid concentration,formation temperature,and solution gas-oil ratio(GOR)on residual-oil saturation(ROS)and oil-water relative *** adopting the ROS and relative permeability associated with the 50%v/v breaker fluid mixture,the performance of the hydrocarbon reservoir was numerically simulated under the limiting scenarios of no-invasion,moderate-invasion,and deep-invasion of breaker *** results indicate a positive correlation between breaker fluid concentration and ROS,highlighting the risks that breaker fluid invasion and deep infiltration pose to hydrocarbon ***,results show that both live-oil condition(LOC)and dead-oil condition(dOC)reservoirs are susceptible to the detrimental impacts of breaker fluid infiltration,while their invasion can reduce hydrocarbon recovery in both LOC(-6%)and dOC(-28%).The multi-scale effects on reservoir performance are more pronounced at near-wellbore and dOC than at far-field and *** from this work provide valuable insights into the complexity of breaker-fluid invasion in sandstone reservoirs and the mitigation of as

The intrinsic features involving a circularly symmetric beam profile with low divergence, planar geometry as well as the increasingly enhanced power of vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers （VCSELs） have made the VCSEL a promising pump source in direct end bonding to a solid-state laser medium to form the minimized, on-wafer integrated laser system. This scheme will generate a surface contact pump configuration and thus additional end thermal coupling to the laser medium through the joint interface of both materials, apart from pump beam heating. This paper analytically models temperature distributions in both VCSEL and the laser medium from the end thermal coupling regarding surface contact pump configuration using a top-emitting VCSEL as the pump source for the first time. The analytical solutions are derived by introducing relative temperature and mean temperature expressions. The results show that the end contact heating by the VCSEL could lead to considerable temperature variations associated with thermal phase shift and thermal lensing in the laser medium. However, if the central temperature of the interface is increased by less than 20 K, the end contact heating does not have a significant thermal influence on the laser medium. in this case, the thermal effect should be dominated by pump beam heating. This work provides useful analytical results for further analysis of hybrid thermal effects on those lasers pumped by a direct VCSEL bond.

From the definition of the standard Perelomov coherent states we introduce the Perelomov number coherent states for any su(2) Lie algebra. With the displacement operator we apply a similarity transformation to the su(2)generators and construct a new set of operators which also close the su(2) Lie algebra, being the Perelomov number coherent states the new basis for its unitary irreducible representation. We apply our results to obtain the energy spectrum, the eigenstates and the partition function of two coupled oscillators. We show that the eigenstates of two coupled oscillators are the SU(2) Perelomov number coherent states of the two-dimensional harmonic oscillator with an appropriate choice of the coherent state parameters.
