Review of air disturbance technology for plant frost protection

Confronted with severe frost damage to plants,methods,technologies and equipment have been developed and applied during the past *** paper presents a comprehensive review on the most effective and active technology to protect plants from radiation frost based on air disturbance *** working principle of the technology was elaborated with frost protection mechanism,structures and applicability of three types of working patterns:conventional wind machines,selective inverted sink and portable vertical *** an automatic mechanized technology,control strategy,applicable occasion and proper parameters are introduced for each type of working *** operation of the technology and equipment depends on plant critical temperature,prevailing climatic conditions,thermal inversions strength,as well as *** frost protection performance and effectiveness of conventional horizontal wind machines,selective inverted sinks and helicopters are discussed and compared from the cost-effectiveness and application aspects,and the feasibility of selective inverted sinks is still ***,conventional wind machines are the best choice for plant frost protection and consequently are widely used in temperate and subtropical areas throughout the *** frost protection application with helicopters is not easy to use during the frost nights with high *** paper also provides researchers with some perspectives on improving air disturbance technology and its equipment,and some practice recommendations for growers.

Intelligent Dynamic Aging Approaches in Web Proxy Cache Replacement

One of commonly used approach to enhance the Web performance is Web proxy caching technique. In Web proxy caching, Least-Frequently-Used-Dynamic-Aging (LFU-DA) is one of the common proxy cache replacement methods, which is widely used in Web proxy cache management. LFU-DA accomplishes a superior byte hit ratio compared to other Web proxy cache replacement algorithms. However, LFU-DA may suffer in hit ratio measure. Therefore, in this paper, LFU-DA is enhanced using popular supervised machine learning techniques such as a support vector machine (SVM), a naive Bayes classifier (NB) and a decision tree (C4.5). SVM, NB and C4.5 are trained from Web proxy logs files and then intelligently incorporated with LFU-DA to form Intelligent Dynamic- Aging (DA) approaches. The simulation results revealed that the proposed intelligent Dynamic- Aging approaches considerably improved the performances in terms of hit and byte hit ratio of the conventional LFU-DA on a range of real datasets.

Insight into the relationship between non-linear mixed convection and thermal radiation:The case of Newtonian fluid flow due to non-linear stretching

The current research focuses the light on the characterization of buoyancy-driven non-linear mixed convection and non-linear radiation in a Newtonian flow over a nonlinearly stretching vertical sheet,and this type of flow has useful applications in many industrial processes,such as the paper and pulp industry,polymer industry,electronic device cooling,solar collectors,gas turbine plants,and nuclear *** appropriate transformations,governing PDEs for non-linear mixed convection are reduced to higher-order non-linear ODEs and those are numerically *** with tabular presentations of computed results,the graphical representations are generated to elucidate the effects of involved parameters on convection transport properties and their *** demonstrates that flow velocity increases near the surface and decreases away from the surface as the non-linear convection parameter ***,increments in the thermal buoyancy,temperature ratio and non-linear radiation parameters result in the boost of *** temperature decreases as linear and non-linear buoyancy-related parameters(non-linear convection and thermal buoyancy parameters)are of higher *** contrast,the temperature rises with two non-linear thermal radiation-related parameters(thermal ratio and non-linear radiation parameters).For greater values of the non-linear stretching related parameter,a lower velocity and a higher temperature are *** non-linear convection,thermal buoyancy,thermal ratio and non-linear radiation parameters contribute toward the reduction of the magnitude of surface-drag force and growth of the surface cooling ***,with the non-linearity in surface stretching there are significant percentage hikes of surface-drag force magnitude and surface cooling rate.

Topological surface states are a new class of electronic states with potential spintronics and quantum computing applications. Using spectroscopic mapping techniques with the scanning tunneling microscope （STM）, we have examined the scattering and transmission properties of these surface states from variety of defects. Our experiments have demonstrated that the chiral spin texture of these electronic states protects them from backscattering--a feature that makes these electronic states robust to disorder [1]. More recently, we have shown that unlike conventional two-dimensional surface states （even those on high conducting metals like Au）, the topological surface states cannot be localized [2]. These novel states penetrate through surface barriers that stop other surfaces states. These recent experiments show that like topological quantum hall edge states, the topological surface states are insensitive to the shape of the sample.

Financial statements in less developed countries： What do preparers demand？

This study reports on an empirical investigation of the characteristics, attitudes, and beliefs of preparers of external financial reports in a less developed country. The basic research instrument consisted of a questionnaire in two parts： the first addressing attitudes of professional accountants toward annual financial reports generally; the second, more specifically measuring the importance of the information items to preparers. Our results suggest that the independent auditor is the most influential group in decision-making processes. As in many developed countries, the auditor＇s report and the regulatory framework are considered to have a major influence on financial reporting practices. Preparers believe that a lack of knowledge of external users＇ needs and lack of reporting standards and accepted accounting principles are the main concerns with corporate financial reports in Iran. The results showed that the balance sheet, auditors＇ report, and income statement in that order are the three most important parts of the annual reports.

Metal cation exchanged silica gel for identification of cationic and nonionic surfactants with preliminary separation by thin layer chromatography

Silica gel impregnated with 1% aqueous solutions of different metal cations （Li^＋, Mg^2＋, Zn^2＋, Cu^2＋, Co^2＋, Ni^2＋, Ba^2＋and Th^4＋） has been used for the analysis of nonionic and cationic surfaetants using simple aqueous acetone as mobile phase system. Co^2＋ was found the most suitable impregnant for the mutual separation of nonionic surfactants （Brij-35 and Brij-57） and cationic from nonionic surfactants （tetmdecyltrimethylammonium bromide and Cween-20）. Zinc sulphate impregnation （Zn^2＋-silica gel） shows identical chromatographic behavior and these layers are useful to separate nonionic surfactant （Brij-35） from cationic surfaetant （cetylpyridinium chloride）. The mutual separation of B J-35 and B J-57 is not influenced by the presence of optical brightener in the sample.

Defining umbilical cord blood stem cells

Umbilical cord blood is the blood found in the vessels of the umbilical cord and placenta. It has been shown that this blood contains at least three populations of stem cells, each with unique features and properties. Due to the absence of standardized criteria for characterizing and naming cord blood stem cells, different terms and acronyms have been introduced to describe certain cell populations. Besides the confusion caused by the introduction of these different names, some of the terms used by different groups are inaccurate and misleading when considering the molecular and cellular properties of such cells. Hence, in this review we provide simple and direct descriptions of different populations of stem cells in umbilical cord blood in an attempt to clarify the confusion caused by the existence of multiple names given to certain cord blood stem cells. We also discuss the potential use of umbilical cord blood stem cells as a therapeutic tool for several diseases and disorders in light of ongoing clinical trials.

Simulating Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm to Estimate Likelihood Function of ARMA（1, 1） Model

This paper present a simulation study of an evolutionary algorithms, Particle Swarm Optimization PSO algorithm to optimize likelihood function of ARMA（1, 1） model, where maximizing likelihood function is equivalent to maximizing its logarithm, so the objective function ＇***＇ is maximizing log-likelihood function. Monte Carlo method adapted for implementing and designing the experiments of this simulation. This study including a comparison among three versions of PSO algorithm “Constriction coefficient CCPSO, Inertia weight IWPSO, and Fully Informed FIPSO”, the experiments designed by setting different values of model parameters al, bs sample size n, moreover the parameters of PSO algorithms. MSE used as test statistic to measure the efficiency PSO to estimate model. The results show the ability of PSO to estimate ARMA＇ s parameters, and the minimum values of MSE getting for COPSO.

Isolation and Identification of Multi-Drug Resistant Strains of Non-Lactose Fermenting Bacteria from Clinical Isolates

Purpose: We studied the drug resistance of different microbes from clinical isolates. The morphological characteristics of bacteria were observed through culture characteristics and by carrying out gram staining techniques while the biochemical characteristics of bacteria were carried out by biochemical test. Methods: A total of 324 samples were collected from suspected patients visiting different hospitals at district Peshawar. For morphological identification, samples of clinical isolates were analyzed by blood agar, MacConkey agar and Eosine Methylene Blue, identified by gram staining and characterized by different biochemical tests. Antibiotic Sensitivity test by Modified Kirby-Bauer Disc diffusion method was used to test the in-vitro susceptibility of the identified isolates to different antibiotics such as Ceftazidime, Ceftazidime, Ceftriaxone, Cefepime and Imipenem. Results: These resistant non-lactose fermenting gram negative bacteria were isolated from samples of pus/wound (33.30%, n = 108/324), blood (33.30%, n = 108/324), urine (23.30%, n = 75/324) and from ascetic/pleural fluids (10.20%, n = 33/324). The study revealed that the percentage of non-fermenting bacterial infection was higher in females (53%) as compared to males (47%) along with higher infection observed in the age group of 11 - 30 years. Pseudomonas aeroginosa showed high resistance against Cefepime (88.80%), followed by Cefoperazone (55.50%), Ceftazidime (48.10%), Ceftriaxone (33.30%). Imipenem was active with low resistance (7.40%). More resistance was seen in Morganella morganii against Imipenem (66.70%) followed by Cefoperazone (55.50%), Ceftriaxone (55.50%). Cefepime showed low resistance (11%). Multi-drug resistant Proteus mirabillis was highly resistance to Ceftriaxone (74.07%), followed by Cefepime (59.20%), Cefoperazone (44.40%) and low resistance for Imipenem (25.90%). This work;It was made to determine the positive and negative usage information, attitudes and behaviors of social networking networks for users. Today, it is well known how the wide social effects of social networking sites are widespread and effective. As far as it can be followed from written and visual media, it causes significant damages for attitudes and behaviors for individuals. Looking at the results of the study, it seems impossible to limit the time and necessity of these networks for people, but it is understood that people force their limits and capacity. It was determined that the general acceptance and rejection areas are mixed and the dominant distinctive effects were weakened. Unable to prevent social dissolution and deterioration was realized by these social networks of networks. However, we cannot only talk about negative effects because their positive effects should be mentioned. Data were obtained in this direction. For example, some segments encourage the users of these sites to have more freedom, to develop democracy and human rights awareness. However, the real problem is when and where to stand. This study;Social networking networks use information, attitudes and behaviors;It was carried out for the purpose of evaluating the use of nicknames and networks for the use of networks. The data of the study were obtained by the application of a questionnaire and the data obtained were analyzed with appropriate statistical analysis methods.
