Re-delocalization of localized d-electrons in VO_(2)(R)-VS_(4)hetero-structure enables high performance of rechargeable Mg-ion batteries

Rechargeable Mg-ion batteries(MIBs)have attracted much more attentions by virtue of the high capacity from the two electrons ***,the reversible Mg^(2+)diffusion in cathode materials is restricted by the strong interactions between the high-polarized bivalent Mg^(2+)ions and anionic ***,we design and propose a hetero-structural VO_(2)(R)-VS_(4)cathode,in which the re-delocalized d-electrons can effectively shield the polarity of Mg^(2+)***,the electrons should spontaneously transfer from VS_(4)to VO_(2)(R)through the interfaces of hetero-structure due to the lower work function value of VS_(4).Furthermore,the internal electrons transfer lead to the electronic injection into VO_(2)(R)from VS_(4)and the partially broken V-V dimers,indicating the presence of lone pair electrons and charge *** from the shield effect of re-delocalized electrons,and the weakened attraction between cations and O/S anions enables more S^(2-)-S_(2)^(2-)redox groups to participate the electrochemical reactions and compensate the double charge of Mg^(2+)***,VO_(2)(R)-VS_(4)hetero-structure exhibits a high specific capacity of 554 mA h g^(-1)at 50 mA g^(-1).It is believed that the charge re-delocalization of cathode extremely boost the Mg^(2+)ions migration for the high-capacity of MIBs.

Attention-Enhanced Voice Portrait Model Using Generative Adversarial Network

Voice portrait technology has explored and established the relationship between speakers’ voices and their facialfeatures, aiming to generate corresponding facial characteristics by providing the voice of an unknown *** to its powerful advantages in image generation, Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) have now beenwidely applied across various fields. The existing Voice2Face methods for voice portraits are primarily based onGANs trained on voice-face paired datasets. However, voice portrait models solely constructed on GANs facelimitations in image generation quality and struggle to maintain facial similarity. Additionally, the training processis relatively unstable, thereby affecting the overall generative performance of the model. To overcome the abovechallenges,wepropose a novel deepGenerativeAdversarialNetworkmodel for audio-visual synthesis, namedAVPGAN(Attention-enhanced Voice Portrait Model using Generative Adversarial Network). This model is based ona convolutional attention mechanism and is capable of generating corresponding facial images from the voice ofan unknown speaker. Firstly, to address the issue of training instability, we integrate convolutional neural networkswith deep GANs. In the network architecture, we apply spectral normalization to constrain the variation of thediscriminator, preventing issues such as mode collapse. Secondly, to enhance the model’s ability to extract relevantfeatures between the two modalities, we propose a voice portrait model based on convolutional attention. Thismodel learns the mapping relationship between voice and facial features in a common space from both channeland spatial dimensions independently. Thirdly, to enhance the quality of generated faces, we have incorporated adegradation removal module and utilized pretrained facial GANs as facial priors to repair and enhance the clarityof the generated facial images. In recent years,the issue of aircraft icing has gained widespread *** breaking and detachment of dynamic ice can pose a threat to flight ***,the shedding and fracture mechanisms of dynamic ice are unclear and cannot meet the engineering needs of ice-shedding hazard ***,studying the fracture toughness of ice bodies has extremely important practical *** address this issue,this article uses a centrally cracked Brazilian disk(CCBD)specimen to measure the pure modeⅠtoughness and pure modeⅡfracture toughness of freshwater ice at different loading *** mixed-mode(Ⅰ–Ⅱ)fracture characteristics of ice are discussed,and the experimental results are compared and analyzed with the theoretical values of the generalized maximum tangential stress(GMTS)criterion considering the influence of *** results indicated that as the loading rate increases,the pure modeⅠtoughness and pure modeⅡfracture toughness of freshwater ice decrease,and the fracture toughness of freshwater ice is more sensitive to the loading rate.Ⅰn terms of fracture criteria,the theoretical value of the ratio of pure modeⅡfracture toughness to pure modeⅠfracture toughness based on the GMTS criterion is in good agreement with the experimental value,while the theoretical value based on the maximum tangential stress(MTS)criterion deviates significantly from the experimental value,indicating that the GMTS criterion considering the influence of T-stress can better predict the experimental results.

Enhanced hepatic metabolic perturbation of polystyrene nanoplastics by UV irradiation-induced hydroxyl radical generation

The environmental behavior of and risks associated with nanoplastics(NPs)have attracted considerable ***,compared to pristine NPs,environmental factors such as ultraviolet(UV)irradiation that lead to changes in the toxicity of NPs have rarely been *** evaluated the changes in morphology and physicochemical properties of polystyrene(PS)NPs before and after UV irradiation,and compared their hepatotoxicity in *** results showed that UV irradiation caused particle size reduction and increased the carbonyl index(CI)and negative charge on the particle ***-aged PS NPs(aPS NPs)could induce the generation of hydroxyl radicals(·OH),but also further promoted the generation of·OH in the Fenton reaction *** pathological damage was more severe in mice exposed to aPS NPs,accompanied by a large number of vacuoles and hepatocyte balloon-like changes and more marked perturbations in blood glucose and serum lipoprotein,alanine aminotransferase and aspartate aminotransferase *** addition,exposure to PS NPs and aPS NPs,especially aPS NPs,triggered oxidative stress and significantly damaged the antioxidant capacity of mice *** with PS NPs,exposure to aPS NPs increased the number of altered metabolites in hepatic and corresponding metabolic pathways,especially glutathione *** research suggests that UV irradiation can disrupt the redox balance in organisms by promoting the production of·OH,enhancing PS NPs-induced liver damage and metabolic *** study will help us understand the health risks of NPs and to avoid underestimation of the risks of NPs in nature.

Roles of nanoparticles in arsenic mobility and microbial community composition in arsenic-enriched soils

Environmental effects of nano remediation engineering of arsenic(As)pollution need to be *** this study,the roles of Fe_(2)O_(3)and TiO_(2)nanoparticles(NPs)on the microbial mediated As mobilization from As contaminated soil were *** addition of Fe_(2)O_(3)and TiO_(2)NPs restrained As(V)release,and stimulated As(Ⅲ)***(V)concentration decreased by 94% and 93% after Fe_(2)O_(3)addition,and decreased by 89% and 45% after Ti O_(2)addition compared to the Biotic and Biotic+Acetate(amended with sodium acetate)controls,*** maximum values of As(Ⅲ)were 20.5 and 27.1μg/L at 48 d after Fe_(2)O_(3)and TiO_(2)NPs addition,respectively,and were higher than that in Biotic+Acetate control(12.9μg/L).The released As co-precipitated with Fe in soils in the presence of Fe_(2)O_(3)NPs,but adsorbed on TiO_(2)NPs in the presence of TiO_(2)***,the addition of NPs amended with sodium acetate as the electron donor clearly promoted As(V)reduction induced by *** NPs addition changed the relative abundance of soil bacterial community,while Proteobacteria(42.8%-70.4%),Planctomycetes(2.6%-14.3%),and Firmicutes(3.5%-25.4%)were the dominant microorganisms in *** potential As/Fe reducing bacteria were related to Pseudomonas,Geobacter,Desulfuromonas,and *** addition of Fe_(2)O_(3)and TiO_(2)NPs induced to the decrease of arr A *** results indicated that the addition of NPs had a negative impact on soil microbial population in a long *** findings offer a relatively comprehensive assessment of Fe_(2)O_(3)and TiO_(2)NPs effects on As mobilization and soil bacterial communities.

Characteristics and influencing factors of CO_(2) emission from inland waters in China

Inland water bodies,being the most active biogeochemical cycle reactors,play a pivotal role in the global carbon cycle and CO_(2) *** study integrates existing observation dataset of CO_(2) flux(fCO_(2))in rivers,lakes and reservoirs in China,to elucidate their spatial-temporal patterns and key influencing factors and to reappraise the significance for regional carbon *** showed that,the fCO_(2) in rivers,lakes and reservoirs in China presented significant variability with large range of-379.3-4947.6,-160.1-785.0 and -74.0-1603.1 mg CO_(2)m-2h^(-1),*** median of the fCO_(2) in rivers was of 228.5 mg CO_(2)m^(-2)h^(-1),observably higher than these in lakes and reservoirs(26.0 and 28.3 mg CO_(2)m^(-2)h^(-1),respectively).The fCO_(2)in rivers and reservoirs exhibited similar decreasing trend from south to north as a result of universal climate restraint,the averaged fCO_(2) in Pearl River and Yangtze River basins showed much higher than that in Northeastern ***,the averaged fCO_(2) in the Mongolia-Xinjiang lake district and the Northeast lake district were higher than other lake districts,followed by the Qinghai-Xizang lake district,and the Eastern and Yungui lake district were generally low,contradicting the climatic *** water primary production enhancement resulting from human activities was the main driver of spatial variation in the fCO_(2) in ***,the fCO_(2) in rivers presented seasonal pattern with higher wet season than dry season,while opposite patterns were found in lakes and *** temperature,precipitation and water primary production were main ***,it showed pH was a key factor indicating the variability of the fCO_(2) levels either in rivers,lakes or in *** lakes,the fCO_(2) is closely linked to chlorophyll a(Chl-a)and dissolved oxygen(DO),whereas,the fCO_(2) in rivers is primarily associated with organic carbon(OC)and total nitrogen(TN),highlighting the dive

Selenocysteine methyltransferase SMT catalyzed the synthesis of Se-methylselenocysteine to regulate the accumulation of glucosinolates and sulforaphane in broccoli

Selenocysteine methyltransferase(SMT)is a key enzyme involved in the Se metabolism pathway,and it is responsible for the catalysis of Se-methylselenocysteine(SeMSC)compound *** studies showed that selenium treatment activated SMT expression and promoted the accumulation of glucosinolates(GSLs)and sulforaphane,but the roles and functional mechanisms of SMT in mediating GSLs and sulforaphane synthesis remain *** this study,we identified the BoSMT gene in broccoli and uncovered its roles in mediating GSLs *** assays revealed that BoSMT is involved in SeMSC biosynthesis in *** importantly,the contents of GSLs and sulforaphane were significantly increased in the BoSMT-overexpressing broccoli lines but decreased in the knockdown lines,suggesting that BoSMT played a positive role in regulating GSLs and sulforaphane *** evidence indicated that BoSMT-mediated overaccumulation of GSLs and sulforaphane might be due to the increase in the endogenous SeMSC *** with the mock(water)treatment,selenite-induced significantly increases of the SeMSC content in the BoSMT-knockdown plants partially compensated the phenotype of GSLs and sulforaphane *** with the mock treatment,exogenous SeMSC treatment significantly increased the contents of GSL and sulforaphane and activated GSL synthesis-related gene expression,suggesting that SeMSC acted as a positive regulator for GSL and sulforaphane *** findings provided novel insights into selenium-mediated GSLs and sulforaphane *** genetic manipulation of BoSMT might be a useful strategy for improving the dietary nutritional values of broccoli.
